  1. Don't get me wrong, I'm not degrading you, I just think the penalties are unbalanced. Every time a unit dies, you're basically forced to take a penalty, since if you go on without them you'll run out of army pretty quickly. And I still think Seth should be free (at least to a certain point) since he can help cut down on RNG-induced restarts.
  2. It's too bad it doesn't help his cause at all. (Now if it were a Leg Ring...) Amelia and Wendy are both growth units whose designers doesn't realise that growth units are meant to be superior to high base units at higher levels. Both are prime bench material. Performance-wise, Amelia beats Wendy for two important reasons: Tower of Valni exists FE8 is a joke If Amelia existed in FE6 though, she'd be worse. Incidentally, I don't get all this love for Cavalier!Amelia. Outside of drafts, she has to compete with SIX superior rescue-bots, a seventh joins soon after. And this is in LTC. In "ordinary" play, the only point of a rescue-bot is to retrieve squishies who have been left in range of an enemy. Is there really a niche for that?
  3. I had to see just what the hell you were doing... undrafted penalties stack? That's insane.
  4. Note to next person who starts a No-Reset draft; put some thought into what the penalties should be.
  5. 16 - 9/51 Lyn went up and got kills. Bartre and Matthew were trained. Hector 10 Matthew 11 Bartre 10 Eliwood 9 Serra 3 Marcus 1 Lyn 1 17 - 11/62 People who are not Lyn and Bartre went to the throne. It turns out Lyn can’t handle the reinhorsements. Bartre ran back to help (he’d been on chest duty, which was silly in hindsight), but couldn’t get any kills before the seize. Raven became 32 exp for Hector :D Hector 11 Matthew 13 Bartre 10 Eliwood 12 Serra 4 Marcus 3 Lyn 2 17x - 6/68 Lyn ran around the north, and everyone else went through the guts. Hector 11 Matthew 14 Bartre 12 Eliwood 13 Serra 5 Marcus 5 Lyn 4 18 - 11/79 Reinforcements are cool. Bartre killed the mages, while Matthew and the lords handled the eastern swordies. Then Matthew went to steal Speedwings for Hector. He also killed the boss. Hector 11 Matthew 16 Bartre 15 Eliwood 14 Serra 6 Marcus 5 Lyn 6 19 - 8/87 Lyn, Hector, Matthew and Marcus went south, Bartre took the eastern path, and Eliwood hung around Merlinus. Hecotr 12 Matthew 17 Bartre 16 Eliwood 15 Serra 7 Marcus 6 Lyn 8 19x - 11/98 Bartre solo. Matthew got the last bits of exp he needed from the reinforcement mages. Marcus got the kill. Too tired to write stuff. Levels gained: 91 20 – 11/109 Using Unlock, Bartre and Hector, Matthew could reach the Brave Bow on the first turn. Then Matthew ran to cut off the thief and steal a Member Card. Lyn and Marcus went into the northern chest room to help Matthew, and Bartre, Hector and Eliwood cleared around Darin and the reinforcements. 21 – 4/113 Beeline for Olegolas. 22 – 10/123 Heath finally joins. But he can’t bloody double anything. (Maybe I was too hasty with those Wings…) It wss annoying trying to keep the lords to as few kills as possible. Bought the hell out of Barrier. 23 – 9/132 Heath ran past one of the bosses to get to Pent. He is doubled even without being weighed down. :/ Eventually, I get Pent to safety, and Heath can carry Bartre to that other jerk hanging out far into the desert. Legault gets me another Guiding Ring. 23x – 0/132 Bartre and Heath had a field day. Serra promoted near the end of the chapter. 6. Might as well start. Chapter 11 7/7 Matthew nabbed a few kills. Hector 2 Matthew 1 Chapter 12 5/12 Why does neither Marcus nor Lowen have Javs FFS Hector 5 Matthew 2 Eliwood 1 Chapter 13 7/19 The Ma Men went south. Recruited Guy for his sword. Bartre, Serra and Lords went west. Met up to kill the boss, and forgot Hector is meant to seize. Hector 7 Matthew 4 Eliwood 1 Chapter 13x 7/26 Yup. Hector 8 Matthew 6 Eliwood 4 Bartre 1 Serra 1 Chapter 14 9/35 Pegasus knights ruining my shit again. Should have left Bartre behind, but he had a good run, so I'll leave it at that. 8. Chapter 1 – Here we go again: 10/173 Marth went to get the loli, while Luke and Alan beat up FE3-style axefighters. Then Marth went to the throne and talked to Lawrence. Chapter 2 – Luck be a Lady sword tonight: 6/179 I would either have had to incur the wrath of the dragon or the wrath of hunter spam in order to retrieve it, so I decided it’s not worth it. Marth hid in the forest until the cavs chased Alan, but went to the throne. The boss generously decided to move out of the way. Chapter 3 – Wild Dragon Knights appeared! 12/191 And here I am without a Blizzard tome… At least I have Aura, which works just as well. Paola drew as many dragons as she could, then went with Katua to will the mountain dragons with swag. Marth went to get Julian, then to the throne. Matthis is literally too pathetic to kill, so I recruited him. Oguma and Sirius cleared a path for him. Julian got an Armorslayer Chapter 5 – Thracia 445: 6/210 Julian recruited Ricardo, and Alan went after the northern thief. Julian and Ricardo used the magi as cover, while Marth, Kashim, Oguma and Luke attack the throne. Katua flies around, helping remove the tougher enemies. Chapter 6 – Lang is only two letters from lame: 10/220 Ricardo got the chests, then cowered in a corner, hoping to not attract the reinforcements. Kashim killed the bishops, and the others went to the throne, recruiting Navarre on the way. Katua and Luke were strong enough to deal decent damage to the armors without using the Armorslayer, which everyone took a turn with to take down Lang. Chapter 7 – They turk our urbs! : 7/227 Katua rushes at Mach 5 to kill as many thieves as possible. Thanks to some clever inventory shuffling, both Fina and Navarre don’t inflict a penalty on me. Marth makes his way through the forest to kill Pallette Swap guy. Nobody else really feels up to taking on a dragon, so I miss the Physic staff (I’m doing real well with that). Chapter 9 - Versus the Elimine Church, apparently: 11/244 Marth went to Minerva’s village, then to the throne. Julian and Katua beat up thieves, Ricardo got the chests, and the others removed the main army from Marth’s path. Chapter 10 - WTF, not FTW: 4/248 Ellerean dies to an Excalibur crit on the third attempt. Marth walks to the throne. Chapter 11 - I hate sand: 15/263 Ricardo gets the speed ring, Julian gets the power ring. Newly promoted Katua flies around, manipulating the flying dragons as much as she can. 9. Rating? Is this... my rating? 2/10 pretty easy to kill both times.
  10. Raven certainly has the drop on availability, though Nino has dibs on unpromoted enemies for her first few chapters, so she should provide good value. Serra - she wasn't my first choice (I would've like to secure a horsey as well) but she's quite useful. Heath - I chose him for my flier over Fiora because he has more solid growths, and looks cooler. Also Heath x Legault, if only it wasn't so slow I'd do it. BK - I had hoped a horsey or a magic man would survive this far, but it turned out to be too optimistic. So I buffed up my earlygame team. Nino - I was going to pick her second, but then I remembered mounts = good. All other prepromotes are either archers, or too expensive and their niche had been filled, so even if I didn't want her, she would've been an obvious pick. I predict she will be my best bargain. Geitz/Wallace - I honestly don't care about you guys, but Renault and Jaffar are too high levelled and Vaida is mean. Blegh, and I thought I was gonna be clever and spam Matthew... I bet Horace has already figured out all my clever plans. Horace, who is that girl anyway?
  11. I honestly couldn't believe I got Nina as late as I did, considering the goal of the draft. If there's one thing she's good at, it's being babied. Plus she's a staffie post promotion, which means she can gain levels without cutting into the limited pool of CEXP. I will make Schrodinger's pick. The last unit on my team will be simultaneously Geitz and Wallace, until I observe the levels of my lords at the end of the desert chapter.
  12. WRT Sharpoon, I assumed he calculated his score based on the in-game tally and forgot about the tutorial. I finished the FE7 draft number 29222 in a much more believable 248 turns.

Heath and Canas cleared a path for Hector. 31 and 31x: 11 and 5/230 OK. 32: 7/237 Rath grabbed Hector, sat on the fort. Sain grabbed Canas, sat beyond the forts. Nils danced Rath. Rath ran and dropped Hector. Farina carried Canas on turn 2. She dropped him beyond the mountains on turn 3. Heath used a Killing Edge to dispatch the warrior, and those three killed the second paladin squad. Farina lifted Nils over on turn 4, and flew off to recruit Renault. Heath sat within range of the fort near Limstella with Canas carried; next turn, he sat on the fort and dropped Canas. Thanks to Delphi Shield, the snipers couldn’t kill Heath even after he took a Bolting. Rath carried Hector over the river on turn 5. Canas doubled Limstella, inflicting lots of damage with Luna. Hector was dropped on turn 6, and seized on turn 7. 32x: 3/240 Eliwood was Warped to kill the door guard. Renault was danced, and Warped Farina to kill the swordmaster. Next turn, Farina opened the door, and Hector was warped in. Hector and Eliwood attacked Kishuna. Turn 3, Farina and Eliwood finished him off, and Hector seized. F: 7+1/248 Heath, Sain, and Canas dealt with Uhai, then joined Farina in killing Brendan. Hector and Eliwood dealth with Darin. Athos dealt with Kenneth and was Rescued so he and Renault could deal with Ursula. Athos was rushed to the top of the room, Sleeping Lloyd on the way. Linus was taken down collectively, then Lloyd. Athos and Eliwood dispatched Nergal. The usual suspects, and Canas, finished the dragon in 1-turn. Nils danced Athos to make it so.
  14. Tag Team draft has priority!
  15. Strong units. Weak units. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled players should try to win with their favourites. In any case, Wendy's far from the worst unit ever. Sophia, Lyre and Ardan exist!
  16. Knight Crest competition is actually a very good reason to diversify your team. Anyway, Kyle. Virtually identical to Forde, except in the areas they're not. Forde has the unfortunate luck of winning all the stats that don't matter, and speed. The last is NOT a significant win (1 + 5%) less than or equal to the three stats Kyle wins, all of which matter. (Incidentally, Forde's speed advantage disappeared when they try to wield heavier weapons.) It's not significant enough to give him a major advantage, until you factor in Franz. Forde's average stats make him inferior to a trained Franz forever, but Kyle wins defense and surpasses Franz in strength. So Kyle has a clear win over Forde. It's not the strongest argument, but it's better than "Forde will be str-blessed" and "Forde has first dibs on Silver weapons". 7/10
  17. @Elieson: Fair enough. @Refa: Do you mean their levels don't count towards your total? That makes sense, and is probably a better idea than an EXP penalty. @Boron: Usually, the penalties only apply if you use them to perform an illegal action, i.e. anything not specified in rule 1. That said, the choice of words is interesting. Does that mean you wouldn't take penalties for using, say, Lowen in ch 13 or Hawkeye in the desert chapter, because you didn't deploy them?
  18. I choose Fir's parents. On another note, since this is an EXP draft, penalties should be in the form of EXP and not turns, right?
  19. You don't get penalised for the first 275 turns. For every 5 turns you take beyond that, you "lose" one level from your score. The one with the most levels at the end wins. EDIT: And you also "gain" one level for every 5 turns less than 275 you take. Which kind of makes the specific mention of 275 rather redundant beyond boosting your score by 55?
  20. Maybe they're trying to get him to see the error of his ways? Though a softer approach would probably work better. On-topic: The ironic thing is that her shoes are pretty much the worst thing ever you could wear in the desert.
  21. I say we leave him at the mercy of Random.org! But that's mostly so there's less chance of him taking my next pick.
