Personally I think improving the gameplay might have been a better then simply minimizing the time the player gets to actually... well, play the damn game. Saint Rubenio Posted June 18, 2021 Share Posted June 18, 2021 (edited) One brilliant bit of gameplay-story integration in FE12 is how Arlen is statistically better than Merric in almost every stat, proving that he really was the better mage. Even his weapon rank is superior, although it isn't high enough for excalibur. Another brilliant bit of gameplay-story integration is how the wandering nobody with a monocle and suicidal tendencies is a better mage than both of them and Wendell, proving that Khadein is a shitty-ass academy of magic. Just wanted to talk bout that for a second, because I love it. The guy's just some rando and he's more powerful than every other base mage in the game. All those years studying magic, all for that?
