It's understandable he'd have the seed of insecurity for being tormented with in his head. But I thought that Rex got his full dose of crisis-developing-into-heroic-resolve a while back. Rex didn't need another instance of being knocked down super late. It made sense for Fei, because he is sooooo screwed up that it takes the entire game to fix it, not so for Rex. They aren't big, a sandstorm isn't gonna kill your accuracy, for example, but some fights might go a bit easier or harder depending on the weather. There's your Xenoblade trivia of the day. Even Commons can be better than Rares depending on skills. Boreas is decent, Perun is good in my experience. Rex gets Break with Megalances and Perun is a Megalance so of you got her on Rex, that's even better. And of course, Nim, as much as I want to pretend she doesn't exist, is pretty good in combat.
