  1. My biggest Fire Emblem dream involves some cheating, but I'd like to use codes for Blazing Sword, Sacred Stones, Path of Radiance, and Radiant Dawn to make characters get a perfect level up every time. Then I would try to max out as many units as possible. Gone would be the days of RNG abusing to get a decent level up! I have already done this for Shadow Dragon, and it was bliss. Now for my other goals (which hopefully I won't need cheating for) -Try to S Rank Hector Hard Mode -Beat Sacred Stones without ever using monster skirmishes -Get the extra conversation with Soren, Pelleas, and Almedha at the end of Radiant Dawn, and also the base convo between Ike and Soren in 4-E-5 -Beat Radiant Dawn Hard Mode with all units recruited and alive, including Lehran and Pelleas -Play Seisen no Keifu and Thracia 776 legally! I hope Nintendo will remake those two games someday for North American audiences.....
  2. I agree with Vincent's theory that the magic tomes contain magic power that the mages bring out during battle. It just seems to be the one that makes the most sense, and if a developer himself said so, it must be true! About the heavy magic tomes, there are some books in real life that are quite heavy. If you were lugging around a Webster's Dictionary containing magic words and you had to open it during battle to read them, that would be a lot more unwieldy than handling a sword or lance. And since most magic users are puny in terms of physical strength, it would make matters worse for them.
  3. Heather meets Lucius (C Support) Heather: Hello there. Lucius: Um, hello..... Heather: You're such a nice girl. Is there anything I can do for you? Lucius: Um, actually..... Heather: Oh, I know! We can sit under that tree over there. We'll have a nice, quiet chat, just the two of us.... Lucius: Listen, I..... Heather: Don't be so shy! All the other girls in this army just blow me off. But you won't, will you? Tell me your name. Lucius: It's Lucius. Heather: L-Lucius!? That's.....a guy's name! Lucius: Um yes, yes it is. Heather: Grrrrr! Stupid men, always trying to trick me! I oughtta teach you a lesson! Lucius: W-Wait,please!
  4. It's an odd thing that I like Fire Emblem, considering that I usually hate games that are based on luck. I was afraid to play the game at first because of its perma death, but I soon learned that as long as common sense and good strategy are exercised, casualties rarely occur. The replay value is there thanks to the variety of units. I'm the kind of guy who likes beating up several enemies with one very strong character, and Fire Emblem lets me do that quite a bit. The criticals are also great, especially the GBA ones. The Warrior Axe Critical.....When that hits,it's like WHABAM!!!!!
  5. What kind of gameplay features would we like to see? Personally, I would like to combine the branching promotions from Sacred Stones with the Third Tiers from Radiant Dawn. That would give a good amount of customization. Also, maybe instead of giving us completely random level ups, there should be a fixed mode like in Path of Radiance. The skill system should also be retained.
  6. My solution to Aran vs. Neph? Use 'em both. The only time you have to choose between the two is in Part 4. Neph has higher Spd and Res which is more useful for the final chapter but I like to use Aran because his first name is the same as Samus's last name. :)
  7. What does the "BS" in BS Fire Emblem stand for?
  8. Has anyone ever killed the Knights using cheats? Would it cause the game to freeze?
  9. Could dynamic growths apply to other Fire Emblems, we just haven't noticed them yet? Also, are we expecting dynamic growths to return in New Mystery of the Emblem?
  10. I put in the (M) code and the Action Replay was able to read the cartridge. Now, I just need the perfect level up code. EDIT: Oh yeah, the infinite funds code works too. Also, isn't there a code to set all RN values to 0? Does that work for level ups as well as hits and criticals?
  11. I'll tell you one thing about Final Fantasy vs. Fire Emblem. Neither series can seem to make up their minds about what to call their items/spells. In the good old days of Final Fantasy, we had Fire, Fire 2, and Fire 3. Now we have Fire, Fira, and Firaga. Similarly, we had Life, Life 2, and Life 3. Then those spells got changed to Life, Full-Life, and Auto-Life. And now, those spells are called Raise, Arise, and Reraise, respectively. Fire Emblem does the same thing. In FE7, we get a Horseslayer. Then FE9 calls it a Knight Killer, FE10 changes it back to Horseslayer, and FE11 calls it a Ridersbane. Class names also have a similar fate. Wyvern Rider is now Dracoknight. Nomadic Trooper (FE7), Ranger (FE8), and Horseman (FE11) are the exact same class (except for maybe slight differences in caps). To add further confusion, Ike's unpromoted class in FE9 is called Ranger. These aren't even name changes from one language to the next. These are all name changes within the English games, but each new Fire Emblem feels the need to change the names of its weapons and or classes. This is not really that big of a deal, but it's annoying. Why can't the developers just keep the same names?
  12. I don't know how Mercy works in the PAL version, but in the North American version, Mercy does make Elincia miss if she is about to kill an enemy.
  13. Now, I've been pretty lucky with this game. But, I've still had some epic fails: Marcia misses a Myrmidon with a 94% chance. Ike gets hit with a Hammer, it couldn't have possibly been more than 30% chance to hit. Final Chapter, Ike attacks Bryce with 88% chance to hit and misses. Next turn, Bryce attacks Volke and lands a critical. Ike goes to attack an enemy Sniper with one use left on his Iron Sword. Ike lands an Aether, and the second hit does no damage! I yelled "WHAT!?" and then I realize that happened because the sword broke on the first hit of Aether. Now for the epic wins: Final Chapter on hard mode, Berserk Ashnard attacks Ike. If Ashnard hits, Ike dies! My heart almost stops as Ashnard brings down his sword.....and Ike dodges! Ike then promptly kicks Ashnard's ass thanks to Wrath and Resolve. On another playthrough, I was screwing around. I attack Ashnard with Mist, even though I knew I wouldn't do any damage. Ashnard can't hit for crap, because he misses Mist about five times in a row. Boyd got 16 Defense while still a Fighter. Soren maxed his Defense while unpromoted. Mia gains Defense with her first two level ups. This was random growth with no cheats, abusing, or items. But, to obtain, something of equal or greater value must be lost. And that value for me was Ike's Defense. It was 7 while Ike was level 20/0!!!!! On my most recent playthrough, I forged several Silver Swords for Ike. I gave them names like "NoSympathy," "Fight4Friend," and "SmashBrother." This has nothing to do with the RNG, but I think it's cool.
  14. Epic fails first (not all from the same playthrough): Final Chapter: Lena misses with a 98% chance to hit. Chapter 24x: Due to an oversight, I end up putting Julian in range of a sniper. I think "Well, surely Julian won't get criticaled!" I think you can guess what happens next..... First Chapter: Marth misses with an 85%. Later on in that same chapter,he misses twice in a row with a 90%. Chapter 20: I recruit Lorenz. Immediately after that, Camus rides up and kills him. Chapter 15: I am doing a Marth solo, and I send Marth to claim the chests. The mage reinforcements come in for several turns and prevent Marth from leaving the room. Chapter 14: During Enemy Phase, Catria and Palla both talk to Marth and get recruited. Immediately after that, archers come up and pop them. Epic wins (Again, not all from the same playthrough): Final Chapter (H5 Mode): Gotoh dodges a manakete that would have killed him. On a separate run, I finished Medeus with Elice. Chapter 2: While boss abusing, Darros repeatedly dodges Gomer and hits him, despite Gomer having a higher Hit% than Darros. I forget the exact values. As you can see, I've had a lot more epic fails than wins at this game.
  15. I am a suscriber of Nintendo Power, and Nintendo Power usually gives very good attention to Fire Emblem (though not nearly as much attention as this site does). I don't see any reason in heck why New Mystery of the Emblem won't come here. After all, it's got Marth in it!
  16. I wanna be an Armor Knight -> General. And, I want to be a GOOD armored unit like Oswin or Gatrie. General is my favorite class in Fire Emblem. It's fun to not take any damage from most enemies. I'm sure that this game will have about the same enemy strength as Shadow Dragon, and we all know how good Generals were in that game. But, if they bring back the Warrior Axe Critical from the GBA Fire Emblems, I might want to be a Warrior instead.
  17. I just got Action Replay MAX for the GBA, and I'm looking for codes for Blazing Sword. I am only looking for two codes. The first is the (M) code. The second is a code that will allow me to get a perfect level up every time (that is, gain all stats on a level up). I have found perfect level up codes for Shadow Dragon, Path of Radiance, and Sacred Stones, so I am sure that such a code must exist for Blazing Sword. I am using the traditional cartridge, not an emulator. Please, if anyone can give me these codes, that would be a great help. Thanks in advance.
  18. I've got some more rules you can add to your challenge. All units must be level 20/20 by the end of the game. Also, all possible units that can have a battle conversation with Ashnard (including and especially Reyson) must have that conversation and survive. What do you think of that?
  19. This playthrough sounds like it would be fun to try. Is there an Action Replay code to make criticals always occur? That's the only cheating device I have.
  20. I know you've already started, but why don't you make everyone gain Luck instead of HP? Luck will take quite a while for any unit to cap, and there will be less of a chance of having to reset because a unit got criticaled. Also, are you planning on using bonus experience on anyone?
  21. Here's some weird stuff about FE10: 1. It's possible for Elincia to miss with a 100% chance to hit. 2. The combat window LIES! It doesn't show the changed hit and critical rates due to skills such as Wrath and Resolve. 3. Resolve's description also lies! It doesn't increase Strength anymore, which sucks. It also activates when HP is below 50% of maximum, not 20% like it says in the description. 4. Most Fire Emblem games have several first tier units that start at low levels (1, 2, or 3). Radiant Dawn does the same thing, just for second tiers. Rolf, Mist, Neph, and Sothe start at Level 1, Astrid and Brom start at Level 2, and Rhys and Zihark start at Level 3. There may be other units that I am forgetting.....
  22. Hello, everyone. My name is Charpig. I have been looking at this site for a long time, and I finally decided to join. Fire Emblem is one of my three favorite video game series of all time, and I like all the good information this site has. I'm not on the Internet too much, but I'll post stuff when I can.
