  1. Her strength is pretty bad, and she has bowlock. Shin is a better nomad, especially on HM, but she does have some potential if you train her (have fun at Sacae). I give her a bonus point for recruiting Shin, but a point off for making me go to Sacae. 3/10
  2. The easiest way to beat the fatigue system is to have so many units at your disposal, you never need to use a unit in two consecutive chapters. Obviously, training more people beyond that point is a waste of time. True, but in the 'how can an inexperienced player manage a difficult game mechanic', it is the right answer. It's enough to easily beat the person going slow and unsteady.
  3. You're shooting yourself in the foot unless you use as many people as you can - I would say 15-20 is the minimum amount of units you should be using. Scrolls and 20 caps mean you're not affected by the reduced exp gain, especially in elite mode, and it's not like there are a lot of unsalvageable units. The game gives you about 50 units, why let most of them rot on the bench? 14. Slow and steady wins the race.
  4. Left foot in, left foot out. They're doing the Hokey Pokey!
  5. The only thing I want to add his HM bonuses are what really make him broken, as his somewhat suspect, critless beginning is bolstered. Fun fact: His name is Old English for rugged. 9.5/10, because notFriendly
  6. This is incredible advice. I can't believe it.
  7. The finest copypasta, like Mamma used to make. His combat is pretty pathetic frankly, his durability is pretty bad and he tends to scratch enemies twice if he inflicts damage at all, but that's not why you're using him, is it? His thiefing is his main selling point, and the fact that he's the first gets him major brownie points. You'll get a few chapters of use out of him, which is more than can be said for some other earlygame units, but once his level 10 compatriot comes around, unless you've been training him, he'll probably get benched. But Astohl can't get every chest in a reasonable timeframe, because Etruria and Ilia are assholes who can't even put their country's most valuable treasures in a single room so I can steal them easily, and using Cath is a special torture reserved for those in the seventh circle of Hell, so Chad can make himself useful. Just don't expect him to be swinging Durandal around. 6/10
  8. That's what it was designed to do.

  9. Chapter 6 - 6/48 The team used forests, the fort and the mountains for cover to endure the initial onslaught. When the cavaliers arrived from behind, most of the enemies had gone, so Garcia, Colm, Artur and Eirika moved towards the boss. Lute stayed behind to get some experience. Artur and Eirika reached the boss first; Eirika used the Killing Edge since Steel couldn't double, and Artur attacked, switching Eirika to Iron. The boss suicided on Eirika on the EP. Chapter 7 - 8/56 Colm and Eirika walked over the river, carrying Lute along. They skirted around the attack range of the mercs to the boss. Meanwhile, Artur and Neimi went north to knock off the enemies up there and provide ballista support of the main force. Murray was tough to take down, but the combined efforts of Eirika and Lute eventually prevailed. Chapter 8 - 14/70 The main aim of this chapter is use my team to clear out the enemies so Ephraim can have a clear run at the boss, and the cavaliers don't get attacked; he's the only one who can damage the boss reliably and can survive a couple of rounds. With 9 strength, AKA a single strength proc, he can 2HKO. Artur manages to get to level 14, so it's time to promote him. NAME LEVEL HP SM SK SP LK DF RS SUPPORTS Eirika 12.52 22 7 12 14 10 8 5 Garcia 11.03 33 10 7 7 6 7 2 Neimi 7.03 20 5 10 9 6 3 3 C Colm Colm 10.41 24 6 11 17 13 5 2 C Neimi Artur 14/1.00 30 14 13 13 5 7 15 Lute 11.74 21 11 8 11 17 5 10 Ephraim 9.88 28 8 12 12 11 10 3
  10. Don't be afraid to use stuff up, especially healing items. "But what if we need it later?" "I'm bleeding to death NOW!"
  11. His combat is pretty pathetic frankly, his durability is pretty bad and he tends to scratch enemies twice if he inflicts damage at all, but that's not why you're using him, is it? His unique utility is his main selling point, and the fact that he's the first gets him major brownie points. You'll get a few chapters of midgame use out of him, which is more than can be said for some other earlygame units, but once his level 10 compatriot comes around, unless you've been training him, he'll probably get benched. But that unit can't be everything and do everything at once, and he's the second-best, so there's hope for him yet. Just don't expect him to be swinging a Legendary Weapon around. Thany gets 7/10

Sturgeon's Law; for every one awesome old song, there's a hundred shitty songs you never hear because nobody cares about them anymore.
  13. I approve of this topic! Feels like I've had Sothe forever. And now he's gone. And I'm spared the dramatically ironic situation of wishing I had Sothe back instead of NPC soldier.
  14. If Knight -> Halberdier was an option I would think it would have a large Skill and Speed boost, and no Defense boost. But Knight -> Great Knight seems more likely. My hope is that they make Armour Knights 5 -> 6 move.
  15. Seth has no reason to be on this list, as he is never usable in a normal draft. As long as Warp is allowed, Saleh > Tana, and Artur > Joss and Ross. Duessel > Amelia. Even in Eirika, Duessel's bases are endgame material. Ephraim somewhere in Mid. Neimi should be higher as well. Unlike in other games, there's no possibility of Sigurd/Marcus/Titania/Jeigan solo, so early availability means something. She can help break walls in chapter 3, chapter 4 is a rout so every little bit helps, chapter 5 she can harvest villages or help clear the route to Joshua, chapter 6 she chips to reach the boss quicker, chapter 7 she doesn't do much unless Vanessaskip is disallowed, you have to wait for Ephraim unless you have a highly blessed Franz or Eirika so she can be trained a bit here. Beyond that, she chips until she gets a horse, which would probably be about ch 11-12. From there, I don't see L'Arachel being more useful unless you have a healer, and while Amelia is a little better due to more potential, she wouldn't do enough to make up for 7-8 chapters of not existing.
  16. I voted for Artur because of CC In-story they're mostly the same.
  17. You were serious about that subtitle thing? A few I thought of just this minute. Thany: "We'll rate Amity tomorrow" Chad: "Is it the Chad?" Dorothy: "More terrifying than a T-Rex" Lot and Ward are axe-users. They hit for a lot of damage if they hit, which is not often. Lot is the green axefighter, which makes him slightly more usable than Ward. They are useful against dragon and armour knights early on, but apart from that, they're not worth it in the long term, since they compete with so many people for a promotion item. It doesn't help that they're each other's only quick support. 4/10 Lot, 3/10 Ward Dammit change already.
  18. Chapter P - 3/3 You know how it goes. Eirika's level up was Skill, Luck, Defense. Chapter 1 - 5/8 Free Franz makes this chapter less stupid, without actually improving the TC. Chapter 2 - 7/15 Eirika visited the RG village, because she could. She headed near where the reinforcements appear to lure them to her, then south to the boss. Garcia managed to kill the enemies that headed his way. Chapter 3 - 6/21 Garcia and Neimi broke walls on their first few turns, and Eirika killed bandits. On Turn 2 EP, the bandit died on Neimi, the archer attacked her and thief attacked Eirika. Garcia finished him with Ross's hatchet, and Eirika moved forward. Garcia followed her, and Neimi tried not to die. On turn 5, she reached the boss. She couldn't proc one crit out of 4 with the Rapier, so Garcia had to land the hit on him on turn 6. Chapter 4 - 6/27 Garcia and Artur went to the south-east, Colm, Neimi and Eirika worked on the enemies near the start and the snag. After it broke, Eirika went down to kill the south-western monsters, and Colm and Neimi dealt with the reinforcements near the starting area. Chapter 5 - 7/34 Neimi was on village duty, getting the southern and eastern villages. Garcia, Colm and Artur formed a united front beyond the steps, Natasha right behind; they all left their opponents alive so that Joshua couldn't reach them and risk a crit. Then she could walk through the forest (after the enemies were killed on the next PP) and get me a Killing Edge. Eirika handled the bandits from the east, then went to the second-northern village. Garcia and Artur went armour-killing, while Colm got the last village. Chapter 5x - 8/42 Orson broke through, as usual. 19. Wendy from FE6. I used her in my first HM playthrough, and she was pretty good after an initial painful period. It's coloured my opinion of her ever since. There are plenty of other characters I use that aren't considered good, but become good after I stuff favouristism into them.
  20. Aside from durability and move, his guy is basically a second Marcus. His growths aren't fantastic, but with his bases, he still remains good for a while. The only downside is later on, he competes with Rutger for crests and swords; though there's more than enough to go around, anyway. 9/10.
  21. Just play it on normal. The reduced exp is not too much of a disadvantage.
  22. But the purpose of a march is to produce synchronised movement. The purpose of this subdiscussion is to determine what characteristics Zealot shares with other characters. If Banzai was of the opinion that Zealot loves his wife, and everyone else wasn't, he would be right. Seconding the opinion with Zealot is an Astoria.
