It has a chance to not work when he does, but since he won't be countered much, it don't matter. He can still get bow skill from failing to use the weapon. Y'see, you can use weapons you don't have the rank for, you just Don't get crit rates Don't get any benefits, I.E, a + attack weapon will not attack an extra time The weapon has a chance to "fail" and not attack. So they're no good to use in high-pressure situations, but keeping a good bow, such as the Rossweisse, on hand in case you need it is nice.
