Anacybele
Nope, Azura has red hair. Though hers is darker than Eliwood's or Roy's. See, when I designed her, I thought FE didn't have enough female lords, and then I thought that the red-haired lords aren't nearly as good statistically as the others (Eliwood just doesn't match up to people like Ike and Ephraim, and from what I know, Roy is just plain garbage altogether). Azura is supposed to be on par with Ike statistically (maybe even a bit better, actually), so I chose to make her a redhead so there'd at least be ONE that's really good in battle. Plus, we've got too many blue-haired lords as it is (but I still love Ike and his blue hair. <3). As for Jerec, thanks a bunch, Florina. ^^
Anouleth
The colours are... weird? I'm sure someone can put into words better than I can exactly what's wrong with the colours, but they might be oversaturated, and there isn't enough variance in his hair colours. You might want to think about copying colours off an existing FE8 sprite and tweaking them from there.
Anacybele
The colors on Jerec? I can't use FE8 colors. He has an FE7 outline and skin tone. Also, I think I left the color of the cloak unchanged. Edited September 3, 2012 by Anacybele
eclipse
The colors on Jerec? I can't use FE8 colors. He has an FE7 outline and skin tone. So use FE7 red shades on his hair. Erk's cloak has some nice ones.

Actually, I think that's where I took the color from. I can't remember, it's been awhile since I made that mug. Parrhesia
The colors on Jerec? I can't use FE8 colors. He has an FE7 outline and skin tone. You... you CAN change these, you realise. Also I'mma guess son of Bryce because he's the only redhead amongst them, counting Tauroneo.
eclipse
Using GIMP's color picking tool with info window, here's what I got: Jerec's hair (lightest to darkest): #c02030 #903840 #784048 Erk's cloak (lightest to darkest): #c84838 #a84048 #983038 The difference between your sprite's hair's highlight/midtone shade is greater than the difference between Erk's cloak's jump from highlight to shadow. Also, here's something else I found: Your outline color: #5a4263 Outline color on the sprite sheet I have: #584060 If you need the sprite sheets, or some pointers on how to recolor (since fixing the outline color shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes), check the splicing tutorial. Anacybele
You... you CAN change these, you realise. Yeah, but it's easier to just look for a color that's already on an FE7 sprite. xP Also I'mma guess son of Bryce because he's the only redhead amongst them, counting Tauroneo. Bingo. ;D Eclipse: I see, thanks. And that outline color, that's odd. I can't imagine how that could've happened. I'll fix the mug another time though, I've been doing a lot of sprite-related crap lately, and as soon as I finish fixing up some old battle sprites, I'm taking a break. Oh, and I've seen the splicing tutorials a bunch of times before. Thanks, though.
Freohr Datia
I think the cloak colours might be too dark/saturated as well. I think it might be that it looks dark. =o It's so dark that the outline stuffs around the bottom middle at least look as if they're light parts of the cloak. Anacybele
Maybe you're looking at it on the Rajaion Red skin? Because it didn't look oversaturated until I posted it here and that's the skin I use. xP It honestly looks darker on a lighter background. Agro
Your Azura map sprite has two shades of red for the hair, whereas the normal Ally map sprite palette only allows for one. Just thought I'd point that out.

Ah I use the SF skin but I'm comparing it to the outline not to the background =b The background is what you shouldn't let distract you, otherwise there's no such thing as a too bright or too dark anymore because the background always changes. Anacybele
Yeah, that's true. But as I said, I'll be taking a break from sprite stuff for awhile.
Freohr Datia
Yeah, that's true. But as I said, I'll be taking a break from sprite stuff for awhile. Yes I read that much =3 I was just throwing it in for now~
Feaw
It's not really oversaturated, it's just too dark. It looks a lot like Raven's hair color, except even darker (and Raven's hair is pretty much as dark as you should go in FE7). The cloak is also way too dark for FE7. Messed with his colors, also brought him down to 16 colors. This should look better. Edited September 4, 2012 by Feawture
Anacybele
I could've fixed it myself, thanks. >_> Also, the cloak isn't dark enough. He's supposed to be wearing a dark brown cloak. And why does the number of colors matter? I realize that FE7 mugs don't have more than 16 colors, but I don't have to use ALL the game's limits if I don't want to. Nanami Touko
If you're gonna use FE7 colors and then say that stuff isn't dark enough, you're doing it wrong. FE7 colors are meant to be lighter and less saturated then FE8's, which is why they're not dark. If you want darker colors, perhaps you may wish to switch to FE8. Yeah, but some colors used in the game still look dark. And no thanks, FE8's colors tend to be too bright for me. Hurts my eyes at times. Feaw
> cloak is supposed to be dark brown. > why gee, what color is the cloak in my fix? white? Also, Im aware that it doesnt matter if it has more than 16 colors if you're not using it in a hack anyway, but you have several different skintones all over, so I just reduced it to 1. With some cleaning up it was down to 16 (hell, it was 14 at first, so I just threw in eye white and an extra eye purple (since I was using the outline first). But yeah, this is pretty dark even for FE7's standards. So if you want darker stuff, use FE8 colors (which are generally a lot easier to palette anyway). And saying FE8 colors hurt your eyes is irrelevant since you can just use FE8's outline, skintones and contrast and all that, but you can still make the colors less saturated (becuase FE8 colors dont /have/ to be super saturated). But if you're not good at making your own colors just yet, just stick to IS' colors. So either find good FE7 colors, or consider switching to FE8 colors. Also you don't have to be so negative about me fixing it. I just decided to do it becuase fuck, why not. It's not like you have to use it or anything. Anacybele
Looks more like a regular brown to me. But whatever. And if I had more than one skin tone, then that's a mistake on my part that I would've also fixed. But no one pointed it out until you brought it up, so... I stick to IS's colors if I can. But I'm not switching to FE8 colors. I've used FE7 ones for too long now.
Freohr Datia
Not dark? x3 Well The only other way I could think to cope with that would to be to lower the saturation of the brown even more... And yeah he was only trying to help you sounded really really disgruntled about that XD But anyway on the lowered saturation it ends up making it look like this instead Is that more what you wanted? Idk if anyone else thinks that looks bad or not but it at least might look more similar to what you want... Anacybele
Yes, that's much better, Freohr. Thanks so much! I'll use this new version of the mug since the hair is actually more of what I had in mind too. :) Edited September 4, 2012 by Anacybele
Princess Peachar
I stick to IS's colors if I can. But I'm not switching to FE8 colors. I've used FE7 ones for too long now. It's not hard to switch over to the other color styles. I used FE8 style when I first started and continued to do so for 2 years. But now, I've been hitting it with FE7 colors with the occasional FE8 style here and there. If you don't mind me dropping some advice your way, don't limit yourself to only doing one thing. Be willing to experiment with other styles. Be willing to experiment with changing RBY/Hex values. In the end, you can only get better, no? 8B
Anacybele
Yeah, but I've made so many sprites now, it would take ages to change them all to another style. If the style doesn't match, it looks odd.
