  1. Yes. It is. You get her in chaos route. Specials are not recruited through talking to them in combat. Only cutscenes.
  2. Felicia tripping could be used to leave an ice trail behind her which could slow any enemies caught in the ice radius. Imagine playing as her! Just launching plates and knives at people and tripping all over the place? I'd play her all of the time.
  3. Although I do wonder if that refers to specifically using Corrin in the way that happened, but rather having Corrin as an ace up his sleeve to prevent Mikoto from making an aggressive maneuver. It does put an interesting spin on things if you look at it that way...
  4. BUT THOSE HIT RATES ARE ATROCIOUS IN FE6! It certainly has nothing to do with those terrible hit rates that are built within the weapons themselves, no sir!
  5. It's not. I was weirded out by how different the game play was as well. I played it still and enjoyed it, but I feel OB > TO.
  6. And if you look, Jenny's design isn't that far from original Genny. They both still have pink hair and they both still wear pinkish dresses. Admittedly she's showing a bit more leg in the Echoes version, but then again, we can't tell if that's just from the angle and And Boey had inconsistent artwork anyways. Unless I'm seriously having a hard time with Genny's coloration, the dress still seems to be pink hued, just less vibrant than before, which is fine, because it's no longer 8-bit... If Paison and Leon get a pass from you, then Jenny definitely should too. Boey is the only one that has a far departure really.
  7. That's the thing though, I don't think any of the characters were changed too much. With how they look now, they are designed uniquely enough to actually be memorable based on their appearances alone. Too many of them were palette swaps because of space limitations, so it's nice to see some updated appearances.
  8. If you can, beat Knights of Lotus under 25 hours. You get a special ending.
  9. True, but if bows remain similar, it wouldn't be nearly as bad. Of course not. But with a passive like Corrin's, it's the sort of thing that allows a lord to still be useful with a bow.
  10. Honestly, I did a hack of FE7, and my idea for Lyndis was to give her +15 Critical, and make some bows, like the long bow, class specific, and let her use those. That way, she was a combination of a swordmaster and an archer that could use both, rather than you thinking of her as an ineffective nomad.
  11. W-Item anyone? Barret's Ultimate Weapons? I feel like in FF8 that got this a lot better though tbh. As most of the GFs have a 2nd chance to be obtained at Ultimecia's Castle. And yeah, I recommend getting Mug ASAP from Diablos as he's the only one to have it which can pave the way for getting other GFs.
  12. Honestly, I wouldn't mind a bow lord, as I went through a good deal of Fates as a bow lord, as I find Corrin's passive works better in a support roles anyways. For Lyndis to be an archer would have been kind of strange though... "Here's how you play the game, this unit is different from most other units in the game in the regard that it can only attack from two spaces away..." That doesn't seem like a very good idea from a tutorial perspective.
  13. RD had the right idea by having classes having innate passives tbh. Giving Swordmasters a critical boost just serves one purpose, but I'd honestly have them have a "quick riposte" or something that deals damage back when someone "misses" them. Adding more emphasis on that "glass cannon" idea. Simply have it be a stance that they can activate on the player phase or turn off, and you'd have a match made in heaven.
  14. The point is, is that Swordmasters have a niche and are much better than beforehand where they weren't very good units. FE6 they were good, and then it's kinda downhill from there. Swordmasters here don't just suck now.
  15. I don't think there is a mod per say, but there are several animations out there for Eliwood with a lance unpromoted. You could insert one of them in yourself if need be.
  16. It does help. The point of Swordmasters is basically to be 1 range archers. IE, they don't fight on enemy phase. Vantage is used as a safe guard for when you screw up. The other 3 moves that they get are meant to assist with their blowing up enemies. That's why dual katanas help because it ups their chance of fighting enemies at WTA and being able to stack that with their duelist blow skill. A unit like Hana for instance, is meant to kill an enemy, and then have her passive skill go off and damage other enemies nearby. Whether you are unimpressed or not doesn't mean that they don't have a niche now that doesn't just make them "crappy heroes that have less durability and no axes."
  17. Depends on the character. It's not enough to say a blanket "child units are better." As some like Kana are pretty bad, while others like Mitama aren't necessarily better or worse, just different.
  18. Good idea. Bad execution. Perhaps making the "veins" class skills would be a good idea.
  19. For Chapter 18, the only thing I can think of is that people of Nohr would find the act dishonorable to the point that they might actually use that as fuel to continue waging war against Nohr itself-- ie, all of the rebellions that were talked about in the plot-- two of which the player themselves have to subdue. The first being the Ice Tribe, and the second being Cheve. By having enough dirt on Nohr, it might still be enough to insight infighting I'd wager. However, it's also debatable that this wasn't even a thought that occurred to the writers. For Chapter 18, you could channel your inner Corrin and capture ALL of the soldiers so they don't die. As for Kotaro, I have no idea. I honestly have nothing on that. With the only rationale I can offer is that he wants to maintain a clean war so that enemies are less likely to deploy the same tactics that old Nohr would. However, this is a bit contradictory to support Xander that doesn't seem to hold this almost indefinable honor system that Xander seems to follow. Really the only argument that could be made is that Xander is attempting to think of a long run path rather than simply the easiest road traveled for a quick victory, but nothing really addresses this with storyline Xander. We don't get an actual reason why, but rather just "honor" which is a sentiment which varies based on individuals. And as you pointed out, the 3 different Xanders in the story.
  20. Non-JPN versions only. You could not steal in JPN. This was something all bosses had innately as an invisible passive. Blade Grasp works with brave. All you need to do is use Brave lowering abilities. It's less of a pain then. As for the Meliadoul Battle, I'm pretty sure that this only happened because you didn't have her. It's an extra battle-- and a poorly done one IMO. Honestly, I like FFTA2 the most in terms of ideas that it has, but I find that FFT's engine and charge mechanics have a bit more potential and keep things a bit more interesting.
  21. I'm not. Selena, Odin, and Laslow are a prime example that the game utilizes the multiverse theory even without resorting to DLC. We know that these three are Awakening children. But what gives away the fact that there is a multitverse of some sort. The fact that they even exist is a multiverse thought as we have Selena with red hair, and that's no even possible for her with any of her possible parents. Sure, we could argue that this means that Cordelia could have married someone with red hair (note, we still aren't using DLC so no magic to know how), but if we DO use DLC, it gets even worse where the game goes out of its way to say that her hair could have been *any* color aside from the red we have here. Which again, is a blatant contradiction of her "canon" artwork. And with Xander, who is to say he's didn't? After all, his single ending says that he was unpopular as a ruler, so who knows what he did to become unpopular besides being Xander. Um... That is evidence for why certain pairings might be better. What it isn't are arguments about what's supposed to be canon. Multiverse does hurt storytelling in the fact that things can't be as developed because there's a multiverse, but it's already a thing in game, so I don't even understand what you're trying to argue here. That's not the same as going "everything is canon. No point in discussing the merits of each pairing!" This whole thing started because you were saying "male Corrin is canon." When the reality is that he's not.
  22. When there are distinct pairings for them? Yes. I don't see what's wrong with that. It's not like we're suddenly talking about say... Pairings like Scarlet x Ryoma, as those are 100% non-canon as they cannot be done. So yes, even if we're talking about the discussion at hand, they still can be talked about. And more pressingly, Heirs of Fate would disagree with Male Corrin being canon as there is a male and female Kana which would imply that there is a male and female Corrin respectively.
  23. Uh... Yes we can. Let's think about the questions asked by the OP: What does that have to do with canon or not? Not much. Let's use an example: Sothe x Micaiah is a pairing that isn't canon, however, the relationship they have with one another is, and if it were a romantic pairing, it's a good one on the account that they are way passed the fledgling "I love you! I LOVE YOU MORE!" Stages. Incest or not, it's still one of the better pairings in the series in terms of how it's handled.
