  1. Even just having two cavaliers at the beginning of the game already felt kind of overboard. They sometimes bordered on gamebreaking, and the addition of the Jeigan character made the game even easier. Instead of being a third in some trio, I like him being kind of the loner. Characters like Biraku Mattise and Lowen are inferior to their brotherly counterparts, but are solid enough if you want to use fewer powerful units or pick a cavalier for a draft. On the other hand, a trio could work if they were spread out over the course of the game like the pegasus sisters are. Imagine: a Cavalier Bros Triangle Attack. One can only dream...
  2. How else are you going to spread the word of Galeforce but by preaching to the nonbelievers?
  3. Well, he would definitely beat the other sages in an arm wrestling match. The pope would be a distant second, if only because of that amazing 10% Str growth.

While messing around with game after reading topic: How delightful! It seems like the game creator might have overdone it when trying to send the "stay away from strangers" message home. Although, it is cool to see a game where nice guys finish first. While doing my "normal" playthrough, it seemed like the majority of my time was spent just not being a jerk to anybody. Everything else just kind of fell into place after that. Boooring. But I do confess I didn't marry until I was like 50 or 60 years old
  5. In retrospect, this isn't actually too surprising. The exact thing basically happened to the Advance Wars series after the miserable sales of Famicom Wars DS in Japan. Since then, the US and Europe have only gotten one more Advance Wars game that didn't even see a Japanese release. This was around 5-6 years ago, so I'm pretty sure that's the end of it. After the uninspiring (but still decent) Shadow Dragon and the lack of a worldwide release of FE12, it seemed like Fire Emblem could very well go down that same path. Fortunately, Awakening relieved all of those concerns!
  6. C'mon guys, we can't keep calling Frederick useless and expect to be taken seriously. Someone has to marry and give support bonuses to Sumia, after all! Remember, Cynthia still learns galeforce even if losers like Chrom marry her!
  7. Gale Force isn't cheating, nor is it imbalanced, overpowered, or broken. It is simply really really really good!
  8. I am a filler image of a silhouette. S o m y s t e r i o u s ~
  9. Hey, we can't forget Thracia 776, which revolutionized Fire Emblem with its "Galeforce Stars" mechanic. Unfortunately, Sword of Seals had to be stupid and had to replace everything good about Fire Emblem with Wolt and Juno.
  10. I was totally expecting this to say "because it does not save turns." or because it's not galeforce Still, pretty amusing. I guess the skill is there just for the flair.
  11. Zero. I'm too boring and inactive to cause much of a stir.
  12. Of course he does. He has 60% of them!
  13. Yeah, I think my photograph accidentally changed the font to comic sans. Gotta get a better camera
  14. lol, this topic is so pointless. I just bought my copy from Gamestop last week and they already updated it with the new title. Sheesh, what's next? A petition to end slavery?
  15. Pssshhh, all you have to do is put Riff on a base and have an enemy thief attack him over and over again. At a super efficient 40 exp per round, he'll be level 20 in no time*! Watch out though; this method will deprive you of one of the game's most reliable characters in a low level run! *With terrible stats *With a promotion item that appears in like chapter 20
  16. I have a feeling Marth will be a workhorse since your lower level units will eventually have trouble gaining stats, whether it's from lack of experience or lack of growths. (I'm looking at you, Daros.) At least you will have no shortage of clerics to warpskip maps if disaster begins to strike! However it turns out, the more misery, the more fun! Edit: Video at like 10x speed with the audio replaced with music might be interesting if not a complete eyesore.

    Fire Emblem apps?

I've played through it about 2-3 times. It's okay enough for $4, but I wouldn't call it a steal. It's only 9 chapters, it's fairly bug ridden, the balance is wonky, and the AI can be slow and tedious. There also have not been any game updates since I bought it about a month ago. Overall, the game is a nice novelty, but I can't recommend it without any news on (much needed) updates. EDIT: Creator was on break and is fixing issues again.
  18. I've gotcha covered. Houston area, even!

    Heya Jedi.

Doin' alright. I'm almost out of school for the winter, even!

  20. 153+5=168? x_x So, 205 turns actually. Not too shabby. I'm doomed.
  21. I played through FE1 on a rom out of curiosity like over a decade ago. I had absolutely no idea what was going on, and the Japanese didn't help. Eventually, my characters all started running low on "numbers" (weapon uses) and I got really confused. I did make it to chapter 5 though, much thanks to the help of Jeigan and Doga. FE2 was a slightly different story. I got like everybody to 3rd tier in the 1st chapter's thief hideout. (I made almost everyone generals, lol.) Then, the game got so tediously easy I didn't get very far anyway. So much for all of that grinding...
  22. There's just not much to it. Use good characters and win. If you are doing a grindless run, then just limit yourself to only a few characters each route so your strong guys get enough level ups. After that, mindless charging with your characters/warping Alm onto a healing tile with a bow can probably win like 90% of chapters. Yawn. Still, I'd say it's more popular than FE1, which has been obsoleted multiple times.
  23. After getting to use him a bit in a couple drafts, I think FE1/3 Jeigan gets a little too much of a bad rap. His growths barely exist, but his bases make him easily your best unit for at least a few chapters and allow him to hold on okay for about half the game. Turns out 9 defense, a horse, and silver weapons make for a handy unit.
  24. Billford can be okay enough if he gets an early movement proc or two and promotes. (He can level up on some left ogres or something if your other units are busy.) The big shame with him for me is that he is swordlocked. If he got the weapon selection of FE5 generals, at least he would make an intriguing indoor movement. As is, he's a mediocre swordsmen with superficial durability.
