I’ve just started chapter 3, and before this I’ve completed every optional side quests boss I’ve come across (and every side quest I new existed for that matter) as well as every main story fight.

On hard mode. 😎

Hmph! You must've cheated!

Definitely Haitaka after yours,

Friendly reminder he was arguably better in the other run. So it's not exactly a fluke, either.

not sure who else though.

Candace. Definitely. Best waifu after Izana.

...Honestly though, Gazak is godly too. Kumagera is great filler for a few chapters, he's awesome in ninja hell for example. Nichol is like a bootleg Camilla, which isn't bad. Zhara is a mercenary with pass, he's cool. Senno's built like a bow armor, and Spendthrift is great. The brigand twins are kinda whatever, though.

So yeah. All of them, is what I'm saying. But the best are Haitaka, Kumagera, Nichol and Gazak, definitely.

if you get him early enough he is more like stronger Camilla

you can get him as early as ch8 or 9, and he is like stronger than Camille at Base

No personal or DV access tho

Holy fucking shit Nichol.

Heck his growths are great too. Main problem with him is that he has absolutely no unique skills, so he relies on his stats unlike folks like Gazak or Haitaka.

Still, Jesus.

Also, his design is like, 10 times better than Camilla's. There's that too.

Wait but how do you get him in chapter 8 or 9, Silas joins in chapter 7!

Ah, I know what you mean! They really should produce more of these special edition, 100% legit systems. Demand is high!

Indeed!
Best they get on that for the PS3 soon!

Yep, sure is! Just wish that PSLinux would play PS2 games, too.
And also, it still needs the PS3 and PSVita extensions. But otherwise, I'm satisfied!

Oh, you would LOVE Etrian Odyssey. xD
Though those games are just tough as nails hard. They don't require bullshit surprises to make you think they are. They just are.

Batrified sounds awesome.

And an awful lot like something that Devil Survivor did, where a certain enemy can use its Swarm ability to make a swarm of flies pop out of your character... which also deals massive damage to them... while also spawning in more enemies you have to fight. And yes, winning that battle fast is basically the only thing you can do about it.

Bottom line is, no matter the SMT game he appears in, boss fights against

Spoiler

Beelzebub, as in... this guy:

are always hell.
Which makes sense, considering... but hey.

Published by Atlus, during the GBA-DS eras, they seem to have dabbled in publishing the works of small developers. The game was actually developed by the wholly separate company called Sting. Gungnir is part of their oddly-named "Department Heaven" series of RPGs, which ultimately died after four entries (Riviera, Yggdra Union, Knights in the Nightmare, Gungnir) and a few spinoffs. All of them are at least a little unusual, and likely an acquired taste, though I do like their artstyle.

Oh, okay!
Still sounds pretty interesting, so I might give it a shot!

PS3 extension exists, but requires a literal monster

It crashed my Sony PC when i tried it 😞

Vita won't happen, i think. not enough demand + complex console

PS3 extension also needs a few years in the oven, as far as I've read. I honestly don't expect a really good one of those any time soon!

And yeah, you're prolly right about the Vita. Though the too little demand is a bit of a shame, since there are some gems on there... that now exist on other platforms too. But they exist!

I approve!
Even though I didn't think this Pokémon Conquest game was all that exciting, either, back when I tried it. It was kind of slow, to be honest. Music's pretty good, though!

Ehhh I've heard it's really easy, and that just kinda killed any interest I may've ever had in the game.

Butterman's.

...Sorry, it's @Pengaius's screenshot LP. The first post was a joke update about FE Conquest. My reactions were really ironic, looking back now.

Part of it is that he starts in the worst magic class in Conquest, plus his personal skill is harder to take advantage, and less useful than it seems. I remember looking through his averages once, when trying to jusstify my Ophelia best mage of Fates claim, and in Sorceror he is comparable to a well bred Ophelia, but Ophelia's better magic caps proved  the tipping point in me calling her best mage thanks to how many spirit dusts are available in the game that she can take advantage of, but he can't due to his caps...

People like to gloss over the drawbacks of the Royals a lot. Xander has the big glaring one in his speed, which requires some in demand resources to fix. I talked a little about Leo already above. Camilla is probably the best of the royals (personally I think Elise can surpass her if you really know how to use her personal skill, but the skill barrier for that is high for that, especially when compared to one of the easiest to use units in the game), but the meme about her falling off hold some truth to it, as by the endgame most of your trained units will outclass her (although she usually isn't bad enough to bench even then). As for Elise, she is the only unit that needs to promote or class change to attack, and she ends up with the same min-maxing stat spread as Nyx in most cases.

It's a good point that there's little brought up about possible drawbacks, I haven't really made those points myself.

PCSX2 definitely does work, though I'll ask if you're running into troubles. I actually had to reinstall it as the version that could be easily installed just vanished a few weeks ago.

Source: Me getting Berwick to run at a solid framerate. Unlike Vestaria where I had to make multiple additions to get the game to launch.... 😞

I could see the Vita happening long term (Like, we'll see what happens in the coming decade), but yeah I wouldn't expect PS3 emulation to be common for a few years.

Even if I never got into the DS spinoffs, I must admit the last decade has made them missed.

Well, my biggest issue is that, no matter what I did, no matter what settings I used, I couldn't get it to run faster than like 10 fps, at most.
And I'm not suffering through that. Especially not when even installing it is a royal pain in the bottom.

The installation of the binary wasn't an issue, just an inconvenience (but it was a newer version)

As for the setup, I'm not sure what your machine's like or what plugins you have, so I can't make much of a comment there.

Apologies for how useless I'm being about it.

Hmm... diamond dust or aerial? Estelle’s ATS isn’t great, and while aerial does have better range, diamond dust allowed her a chance to freeze, which is something to do... it doesn’t tell me how much damage they do though.

Look at what other arts you will get/lost as well.

For example with Aerial you might also get La Tear (Area heal) while Diamond dust can net you Teara (stronger Heal)

If you are talking attack wise tho then Aerial

It's fine, don't worry! There is no need for apologies!

The thing is that these days, I haven't the willingness nor patience to really fiddle around with that kind of stuff to get a program to work. I want to install a program, and then I want that program to do what it's supposed to. If it doesn't, then I'm not using it.

And also, a while back, I nearly wasted an entire day trying to get PCSX2 to work, and the end result was as I described: no game ran faster than 10 fps. Ever since then, I bear a not insignificant grudge against it.
