Rules (adapted from Integrity's)

- Ratings are for Normal Mode.

- Votes need some explanation regarding their gameplay performance to be counted. If somebody else said what you want to already, quote them explicitly.

+/- ≤1 point extra regarding personality/appearance is encouraged, but no more. If you exercise your bias privileges, please do so explicitly.

- Votes are made out of 10. You cannot rate a unit above 10 or below 0.

- The rating topic will be updated whenever I feel like it, but I will try to allow at least 24 hours for each topic. They will generally be updated at around noon EST.

- A character being inferior relative to another character does not explicitly reduce their rating.

- Characters do not get credit for recruiting others or allowing access to side quests.

- Assume that the character in question is being recruited.

- Characters do not get credit for bringing items.

- I reserve the right to ignore any votes which are not well-supported.

- You may allow a character to use scrolls (and adjust their rating appropriately) so long as it is reasonable (you may debate what constitutes "reasonable" if you feel people may disagree with you). You cannot arbitrarily increase a unit's score by arguing that they may exclusively use half a dozen scrolls for themself. In general, scrolls will probably not add more than +1 to a character's overall rating.

- Warp skipping has an impact on scores in so far as "Safy has an high base staff rank". Nanna would score lower than Safy because of her lower rank, but no chapter is explicitly said to be skipped. You can't get Warp and then suddenly say every character after doesn't exist or requires turns to recruit. Something could be said of Xavier, or Conomore/Amalda who are in an escape chapter where Leaf starts next to the escape point.

Vastly inferior to pretty much everybody. He has no skills, no PCC, and not really any weapon ranks to speak of. Overall just weak, but gets a slight bonus for being mounted. 1.5/10

He's probably the better of the Lance Knight duo since he specializes in Strength and Defense. However, while Carrion has good weapon levels, a couple of chapters of easy training and can use swords while mounted, those guys are left with little to be useful.

He does have fairly good potential, but there are alternatives that don't require as much training or ressources and offer a few more perks, and even then some of them aren't that great to begin with.

3/10.

Kein isn’t that bad. Fin may be at a higher level by now, but Kein will get more strength, defense and build then Fin. His only downside is that he’s very underlevel and his poor weapon ranks. Overall he’s worth using, if you wish to train him that is. Beside, An Abel/Kain unit is always a must on my team!(unless it’s Vanilla FE4)

Lets see think about Kein: No skills, no personal weapon, can't actually use lances dismounted, horrible indoors low pursuit critical, bad bases, his class is just an inferior cavalier, and he's a disgrace to the original Cain.

Also his ending says he puts down his SWORD when he is a Lance Knight, once again showing how fail he is.

Overplaying his growths while trying to downplay his flaws. GG.

Yeah but if he wanted to use swords, why wasn't he a cavalier instead? Same with Alva.

because he wasn't trained in using the sword on horseback

christ

Besides, 'putting down your sword' is a common phrasing for something that should be simple to grasp. He stopped fighting, at least as a career.

Kein is nothing special and a pain to raise. His growths should make him by all accounts one of the best characters in the game but sadly he has 1 PCC, low bases and a low weapon rank, meaning NO KILLS FOR YOU. yo man whatever, you could do better or worse. 3/10

He can be good, but he's ridiculously underleveled at this point in the game and every mounted unit you've been using at this point outclass, so no need to bother.

4.5/10
