Well, as a kid I didn't found anything bad in doing so. Nowadays... nope, still nothing. The implication here is that he's much younger than usual than his brother. I think. But if you want something more classic... Mario does have a few anime movies as well. The live-action one was like, Hollywood's attempt to bank on Mario's popularity. I think Nintendo actually didn't had much input, which is why... well, if you were to see it, you'll definitely tell.
