Staff utility, rallies, damage debuffs and heavy magical chip makes him into a serviceable backup unit that won't take out armies by himself, but will support the fronliners quite effectively. Plus, at the point he joins, his only real competition for the extra deployment slot is Flora, who has one more staff rank and... Absolutely nothing else on him. Even if you're losing, keep going. Marietta/Archangel is immune to HP damage... because it's being rerouted to Morale. You are damaging her, just to her Morale, not HP. You won't notice at first because it's ????, but once it goes below 9999, you'll see it is going down. So you just need to endure, as you whittle down her morale. Use cards that let you prolong battles as long as possible. Once she's down to 1 Morale, she stops being immune from HP damage to Crusade. That's when you should use the card and finally beat her. Shield is what stops HP damage from cards. HP Control System is what reroutes regular HP damage to Morale. Once she's down to 1 Morale A.S. Shield becomes S.
