Momentai~
No, but Halvan's PCC is 4, higher than Othin's. ^ to elaborate, every character has an invisible stat called Pursuit Critical Coefficient which is basically a multiplier on their crit rate on their pursuit attack. They range between 0 and 5 and Halvan has a PCC of 4 which is among the highest in the game, so if he double attacks he is pretty likely to crit. Othin's is 3 iirc, also rather high. The Hezul scroll (and the other scrolls) prevent you from being crit but also change your growth rates while held, giving growths in some stats and taking away from others (sometimes). However they are always a net positive so you should aim to have scrolls on people when they level up. Chapter 4 is when things get exciting, so you're pretty close. Great, thanks for the info. Oh, I was pretty sure if he was captured, the game considered him dead. The more I know. That worried me for a second lol. Now I know to look out for Shiva in chapter 7~ Here's chapter 3 and 4! Chapter 3: I don't think he's capable of either of those things, but I'll just have to wait and see. *cough*Fin*cough* And our merry little band grows by two! Ok, so bring the children back to the villages. Seems easy enough. HP, strength, skill, luck, build. He's still being doubled by generic soldiers though. HP, str, magic, speed. It looks like he'll make a pretty good magic sword user at this rate. Strength, skill, speed Luck, defense. Umm, Ok? lol, I like that equipped weapons can be stolen in this game. Strength, skill, speed, luck, build. Nice! Hey, look who it is! I retract my earlier statement about never having seen civilians with 0 speed/skill. This time he's not as badly under leveled, but his bases and weapon ranks (or lack thereof, rather) more than make up for it. Strength, skill, luck Magic, skill, speed wat Did she just MISS? How does healing miss??? Can vulneraries miss too? LOL HP, strength, speed, build HP, magic, skill, speed HP, speed, luck OK, so something happened. I have no idea what happened to my stuff here, but the end of chapter 3 and most of chapter 4 got wiped. No images for a bit, sorry. A short synopsis: I had Jeigan 1, Jeigan 2, Ronan, and Marty (who I just realized gained a point of movement) go south to return the villagers while Leaf and Havan took on the boss and Lifis stored excess items gained from too much capturing/stealing RIP random door key in Safy's inventory While Safy was healing (well, she healed 2/3s of the time, and the other 1/3 she just flailed her heal staff around to no avail) Leaf during his battle with the boss, she got captured by one of the reinforcements that came from the north, and he took her heal staff and a door key. He stole Safy and her equipment, so I stole his life. I stole the heal staff back first, of course. Leaf took out the boss at around the same time all the villagers were returned, so he seized on the next turn. Leaf, Eyvel, and Lifis had no choice but to be captured by Redric because he was holding Nanna hostage. Everyone else escaped, but the general consensus was that they'd come back for Leaf. Chapter 4: Redric wanted to go to the arena. He wanted some eye candy on his arm that wouldn't make him look like a pedo, so he asked Eyvel to come along. She hesitated, but he coerced her into going with the promise of seeing Nanna and Mareeta again. Redric did that creepy laugh after the promise, and Evyel did an ellipsis which means something is going to go down. Leaf and Lifis were locked in jail cells with no way out. Leaf had some new allies with him: Karin and Fergus. They didn't seem to be too fond of each other however. Lifis convinced some npc brigands to do his bidding. Makua, Bryton, and Lara showed up to save the day and rescue them all. Lara unlocked the jail cells of all the captives and then everyone went treasure hunting, equipping themselves with items from various chests. The chests contained the items that Leaf and Lifis held in their inventories, I think. The important thing is that the civilians were freed, Leaf got his light sword, and Lifis got his lockpick. The civilians went to the east/west exits (with escorts of course) and escaped safely. The brigands escaped safely too. Everyone rushed to the north to prepare themselves for the enemies that most likely lay hidden behind the door. The enemy reinforcements were pretty close behind, so it seemed Leaf and co. would be surrounded by enemies on both sides. resume pretty pictures Ha, I knew it. Ok, this shouldn't be too bad as long as they all don't rush me at once. I need to move Lara out of the way first. Ah, this is the guy. A woman in one of the villages said Dashin would join Leaf's cause if he was told about what happened. Looking really cramped now Both Leaf and Lifis have the talk option, and Leaf's not looking so hot right now, so I think I'll let Lifis do the talking while Leaf heals. Welcome aboard! A meat shield is needed desperately now. HP, strength I gotta say, Leaf is impressing me. He took out most of the enemies in the room. HP, defense Strength, speed, build. HP, skill, speed, luck HP, strength, luck Time to go! I love this image. It's so deliciously eerie. It wont work this time, but sometimes it pays to ask nicely. I love the map sprites and face portraits for these two. /Ashnard Julius Likes: child hunts flowers Dislikes: children laughing/doing anything that doesn't involve being hunted Chapter 3 and 4 were interesting. The pace is starting to pick up a bit.
Jedi
Ah yes healing [edit Staves] can miss, you better watch out for that :P And no vulneraries can't miss that would be terrible Ronan got str thats pretty good. He is a pretty good magic tank down the road due to his absurdly high Mag growth lol. Edited November 30, 2012 by Jediwaki Kuno
Icon of Sin
Not just healing, but all staves can miss if the user has under 10 Skill (60% + (4 * Skill)). It's pretty funny for enemies to miss their status or warping staves and happens rather often during midgame.
Jave
Staves can not only miss, but healing ones can actually double!
Batter the Beast
The whole staff accuracy thing kinda sucks when you get a certain cleric with base 1 skill, a 25% skill growth, and access to two of the most useful staves in the game Edited December 1, 2012 by lolinternets

Momentai~
Ok guys so I may have a problem here. I'm on chapter 5 now and Eyvel just got turned into a statue. I'm guessing that was completely out of my control so I'm not really worried about that part. But yeah, I was planning on having Nanna and Eyvel make a mad dash for the door, but Nanna's 5 move was a bit of a hindrance, so I had Eyvel rescue her. As soon as Lifis opened the door a scene occurred that ended in Eyvel being petrified. The issue is that she still has Nanna. Does that mean that Nanna is petrified too and whatever happens to Eyvel happens to Nanna?

Yeah whenever you open the cell door or Eyvel gets captured that cutscene plays never have Nanna rescued by her or else this happens. I'd suggest having your back to the door Nanna right at it, Eyvel guarding her because they never get ranged enemies. Either that or have Nanna run for the door and have Eyvel distract the other guys in the main room. Both tend to work

Momentai~
I have another problem! I rescue dropped Safy in front of Shiva, thinking she'd be safe because he didn't attack anyone on the turn before. That resulted in this: Is there any way I can recruit him with Safy captured, or is there a way to get him to drop her so she can speak with him? Icon of Sin
Actually I think capturing Shiva with someone else, freeing Saphy, then having that person captured, freeing Shiva, could work. Jave
That wouldn't work, as freeing Shiva makes him leave the map.

I wonder what he will do with it? That'd be much appreciated. Oh yay, since everyone is outdoors now, some people can get on their mounts~ Your pegasus is gonna have to deal with plenty of man junk on his back. I hope no one went commando today. Welcome aboard! The iron axe was also for Dashin, but Dashin is now relegated to the role of neglected older sibling making way for the new baby Luck, defense dem 8s Skill, speed, build Strength, skill What a rip-off! What are they doing in the arena? Skill A thief really shouldn't be at the arena either HP, defense. Yay, no longer at base defense! It's still his lowest stat though lol. Momentai~
Chapter 8 and 8x! Chapter 8: Ah, and the dreaded fatigue begins. Everyone in grey except Havan is fatigued. xP It forces me to use other people and make my team a bit more diverse. I like it. Good, because Lugh Faris is an awful name. Sure, why not? It seems like things are looking up for Leaf. They're waiting politely for everyone to finish preparing for battle, it would be rude to keep them waiting. Come on Othin, I didn't put 3 scrolls on you just so you could JUST gain HP and speed. 2 points of HP is nice, though. Wow where did you come from? And you're an enemy? Say it aint so Marty! That was close. The alternative was for him to suicide on Othin. HP, magic, skill, speed, defense. no I just put Fin in front of you to prevent this... On my side? That's an interesting shade of blue. That's better. HP, strength, skill, luck, defense Peekaboo! I see you~ If anyone can figure out how an arrow goes through a building, please tell me. That'll patch Leaf's defense up for a bit. HP, defense, build No thieves, so I had to capture this knight in drag to get the knight proof. +2 HP, magic, luck. Finally, no more escape objective Dagda's mansion. I like the sound of that. Time to save them next~ Chapter 8x: Only Bryton is fatigued. Typical father, typical daughter Everyone else can get Dagda's scraps. If there are any ;-; Strength HP, strength. HP, strength, skill, speed, luck, build HP, strength, build HP, magic, skill, speed, luck +2 HP, speed, build They really did a horrible thing here. These guys were assaulted by at least 7 brigands. I think that's a bit excessive LOL. RIP fire tome, hello d rank fire! Still can't use elfire yet >.> A nice level for Safy It appears physic has no range limitations in this game. HP, skill, speed, defense Othin is amazing. I am not exaggerating when I say that he ALWAYS criticals at least once per battle. Strength, magic, speed This guy is no slouch either. The boss is finally revealed! 12 defense +10 from throne... >3 res ASVEL SMASH HP, skill, speed, luck Magic, skill HP, strength, magic, skill, speed Now that Lifis has all the treasure, Leaf can seize. Tamanoir
I didn't saw anyone saying it before, but if you finish chapter 12 in less than 20 turns, you can access chapter 12x. In this chapter, one of your character can become a dancer, but only if she talk to a certain someone first... It's your only dancer, so you may want to look out for this. Komeiji Koishi
You can create a poll by, iirc, editing the OP. You can make up to 5 polls with 20 options each. Nice LP btw.

Tamanoir
Another minor thing, even if it's a little late... You probably won't have any good lancers for the final chapters. They are only two characters who can use lances indoors. The first one is Dalsin, and the second one... come extremely late with an E rank in Lances... Silvercrow
Honestly I wouldn't dump everything on a simple character in this game (unless you decide you really want to use Shanam or something). Stat caps are low and you'll find later that character strength is really not the limiting factor in this game. You've probably gotten a taste of this already where you have guys like Othin that can oneround almost anyone, but the game still finds ways to throw moderately challenging scenarios at you. Just give stuff to people to patch holes in their stat or skill distribution. For example if you decide to use Olwen later, Ambush is super good on her, but if you don't you may want it on someone else that can deal a lot of damage quickly (like Shiva or someone). Constable Reggie
Good thing you're not using Carrion, he's boring. Also, your Leaf looks pretty solid for now, I doubt he'll need more statboosters, since he still won't be very good. I'd say dump everything on Dagda (exception of magic/build rings), since scrolls can greatly help the rest of the characters and Dagda can contribute well enough just with his base stats + boosters. You'd probably want to spread out the skill books, though.

The limit for the poll was 20 options and I had 21 units, so I cut out the highest and lowest level person in my party at the time. I already have quite a few mounted units, so Carrion doesn't really pique my interest, but I may try him out one time just to mix it up. I just thought one hilariously OP unit with 10+ move and a bunch of random skills would be amusing to have control over. Even better if they're all wasted on a healer like Safy. I'll probably regret it though lol. If you guys don't wanna see that I'll just distribute them as I normally would.
