  1. Gameplay is reasonably good, the characters will probably be vindicated with the support conversations, the music is giving me some Fates vibes. As for the story, it appears to be kind of bland right out of the gate, of course things might be shaken up an little bit by the time Solm becomes available. As it is, this game feels like they're setting the foundation for something greater.
  2. I'm kind of divided on the voice acting, tbh. Nearly every else (except the story) is made out to be something extravagant or something and the only thing that's stepping up to the challenge is the gameplay and the customizability going on in floating castle. And there's also the music, I guess.
  3. Micaiah is essentially the White Mage counterpart towards Celica offensive magic. Her passive allows anyone to use an staff, attacking with her signature weapon slightly improves your vision on fog on those fog of war maps, her Engage Skill increases the range of staves by an fair amount. And her ultimate move completely heals everyone by one and reduces the owner down to 1 hp. But if it's used by an "dragon unit" then the up reduction goes down to 30% Personally, I think that it's an great way of farming exp; of course it won't be efficient equipping her with Alear. Other than that, it's basically turns basically anyone into an staffbot
  4. Heavy armor can't be broken and the have the usual weaknesses that we all know and love. Outside of the Tellius mage, whose name that I can't correctly spell, we can also set bonfires to shed some light within the darkness. Outside of, you know, seeing what's nearby, I think that they won't be that useful unless it's an consumable or something's following you. Might be interesting if they go out after an few turns, though
  5. New tweets are coming out about the Tellius mage and some other stuff This one looks interesting, though Btw, remember how we were complaining about how unfair fog of war maps are?
  6. But on the other hand, it's actually working because people like @VincentASM are willing to do their jobs for free (and usually outperforming them)
  7. There might be 2, possibly 3 more recruitable characters that isn't one of the 4 Hounds. But outside of the legacy maps, there's isn't an lot of room on the global map for the paralogues. Obviously, we see where Anna's is at; but between the backtracking that comes with the main story and the dozen or so throwback missions, it's kind of hard to imagine what else they have thrown in there.
  8. At least with locked rooms, you can more or less ignore them until everything near them has been cleared out. How many people does it takes to clear them if you're only using an thief to pick the lock to deal with what, exactly?
  9. Okay, if you're ironmanning an game that you've already played, what's stopping you from being ready for the ambush spawn?I mean, when was the last time those guys didn't pop out of an set of stairs or forts? Or the edges of the map? I might have had an similar issue in "Falling Short of Heaven" but I really don't remember much about that run, except that it took me an while to find the bosses. I think it was the only map in 3H that had me stretched thin. As for fliers in them, I'm going through this list in reverse order and I'm not seeing an lot of fliers in those maps. Sure, there's at least 2 Falcon Knights in Radiant Dawn, but your defending an fort in that one. I'm also seeing some pretty weak monsters in the 11th chapter of an GBA game, another where they're funneled through an fort or something. I'm halfway through, but an feels like nearly all the enemies within the fog of war maps throughout the series are ground units. Yeah, but it also eats into your budget and fighting capability if too many people go down in quick succession.
  10. I kind of disagree with this on the basis that fog of war works out for other series like Company of Heroes or XCOM (in Xcom 2, you're always going in blind without an certain upgrade to your frieghter) in the sense that you're supposed to know how to think on your feet once you start seeing people. At least with FE you can kind of cheese the experience by forming an wall or something. But is with you people and the inability to deal with the unknown? With most RPGs, you generally have no idea what the boss of the week has on him or what he was resistant to until you've went through it once or twice. And even if you do know what's coming at you, shit can still happen because the RNG fucking hated you. But hey, that's XCOM for ya. Here's the obligatory FE example. To be fair, he was asking for it with those rerolls
  11. I was talking about two separate units: Sorcerors with Waste and just about any flier with high accuracy
  12. This is something that I regularly do, fwiw. Of course, the main problem is that you occasionally don't have the time or the room to stay out of the opposition's attack range. I thought that the 3DS games had that feature? There kind of is, if you count the 7 or 8 tiles of unrestricted that fliers have and siege magic. Hinoka's last stand in Conquest not only did this to fliers, it also reduced the movement of everything else. There might be an tooltip in at least one of the newer games about stairs and forts, but reinforcements were mainly conveyed through dialogue in Awakening and 3 Houses. There's that border fortress in Birthright that had me laughing at the sight of that empty fort. But otherwise, reinforcements generally wasn't that big of an deal for me, maybe because I like fighting an unfair fight or something.
  13. True, but the dungeons in SoV might as well be an chess board. And this where I start disagreeing with you, since the AI is normally set to remain stationary until you walk into.their attack range. It's entirely possible to keep track of everything that's on the map; but this isn't really much of an necessity, considering how the battles in FE generally have several waves of combat. If you can enemy phase most of the shit that runs up to you, then you've got it made; if not, well, turtling is still an option, right? What happened to just going through nearly every enemy on the map and charting an path to avoid certain groups of enemies? Or at the very least, find an area where you can aggro them so you can kill them piecemeal? Aggro lines are nice, never really cared that much for them. But they're only relevant from when you're actually fighting to around 2 turns from before you start fighting. Otherwise, it's mostly an contest of killing shit as fast as you can before their buddies with an javelin line up behind them.
  14. Come on, you know how lazy NoA is when it comes to advertising this game. Outside of the three translated trailers, there really isn't an lot of coordination between the two branches
  15. Come on, man. You can't have everything that you want in life
  16. Well, the world map felt an little bit smaller than I was expecting; but you can't really ignore the fact how detailed it is. And I kinda doubt of the heavy weapons will see an lot of use unless you're plan on traveling in an hoard or something.
  17. There should be an actual, full scale battle inside an colosseum or something. And also, war chariots because that's how the Eygptians rode out onto the battlefield with style. Or just use elephants if you're feeling an little bit on the insane side. At least it's more efficient than dealing with an flying lizard that might bite your hand off if you forget to feed it.
  18. I won't be surprised of if is the White Dragon; it's kind of obvious that villains want all of the original ones to summon their cobra dragon god and they've already figured out how to make an synthetic Lucina ring.
  19. I wouldn't really call Engage an crossover on account that the rings aren't the main focus of the game; going by what dialogue that we've seen, they're more akin to the Heroes Relics from 3 Houses or an collection of personal advisors. As it is, they mostly feel like an rotating roster of secondary characters, given how an war was being started over the usual reasons.
  20. 30 seconds of Google gave me this.
  21. I won't be surprised if the Deeprealm thing is an actual thing, given how there's maps from "the past" are popping up on an irregular basis
  22. Are you sure that this isn't just from him going from Lv. 7 to Lv 1 with Jeigan growth rates?
  23. Well, the only thing that we'll be missing out on is replacing Cramme as an Qi Adept, if what you said is true. I kind of expect that Byleth would fill in this role since punching things is an relatively new role for FE; but I really don't see any of the other lords being associated with archery, though
