  1. Regarding the story dlc, it mentions new characters. I think it isnt going to be a prequel based on that. Sure SoV let you use Fernand in its dlc, but only in said dlc. You couldnt outside of that. The DLC implies you'll actually get new characters. So Im thinking its either a new route, or some side/after story thing or something along those lines. Interesting thing to note though is the symbol used for the DLC. Its not one we have seen before anywhere else. And I dont know why they would make it for DLC only unless it had to do with the story content.
  2. You couldnt revisit them, no. But they were there to do whenever you actually wanted, and could do multiple paralogues between main chapters. Once done they are gone though. What I was meaning with the comparison is that Three Houses restricts when you can actually do a map. Unlike the traditional FE set up of going from map to map and just doing the next chapter, like Fates is structured, you have things you do inbetween now. So it balances it all out, and in the process restricts when exactly you can do a map. Which is why I think the grinding dlc doesnt stick here too much. There are ways it could work, and grinding dlc could also just ignore these mechanics, but I think considering the game wont have a real need for them, especially with a lack of lunatic, and the system would make grinding dlc a bit clunky to use, i dont think it will return. And yeah, good point. We dont know the nature of any of the maps yet, so who knows. It could just outright skip over the calendar mechanic completely.
  3. No, Conquest was different because between maps you could technically do however many paralogues, side quests, invasions, or dlc maps you wanted, the limit was in what spawned for actual use. So for example, Birthright and Revelation spawned maps that you could just do to your hearts content, and you could pay to spawn more of them. Conquest didnt spawn them at all. But you could do all the paralogues if you wanted to, if they were there, between any maps you wanted to at any pace. The grinding dlc specifically also removed XP gain outside of the XP map specifically. Where as Three Houses outright restricts how many maps you can do as a whole. You can only do so many maps a month before you move onto the next.
  4. Maybe it serves a few purposes other than just amiibo? Wonder if it might serve as somekind of Einherjar style shop too that would let us buy older saves version of characters or other people's versions of them? Or just somekind of shop in general to use for purchasing things maybe. Either way Im hoping its something at least decent. I liked the dungeon aspect of the Alm and Celica amiibo for SoV, but the functions with them other than that was rather disappointing.
  5. Side quests sounds interesting. Sounds like some of the typical festival stuff, but maybe we will have other things too. That and if we get the festival dlc, I imagine they will come with the costumes. They could easily be placed in school phase too, since festivals kind of fit in naturally there and rather than the typical outrealm stuff, they could actually make it lore relevant and do some worldbuilding with them. We already had stuff like founding of Faerghus day on the calendar after all. I think the grinding dlc might not make it this time, considering the way the game is now structured I dont think it would really work here. We are very limited in terms of when we can actually do maps, so we cant just constantly spam free battles between the next chapter, we have set days to do that instead. Which kind of defeats the purpose of an XP or gold map. So hopefully we get something more interesting in its place, as much as I did like them. They were convenient at least. Im really hoping we get some character dlc tossed in, Cipher, FEH OCs, something. Im glad that there seems to be more. Also, hopefully Amiibo reveal soon, Id like to see what they do here.
  6. Nice lol, at least you got a good one for merges there.
  7. I’d like to see the Space Marine class. Maybe with time travel mechanics the imperium of man can come in and save Fodlan from those who slither in the night, or TWSITN for short. Chain sword and bolter would be fun to see, shooting bullets larger than Lysithea’s whole body. Maybe the empire can make these these technological advancements in 5 years under Edelgard’s rule and she becomes the god empress of mankind. Plus Raphael’s statement of muscles over crests, and his very large body is clearly the predecessor to that of the marines.
  8. Yeah I was thinking similar myself. Some of it just sounded off when I read it, and they already got some support info wrong or left key details out. The fact that S supports themselves are locked behind the timeskip is a major piece of information you would think they would have, but nope. There’s also the fact that they had a lot of I don’t knows and all that in their post. And, this may sound a bit mean or whatever, but I honestly can’t see there being so many. Going from 2 in Fates to what sounds like more than 10 in 3H just sounds off, and especially as lopsided as it is. I can see there being 1 option for each gender per house maybe, but I’m not sure I believe there’s going to be almost 10 or more options. It especially sounded iffy considering they claimed Sothis was an option, yet didn’t want to expand on others due to spoilers. Even though the fact that Sothis is playable and romanceable is itself a spoiler. So so I really think if any bit of info is off, it’s all of what they said regarding supports.
  9. On the topic of a golden ending or whatever, Thani already said that the 4th Edelgard Route, should it be true, isn’t a happy ending either. So I highly doubt it’d be a Revelation style set up or anything. I doubt we’d even get to use the other 2 lords in that route, I imagine it’s something Thani would have mentioned if it was that way.
  10. Same, it would have been a lot better because there are ways you could plan around it, where the skills in Fates for example are too much of a wildcard to be able to plan around. I wouldnt mind whatever comes after 3H to reintroduce Multiplayer just to see how different it would be, if the recent FE pattern continues and they take what 3H does and builds upon it.
  11. I agree somewhat, I think some recent skills are fine, but I think a lot were taking the concept to its limits. Its why Im glad they are focusing on Combat Arts, since they seem to be taking some of these skills and turning them into arts that are used with a cost, rather than random triggers. We've already seen some of the weapon breaker skills as arts, which I think is going to be a better system.
  12. There also needs to be certain skills banned, like Lethality. Not much, but just removing the insta death skills and things of that nature.
  13. That would be great. Id love to see that. Maybe let us buy somekind of other items themed after them too, since we know shields are back.
  14. Yeah we dont know how much it works yet, Im hoping we get something good out of it. Even if we dont get to recruit them again, as great as that would be. Still hoping that will be the case though.
  15. Im expecting the usual grinding stuff, obviously. I would like to see maybe some character dlc? Whether that be Cipher cast, or previous game's characters, FEH OCs, something like that. Im also hoping for post game challenge content. Maybe not as intense as Apotheosis, but something fun and challenging.
  16. Nah I dont think they are doing it that way, Males dont have access to Pegasus Knight yet they do have access to Wyvern. This obviously isnt our full class list, I think there's some they arent showing for whatever reason
  17. Ok, thanks for the heads up. Ill fix it.
  18. I dont see this style as generic in the slightest. Its got a unique look to it, as someone who has a lot of JRPGs and anime series under his belt. And its certainly a new style for Fire Emblem itself, which I think is more important than anything. As long as the new style is a new look for FE, I dont really care, along with it looking nice that is. and as far as that goes, I think it looks fine. This is a new look for FE, and I think it works well. The characters all have rather unique designs to them, a lot stand out, even across the series. Seriously, go look at some of our old designs, they start blending together a bit. How many blond haired red armored cavalry can we have before they kind of turn into the same guy, different name? THe characters have a unique look here, some of those unique looks are great, some......not so much. But overall I cant really say its generic, its far from it, especially from a FE standpoint.
  19. I dont think that is all we will get. We havent seen anything outside the school and we know that some content will definitely be outside of that, if the cutscenes alone are anything to go by. Meaning we probably have recruits outside of the school we get. Plus whatever teachers and other staff.
  20. Im hoping that maybe based on some stuff in the game, we side with another house, and maybe the 3rd becomes an enemy or something later on. Or maybe we have to choose to save certain members of one house and the others die. Something to make the house choice matter and give us something to replay several times for.
  21. Either you are an elaborate troll looking to ruffle some feathers, in which case youve already gotten what you wanted, or you are an asshole making a post that belongs more on a blog than this forum. Either way, this topic really does nothing but stir the pot and makes an inflammatory statement about a game we have less than 10 minutes of footage of in total. If you dont like what you see, then dont buy the game and take your opinions to a blog post or a post on twitter or whatever soapbox you want to go stand on. As for what your claims are, there is hardly enough information to make that assumption anyway, we have less than 10 minutes of footage as I have said, and we have no idea what level of development is behind this game, and especially the story. And considering we have a continent, more world building than Fates and Awakening combined, and an avatar that seems to be a static character much like Persona, its looking to be on a much better footing than it is looking to be worst. In regards to anime, hate to break it to you but the series has always been full of "anime tropes", and bland villains. I dont know why you are looking for a top tier story in a Strategy Role Playing series built off the most generic story possible for its first title, but you arent going to get it. I suggest not expecting the next LoTR from a series that had a loli dragon in the first game.
  22. I think for base game, just leaving it to Anna would be nice. But I would love for some DLC for the Cipher cast maybe, or the Awakening trio, stuff like that. Things that would be a tad out of place for the original game, but can be fun as fanservicey DLC for other playthroughs.
  23. I think FE6 remake is going to be next. Roy is well known thanks to Smash and FE6 is an easy enough game to remake with a new coat of paint and simple touch ups as its relatively simple gameplay wise. Its also not all too complicated story wise, and with some added pieces it stands on its own quite well. Itd be a very safe option for a remake, and one that would be welcomed by many I would feel. Genealogy on the other hand is a can of worms. Its very popular in Japan, but almost nonexistent in the West outside of the diehard community such as us, which quite frankly doesnt speak for most of the buyers. This isnt inherently a bad thing at all, but Roy does have Smash recognition going for him. Jugdral does not. There is also gameplay hurdles. Genealogy gameplay wise is very...rough to say the least. Its got a unique idea, but compared to current FE I would go so far as to say its even more out there than Gaiden/SoV. Gaiden at least was familiar in its look with a more medium sized map set up, a class changing system, routes, etc. Genealogy on the other hand is far more linear and restrictive imo. There's only about 12 chapters, because each chapter is about like 4 normal FE chapters in size. Which makes them have an epic feel to them, but it also makes them take a long ass time to complete. One that isnt exactly as easy as doing a quick map in any other FE in about 30 minutes to an hour and moving on. You'll take an hour on the tutorial map alone for a first playthrough. There's also a lot of QoL features that just do not exist. Trading is gone, gold is an absolute mess, Quite frankly the entire preparation set up is a bit confusing and weird to anyone first walking into the game. Its really an odd title. There's also the very clear balance issues with the game, considering its a very cavalry dependent game even moreso than any future FE title. And in general the way you tackle Genealogy isnt like any other FE. Its a very different title. So either that has to be put at the forefront that its a weirder title gameplay wise, completely separate from the rest of the series, or it gets some major changes. Both could work, but its something that would take time and effort to do. And isnt as simple as just grabbing FE6, and remaking it. As far as gameplay touch ups go that they'd have to do, QoL features would be at the forefront. Everything I mentioned earlier are things that would have to be addressed. Trading, gold, preparation screen. There is also the inclusion of stuff like supports that would need to be considered, a facelift on the pairing system, if Mila's Turnwheel is going to be a series norm, how do we fit it in here, New character additions or redesigns/reworking certain characters is also a factor. The differences between Gaiden and SoV character wise is massive, just look at how much Boey changed over time. Its not like each and every character is going to just get picked up and placed in the game as is, there would be some touch ups for sure. Story wise its mostly fine, though with the addition of things like potential memories like what was in SoV, supports, and fleshing out the game's story in general it wouldnt be simple either. Keep in mind this was a SNES title, it was much more limited in its capabilities, even bringing it to an SoV level would take a lot of work. Genealogy's remake is a much larger undertaking than what BB is, or even any other title in the series. Id even say Thracia is an easier title to remake over Genealogy. That doesnt mean its really impossible, but it requires more work than the rest. The one thing I will say is this though, the focus on added troops and what seems to be a troop system ala Langrisser that is being added to Three Houses, makes me wonder if Genealogy is being looked at as Langrisser is the one title I have always seen as most comparable to Genealogy in terms of what it was trying to do, replicate large scale battles. Langrisser doesnt have as large of maps, but it recreates large scale battles better than Genealogy could in some ways considering each character is surrounded by several squads of troops. You really do control an army in those titles, not just a group of adventurers. And including somekind of troop based system in Genealogy would go a long way to spice up its gameplay and potentially start balancing out the game.
  24. So turns out the new Sonya skin in CN is free from an event. Which is fine by me, dont have to spend for it at all. Spent 50 tickets in total trying for Angelina or some more Cherie shards, got Chris and several sets of shards for her instead. Ill take it, I didnt have her before. I dont want to spend much of any of my crystals on it so I can keep those in reserve, so Im kind of done with the banner for now until I can gather up another 10 tickets.
  25. The Last Of Us: More of a lack of interest than anything else. I keep hearing all these great things about the story, but I personally dont get it. The gameplay doesnt look that impressive at all, and tbh the story doesnt sound all that groundbreaking. Its one of the first games that come to mind when I think of overhyped games. GTA: Just never really got into these games.
