What is this?

Blue Reflection is another game by Gust for PS4 (and PC, iirc), the ones who made Atelier. I played it not too long ago and it instantly became one of my three all-time favorites.
It's basically Persona pushed through the magical girl filter. Battle system is basically Atelier Ryza, but you have skills to manipulate the turn order.

Imagine playing Persona 3, you are low on health and desperately need to leave, but you are in the middle of the dungeon, you fail to dodge an enemy and get first struck, and the enemy kills your main character and you game over, this is why this mechanic shouldn't exist.

Because I can see more that way. The standard size is too friggin' tiny.

Can't you just increase the size?

That would just look like this:

Not too terrible, but I think I prefer the other option, to be honest.

I actually watched that movie at one point. It was... a thing.
It did, however introduce me to the awesomeness that are (or were, rather) the Bee Gees, so... *shrug*

God, I can't believe how exciting soccer matches can be.

The one I watched has the been the craziest match ever.

I don't find soccer particulary interesting, but it's a rarity to see a match in free TV, so I did it and didn't regret anything.

Fatigue is still a better mechanic than random encounters for sure since it's in the hands of the player who can avoid the encounters.

Fatigue in Persona 3 was a really nice mechanic.

In general more JRPGs should bring it up.

One reason I like Thracia 776, even if it's not executed very well.

What OS are you using? I've never seen something like that on Mac (which is what I thought Shrimperor said you use) before. Nice wallpaper btw.

I was not talking about Fatigue at all, I was giving an equivalent example to yours. Which can happen in every rpg without random encounters where enemies make any attempt to hit you on the map, and in some, it might as well be the same as a random encounter.

I like the idea in concept, but fatigue made Tharcia 776 a choir when you’re best characters were tired and you couldn’t use them in critical chapters.

You can SEE the enemies in this example, so you can avoid the fights.

That's the little and main difference.

I would even sorta understand, if it was referred to fatigue.

Exactly, especially healers and Lara suffer more for having low HP.

Using HP stat as base is poor in this regard.

It should be based on gained experience per chapter.

In Persona 3's constant use of narrow corridors? Uh huh...

I played the game, I know.

I am the Puzzle Dragon!

Also, can we talk about how a six-year old kid is fighting his way through a cave full of dangerous monsters?
Because that's what I'm currently doing. For what reason, I do not know, but here we are. XD

Good choice, DQ 5 is in my opinion the best of the Zenithian Trilogy.

If it's part of a trilogy, should I have played other games before it or can I play it without any prior knowledge?

Is it a good option for someone new to traditional RPGs? I've been wanting to give some a try, but I didn't really know where to start.

No, you don’t need to have played 4 or 6 because the game’s stories aren’t connected. They just are in the same world.
