I'm pretty sure I'm at the endgame of Dread at this point, since I defeated the last E.M.M.I. and have what is presumably the last power up, but I'll probably finish it tomorrow. Though based on the bosses I've fought so far, I suspect beating the game might take all day. Dread lived up to Fusion's example in that respect.

Spoiler

I enjoyed the E.M.M.I. chases so I was a bit disappointed that the last one went down in a cutscene, even if it shows how powerful Samus has become. Though the purple E.M.M.I. could hear you from anywhere so I suppose the developers couldn't top that.

The hardest boss in Dread is still easier than Diggernaught.

I've observed that Dread's bosses are more manageable once you've memorized and learned to evade their attack patterns, especially since the Flash Shift makes dodging easier. You'll usually die a lot before you memorize the pattern though. The Diggernaught's final phase is partially luck based which is why fighting it is particularly difficult.

You signed up for this, Rex.

It has been suggested the ancient Spartans sought death in battle because their food, infamously signified in their "black broth" was so bad that war and death were merciful escapes. The same might apply to Mythra's cooking.

I very strongly recall the impression that Vesperia was an intensely character driven game. The story isn't really very cohesive and the world of Terca Lumireis isn't very interesting

I think I'll agree with this.

but the character interaction is probably the best in the series.

...But not this.

  • Yuri carries the cast, hard.
  • Repede is a dog, plain and simple. He can't not be good, if not developed whatsoever either.
  • Judith is mostly good. She can match Yuri's coolness with her own.
  • Karol I mostly don't mind.
  • Rita is okay, but the game should say out loud the unstated fact- that she regards Estelle as a living blastia and that's the initial reason she even cares about her.
  • Raven, not a whole lot would be lost if he went and died. As the old person in the group... well he is no perverted lech, that's a positive, but I'm hard pressed to say something genuinely good about him.
  • Estelle is naught but a typical princess with special abilities.
  • Flynn... I want to like him, but the game never shows him to be in the right. Flynn is practically always wrong, and Yuri always right. It's not a balanced thematic contrast like the game thinks it is.
  • Patty is a nice girl, but fish stinks after three days. Her jokes eventually wear themselves out. No offense to her herself.

IMO Vesperia is largely overrated. I will take the Symphonia's cast over Vesperia's no problem. I think I'd take Xillia's as well.

I actually wish things were more plot-driven. The game should've been Kingdom vs. Guilds, Flynn vs. Yuri, and all the values the contrasting institutions represent. Instead, the game can't help but squander its narrative potential in favor of trite matters. And going in this direction would require we give Judith a new reason for existence. I somewhat regret buying it at full price (not helped by Namco throwing it on digital sales so frequently).

-Although I respect alternative opinions when it comes to video games.🙂

That's Group 1 accounted for!

Let's wait and see how it will look like for Group 2

I thought I was with Ruben and Armagon at the end last time?

Not that I would dislike being with you two, I just didn’t want to drag down the pros at Fates lunatic, if you recall 😂.

Yeah pretty much. And it's not like the fights are bullet hells like Mother Brain or some Fusion bosses or.....Diggernaught. A lot of it is pretty manageable imo, especially later on.

It also helps that the major bosses tend to drop resources a lot. The minor ones, not so much, but they go down quicker anyway.

The final boss, after getting his pattern down, i nearly won without taking damage. I said nearly caused i accidentally Flash Shifted into him trying to avoid him lol.

I actually would like to see a boss rush mode added in. These bosses are too good to only be fought once per playthrough.

Fight's also just way too long so deaths are very punishing.

Why did Spartans have shitty food? I mean, primitive cuisine aside.

The annexation of Canada was Fallout canon from the very first scene.

Indeed. But I think it was 3 which gave us the exact date of when it happened. I think.

The intro video reminded me how I don't think the games have showed proper the full process of the opening and closing of the Vault doors.

Black Isle Studios games show the mechanism rolling the door, but not the one that puts it in or takes it out from the hole. Then the Bethesda games show the mechanism putting in and out the door from the hole, but not the one for rolling it. Like okay.

The real reason he got sick. FE dads fall in combat. Can't die in combat if you can't participate in combat. *taps forehead*

Lon'qu and Tharja, F! Robin and possibly Henry / Stahl / Chrom??

So you're mostly considering it as is.

It's a little annoying to deal with Chrom support if you decide against pairing Chrobin, but again you're early enough to pull it off.
