1. Do you think it's possible for Socialism to be executed in a way that doesn't end disastrously?

2. Your favorite Fire Emblem class?

3. Between Gangrel and Garon, who was the worse ruler?

1. Orthodox Socialism? Not really. Since Marxism is necessarily about class war, and the Bourgoisie won't want to give up their stuff, that necessitates violence to redistribute it, and that pretty much always leads to authoritarianism. Social democracy, though, has been well executed by most of Europe.

2. Berserkers are hugely fun to use, especially when given a killer axe. Arthur with Hans' axe in the endgame oneshotted zombie Takumi with a crit, it was hilarious.

3. Interesting question. I'm going to assume that by Garon you mean Gooron. The way I see it is this: Gooron is harsh but fair. He has rules. You might not like those rules, but if you don't break them chances are he won't murder your entire town. There's a cold sort of logic to his rebellions are like weeds philosophy that I can sympathize with. Gangrel on the other hand has no rhyme or reason to him. Keep in mind this is Birthright Garon. Conquest Garon is a moron, trying to sabotage his own army just to make Corrin cry. Christ. Anyway, the other thing that puts Gooron above is this: it took the Hoshidans in Birthright an entire game to beat Garon's Nohr. It took the Ylisseans all of five chapters to beat Gangrel. Your honor, I rest my case. Garon might be a tyrant, but Gangrel is a fuckup.

The Lion King is pretty great overall. It certainly has the best message for kids, that being royalty isn't just about looking pretty, that when your asshole uncle tries to take your throne and ruin your nation it's your job to fuck him up. That's a lesson plenty of other Disney movies could use.

I think it's more responsibility in general rather than being royalty >.>

16. Was the Easter Rising of 1916 justified?

No, I wouldn't say so. I generaly think that using violence as a means of protest is very rarely justified, and the conscription of Irishmen into the army was not a good enough reason. As for Irish Independance generally, it's complicated. The British were dicks, the nationalists were terrorists, it was just a clusterfuck generally.

4. Favorite fictional monarch or head of state?

4. Hard one. I'd make it a three way tie between Reinhard Von Lohengramm from Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Eruca from Radiant Historia, and Princess Anne from Roman Holiday.

Well it was conscriptions and 800 years of foreign rule that actively tried to suppress local culture but I won't get into a political argument here.

Well yeah I'm for Independance, but the root cause of the Easter Rising, the spark, was conscription.

6. opinions on elizabeth bathory?

7. opinions on marie antoinette?

8. would you practice magic if given the chance

9. do you like goethe?

10. opinions on nero?

6. I think of Elizabeth Bathory what I think of most serial killers. Not a fan.

7. Marie Antoinette was one of the most tragically misunderstood figures in history. Most think she didn't care for the poor; this is simply untrue. At one point she didn't buy her children Christmas presents because she gave the money to the poor, to show them how Kings should treat their people. She was the victim of anti Austrian racism, which led to the people of France never giving her a chance and eventually to her death. She was also a damn good mother for the time, taking an active role in her kid's upbringing.

8. Nope. Technology does what magic does better.

9. While I haven't read much Goethe, I do like his philosophy.

10. Now here's a monarch who isn't misunderstood... mostly. Nero didn't fiddle while Rome burned, and his mother was a total bitch, but that doesn't change the fact that he was a bad person and Emperor.

11. Any wish? Ayup. Id exchange it for more power than what the devil has. He wants my soul, he can try taking it.

12. Galahad, in my mind, has the coolest name.

13. Not particularly, I'm not too into art.

14. Wu. They won, after all. I know where my bread is buttered.

15. Unfortunately, not too well versed in Irish mythology.

Impressions?

If you could write a history book, what would it focus on? What would you title it?

Does history provide any insights into solving the current political situations with China, Russia, and the Middle East?

Favorite historical site you have visited?

1. Terribly sorry, I don't think we've interacted before, except maybe in this thread. You do have a nice enough avatar.

2. I want to write history books about a large number of things. My first pick, though, would be: The Zeroth Cold War: Britain, France, Germany, Russia, and the struggle for world domination 1871-1914. It would focus on the rivalries between the great powers of Europe specifically in Africa and the Balkans.

3. I don't think that America in truth has that bad of a relationship with China. We pay lip service to the idea that we're rivals because being rivals with a dictatorship sounds good, but in reality we need each other. As for Russia, I think we need to admit that Ukraine has lost Crimea, and that Assad is the only reliably anti-ISIS force in Syria. I don't care how bad Assad and Putin are, they aren't the ones shooting up gay nightclubs. I think that history's big insight is domestically: essentially, we need to start enforcing the law again before it's too late. Anyone doing anything illegal should be arrested and charged. That goes for BLM people who block highways, that goes for Trump supporters who throw out journalists, and it goes for anyone who riots. Society needs rule of law to survive, and that is breaking down now.

4. I like Napoleon's tomb, and I like the town of Austerlitz, here in the Czech Republic, the site of Napoleon's greatest victory.

Hmmm...

Who is your favorite magical girl?

Do you feel that works that are considered 'racist', 'sexist', or whatever else now but where not at the time of their publishing should be condemned for such things?

If you had to become a Final Fantasy class, which class would you be?

If you were given $100 a day, scott-free, what would you do?

Would you rather play a good game in which Hitler is presented as a hero, or a bad game in which he is an undisputed villain?

In terms of the three kingdims period wei (or Jin I guess) was the dynasty that conquered the other two. Cao Cao is the most prominent leader (and first) of that dynasty. Not sure if you simply mistook the name.

Anyway, why blah?

1. I'm not that big a fan of the magical girl genre.

2. It really depends. If there's a work where, say, they mention in passing that women can't fight, or that black people are stupid, then I can forgive that. If racism or sexism is the entire focus of the work, though, not so much.

3. I feel like it would be most fun to be a Summoner.

4. I'd probably save for a few weeks to get a tv and a Wii U, then I'd alternate between donating to charity or eating at expensive restaurants every day.

5. Depends on how bad the game is. If it's so bad as to be literally unplayable, I kind of have to go with the good game. Otherwise, the bad game, definitely.

60. gilles de rais - framed or depraved killer?

62. on that topic, favorite christian saint?

63. which religion has the coolest stories??

64. opinions on cow cow (cao cao)

60. I don't see how he would have been framed. I'd say he was a serial killer.

61. She was a glorified cheerleader. I mean, it was amazing for a woman of her time to rise to those heights, but still, she wasn't that good of a commander. Also, unless we're to assume that God actually talked to her, she was possibly schitzofrenic.

62. St. Ambrose of Milan, definitely. He was just such a magnificent bastard in the way he brought more and more power to the Catholic Church, and J have to respect him for that.

63. Definitely the Greco-Roman pantheon. I don't think any other religion can beat a giant monster the size of a mountain attacking everyone and all of the gods going around fighting it and eventually imprisoning it in a volcano. That's fucking badass.

64. I'm generally not well disposed towards puppet masters like that, and especially not ones that lead to the collapse of the Han Dynasty (to some extent) but he was better than most. Still don't like him, though.

Also, why are your questions all in the 60s now?

In terms of the three kingdims period wei (or Jin I guess) was the dynasty that conquered the other two. Cao Cao is the most prominent leader (and first) of that dynasty. Not sure if you simply mistook the name.

Anyway, why blah?

Ah, really? I must have mistook Jin for the later Jurchen dynasty that Genghis Khan conquered. Whatever.

I chose blah first on Poptropica, because blah was the first word 7 year old me could come up with. I then found that there were 2126 other blahs, and thus the legend of blah2127 was born. I was for whatever reason so sentimentally attached to that name that I kept it around, and here we are.
