But other than those three, I can't think of many games that have done this.

Trails in the Sky trilogy kinda does this. You have moments where Estelle & Joshua each lead their own party, or interludes without any of them. It does it to a minimum though.

Echoes SoV has the Alm/Celica split.

Ys 8 with Adol in the present and Dana in the past.

Oh yeah, that counts, too!

Speaking of Trails, CS2 does it with the Interlude chapter when you play as Lloyd for a while. And CS1 has the field studies where you have different characters each time (though Rean is always with them, I guess).

Trails basically dropped the non-MC parts after Sky (except for that one Lloyd interlude). Rean always being there sours anything anyway.

I want Dancing Girl back!
I agree. The regular arena theme is kinda meh, honestly.

And the best song in Persona 5 just got 1,000% better.

There is a certain something to have songs performed live.

Audience is going nuts, too. Which is totally understandable.
This the best Trails track. Easily.
And I haven't even played the game it's from...

---

Speaking of amazing battle themes played live, here are three for the price of one!
And three of my absolute favorites at that.

Back when Falcom had the best OST in the industry...

sadly, the old gang all left 😕.

If someone asks me what defines a final boss theme, i will easily say '''The Azure Arbitrator''. It's the song i put on the end of every gaming ost playlist, to finish off the list, so to say

And now Gust has those reins. In my opinion, at least.
That song rocks, though! Seriously.

You do that, too? Funny! My go-to track for the end of every gaming ost list I have is (surprise, surprise) Lucia from NoA 2.
But yes, "The Azure Arbitrator" definitely deserves the final boss theme label.

It's the three final battle themes played on after the other: Wicked Battle, Wicked Flight, and Serpent Eating the Horizon, all from Bravely Default, in case you want to look up the in-game versions.

Vocalized character theme. Should have been in the game, tbf.
Also, Edea best girl.

That i can agree with. Their ost is usually pretty damn high tier

hehe.

Yeah, usually when i am doing any chores i ready up a playlist of like 20 or so tracks and always end it off with the Azure arbitrator xD

*nod, nod*
Atelier, Nights of Azure, Blue Reflection (minus some battle themes)... Gust's OSTs have been nothing short of awesome so far.

Same here.
Only with Lucia instead. XD

Here's the trick: they're actually all the same person!
But the blue one on the right is a flanderized version of her from the sequel (although still the same person), and not as well written as her counterpart from the first game (the one on the left).
Which I don't mind, because Bravely Second is largely lighthearted comedy anyway. And she's my favorite character in both games.

Absolutely! And this is the (selectable) boss music for another Atelier game (the regular boss theme is an instrumental version of this).
Meruru is the only Atelier protag to have her own theme song.
And you already know the first area theme of another game of theirs.

The outfit she has is available for her in Bravely Default and for a different character in Bravely Second (for some reason).
As for that version of Edea, I think I remember reading she's from an online game of sorts? That whole thing is kinda screwy.

Funny you should say that. I was in the area where this plays just earlier today. XD
But yes, this theme is great!
DSV has an amazing soundtrack in general. The boss theme is one of the most intense and "You're severely f***ed"-inducing video game themes I've ever heard.
And then the OP, which became my favorite video game OP after I listened to it for the second time.

The other boss theme I miss dearly in MegaNep. This, and Dancing Girl are among my favorite Nep themes. Actually, just themes in general.

Nothing to see here, just the very best Trails OP.
Again from a Trails game I haven't played.

Tbf though, the MegaNep wasn't lacking anything. It was amazing even without awesome tracks like Dancing girls.

If i didn't know that you tried to run it and your pc didn't wanna, i would've told you again to play it xD

Maybe not as good as Dancing Girl and MegaNep stuff, but it's the first Nep boss track i heard, so i remember it fondly ❤️
