Megalovania is just the bane of old guard Live A Live fans. Advanced on the minor Thieves' Guild jobs to eventually unlock the reputation quests and finally turned in the current quest and started the next one. Also finally cured my character of lycanthropy. It's nowhere near like, Kitsune Hell or Reunion at Dawn levels of godawful. A couple of really cool things happen in it. But then, the map itself is just mediocre. Walking for 30 turns while dealing with annoying ambush reinforcements (though some of them can be stopped, at least), which is even more annoying because the game manages to avoid the issue otherwise, making the reinforcements either non-ambush, small time or even surprisingly well designed, in the case of chapter 19. There's one particular part of this map where you have to trudge through a 1 tile corridor with heavily impairing terrain for three years. And the map's main gimmick and time limit is ruined by one of the aforementioned really cool things, which is kinda dumb. So yeah, all in all, not an enjoyable map, in my humble opinion. It's important to recognize the flaws in things you enjoy. Still, 1 map out of 26. The other two maps I described as bad have been redeemed by me understanding and playing them better. Everything that isn't chapter 22 is consistently good-to-great, and even chapter 22 has a couple of sweet moments. Honestly, that's a pretty fine score, if I do say so myself. Hey. At least it wasn't that much of a bother. Just gotta get Zade down there and it's back to Good Map Land.
