Turns out, I'm too underleveled and Masaru is completely useless, so I can't beat the boss. Nice. Welp. I'm an idiot. Time to redo. At least I wasn't too far in yet. And at least the game gives you the option to restart chapters, so it's not like the run is lost... Even if I hadn't had the sense to keep lots of saves.
