Yes, those Pirates, ugh...Oh yeah, the Madden Curse. Because of Tom Brady, I assumed it was broken and dead, but I guess maybe that's just Tom Brady. :/
The turnovers were the most ridiculous thing I'd ever seen with the Steelers since that one game where they had a fuckton of penalties, to the point where Tomlin echoed in the press conference that it was ridiculous and he brought in some officials to monitor practice to cut down on the penalties.
Then hope you're fine with me being cool with the Ravens or Browns. :P

As a Steelers fan, I honestly wouldn't mind the Browns just randomly out of nowhere becoming one of the dominant NFL teams after their low expectations. :P If I recall, didn't the Chiefs get off to a strong start one year after almost going winless the year before? :o

As for the Steelers, hopefully this isn't the Madden curse trying to infect the whole team instead of just AB. yes im superstitious stahp looking at me like that That bunch of turnovers was...yeah.

Yeah, that's a bad design choice. They call your first character the "main protagonist" yet the tavern restriction is the only thing main protagonisty about them in this game. Dunno why they thought it was a good idea.

Lewyn is voiced by Steve Staley while Silvia is voiced by Laura Post. Not very familiar with either, but I know they’re not pseudonyms after researching them.
Joe Zieja also returns to voice Jamke.
Laura Post is Primrose in Octopath and Valentine in Skullgirls. The latter was quite some years ago, actually.

Well, they might be throwing in beasts as its own new weapon in a big update since it could potentially change the meta, so that's probably where the laguz are. :P

I might go for Lewyn or Quan because my teams focus too much on girls (curse you, my subconscious! :P), but I'm sorta iffy and thinking if I want to skip or not.

Wait, didn't we just get one? At least, the Nintendo UK YouTube channel had one. For whatever reason, the US YT channel didn't have it, and I only knew of it thanks to Nintendo Life.

...What? Laura is currently playing on a D&D show where she regularly goes into a Russian accent for her character. Her baby only had her out of that show for 6 weeks only because she had to care for him. Nothing happened to her voice. Giving birth does not mean your voice acting career is ruined; that's silly.

I'm curious how future Smash announcements will be handled. We've had two Smash-focused Directs thus far, and even if it's their cash cow, I can't see a third straight Smash-focused Direct (barring the Indie Showcase on the UK YouTube channel). There'd be too much complaints about their focus.

I already told you why I disagree. Hrid not being playable while his sisters are would be very very odd to me since he's on the good guys' side first of all and is also being played up as this powerful warrior. He also has a weapon in his art. That just screams "playable character at some point" to me. I also just don't think it'd be fair to him, this strong warrior, if his sisters were playable and he wasn't.
Ah, so I misread my wording. My bad.
In any case, I guess I'll just wait and see if IS ends up subverting expectations and spares Hrid.

...I'm sorry, you doubt that I think Hrid would be cool to play as because you don't agree with my reasoning as to my suspicions? What sense does that make? It's not like I said "I hate Hrid" or anything.
Also, if you do not agree, perhaps explain why you do not? I don't get why they'd choose to keep using the damaged art at this point (again, Gunnthra burning lackes any damage art) if they can easily make clean art for Hrid.

Also, a character that can be killed off quickly (Gunnthra) is allowed to be playable, but another who's only just sweating a bit can't?
Just saying, if a character's normal art depicts them with damage from an in-story event no matter their emotions, they likely may not see the light of day as a playable unit (or, in the case of in the story, they might not live long) unless they're voted to the top in CYL or it turns out IS took trolling lessons from Sakurai and went through the effort to do otherwise. They didn't bother adding burned damage to Gunnthra's art as she was in the middle of getting Sigurded, though, so that's a concern. Trust me, Hrid being playable would be awesome, but this is just too suspicious.
Also, I dunno what they'll do about Ylgr, really.

Honestly, I'm expecting Hrid to be only an NPC and that's it, judging by how his normal art is outright of him singed and sweating. If that's not in his damaged art, then it doesn't look good for him.

Honestly, I'd wait and see if there's apparently some weird rule where Echo fighters (not including non-Echo clones) have to be of the same series of the character they're echoing, because the closest thing we've got to an Echo from a different series so far from the six we know of is an Ylissean lord Echoing an Elibian lord from (if you believe the multiple universe theory) another world. Otherwise, everyone's stayed within the same series.
Would you believe me if I said I initially typed "so far" three times in the same sentence

Dixie isn't King K. Rool's Echo, though, silly. :P Also, the concept of Echo characters wasn't really established in the Smash 4 days, so that's not much to go on, either. And don't forget that Chrom and Dark Samus were in the same direct as well without being alongside a fellow representative, and Dark Samus never showed up in Ridley's trailer.

Ah. I got all eight people and went through all their chapters equally while balancing everyone out. I didn't snag only four characters and leave the other four for later. From my experience, I wasn't overlevelled (well, with the part of my party that didn't get the EXP boost) until finishing the first Chapter 4; I felt like I had to grind, and I wasn't exactly trying to dodge enemies, either.

@Alastor15243Wait, level too fast? I've had the opposite problem, and I've seen many share it: Even after going through all Chapter 1s, I still came off underleveled compared to the recommended levels chapter 2 gives. Did you use Bewildering Grace and wind up grabbing so much EXP or did you simply not bother trying to equally level everyone up? Because I was trying to make everyone's levels equal (save for the "main character") a good chunk of the game. Chapter 4 was the only time that I had felt overleveled (thanks in part to an EXP x100 effect), but I still had some scares from the bosses.

If so, I think Akuma is more likely, because he tends to appear in crossovers. Which is rather interesting because it was a cameo appearance of Akuma in a X-Men game that was the inspiration for the Marvel vs Capcom series, from what I’ve been told. It would be fitting for Akuma to appear in Smash if that’s true.
Ehh... Ken has that reputation of being super alike to Ryu, so I feel like he'd be more likely to be a Ryu Echo over Akuma. Ken himself has shown up in crossovers over Akuma in the form of the Namco x Capcom/Project X Zone series, though those games are admittedly strategy-based with combo elements. Also, if I recall, does Akuma actually have a super similar moveset to Ryu?

Honestly, I hate the idea of taking away just to feel good about the amount of representation. It just feels like a false sense of satisfaction that takes away from others.
I get that there's a bunch of FE characters...but as some may have seen me argue a bunch of times, I feel like FE sort of has an excuse with how compared to other franchises on its level of notoriety, it has a buttload of main or highly notable characters. Granted, save for making Echo characters (because they don't take much effort to make, and no, I do not believe in "slots"), they keep utilizing sword users (though Robin and Corrin aren't mainly known for their swords, but their magic and shapeshifting powers respectively), but otherwise I think the quantity of characters isn't so bad. If anything, one can make the argument that FE's characters fighting is a crossover in itself, given they don't exactly share the same setting altogether. Four Archanea reps, sure, but one Elibe, one Tellius, and one Hoshido/Nohr. It'd be hard if not impossible to get others outside the FE fanbase to hold this view (whether one in the fanbase agrees or not), but I think it gives a more positive illusion.

I think Anna can work. I don't really care about the whole Awakefates arguments because screw that, Anna appears in most games anyways, and I can see her wielding a large variety of weaponry from bows to axes to lances to daggers to etc.
