    Maybe a mild gameplay spoiler

What do Kliff and Faye say if Celica recruits them instead of Alm?

    Along the lines of...

"Yo, is that you Celica? Man, it's been so long."

"Man, this village is pretty boring now that Alm's gone."

"Do you mind if I tag along?"

Or if you meant the actual conversations, I don't have the English files atm. But it's pretty much that XD

Also, her interactions with the other Ram Villagers in the beginning plus her interaction with Celica should Celica recruit her instead of Alm were pretty nice. Speaking of, does Faye even have Base Conversations on Celica's route? In the original, the thing where Celica could recruit Kliff was just an oversight on the developers' part but in Echoes, recruiting Kliff and Faye with Celica is an actual thing you can do, so i'm wondering if Kliff and Faye have their own Base Conversations on Celica's route.

Unfortunately not. There's a special flag set so they must be in Alm's party for the conversations to unlock.

The developers were well prepared : P

  3. I personally wouldn't want to see too many gameplay changes to the game, but I would welcome quality of life stuff like a proper battle preparations screen. Maybe base conversations to give you hints about how to progress and additional background.

Also maybe add more paired endings outside of Roy's harem.

Oh, actually, I would totally love the Hasha characters to be in there somewhere. Maybe there could be an Al's story after you beat the game? That's probably wishing too much though XD

At the least, I would want them as DLC characters. C'mon IS, you know you want our money!

One more thing, I would love some more throwbacks to Blazing Blade. Shadows of Valentia did a pretty good job with throwbacks to Marth's games and Awakening.

  4. Some are timed, yeah, but I'm afraid I dunno the specific timelines. I remember the Alessio quests being timed; I think they expire after Chapter 2, 3 and 4 (give or take).

A few of the later quests give you stat-boosters and the Dragon Shield. I think you can get Exotic Spices to exchange for Golden Marks as well.

I haven't mentioned it on the page, but some quests can be repeated.

EDIT: Added which quests can be repeated.

I've just checked the official site and I think it mentions Lando-Ema and Shade-Yuzu supports and some bonus items.

Thanks, didn't even think to check : P

Yar, you get new base conversations with all 4 characters too.

The new items are the Trainee Knight's Lance, Whimsical Lance and Warrior's Blade.

Also, judging by the stars, they are battle maps.

Does Celica's army still take damage while Alm is going through Act 5?

    Nah.

Are there any guide-dang-it things I should know ahead of time?  Like A Rank with Kaze, take away Orson's weapons, get to level 7 with Nils, etc?

Nothing major, but some things I thought were important and easy to miss.

Many weapons can be upgraded to unique weapons, such as the Golden Dagger to Celica's prf sword.

Faye really ought to be a Cleric to learn Again/Anew.

    Thanks for answering.

That sucks about the difficulty thing. Guess I'll start out on normal and save hard for any replays.

Just to clarify, what are the time constraints on the Alessio quests? Is it to complete the requests within a certain number of days/turns, or is it to complete them before a certain point in the story?

    Certain points in the story.

The first one is easy to remember, since he mentions the month (before Chapter 3 begins IIRC). I dunno when the other two end or begin, except the Steel Lance quest expired when I returned during Chapter 6 (when I finally had them...).

    So, two questions:

    1. Is it possible to change the difficulty during the game at all? Like if I start off at hard, decide it's no fun, and want to switch off to the easier mode, or vice versa, can I do that? Or is it like Awakening where you have to start a new game if you want to play on a different difficulty level?

    2. Are there any missable quests? I heard one person say that one quest asks you to kill a certain kind of enemy in a certain place, but that kind of enemy stops appearing after a certain point in the story. Are there any others like that?

    1. I don't think you can change difficulty mid-way through. Certainly didn't see any options.

    2. Yes, but not for the reason you're suggesting.

After a certain point, all monsters will spawn again, so those quests can be done at any time.

The quests that you can miss are timed ones. I think they're the ones involving Alessio the Merchant. I know I missed the Steel Lance quest : /

Nice interview though the question about Shadow dragon confuses me a bit.

Because with new characters and a more updated story it seems to be Echoes which is changing things up while shadow dragon sticked to traditions to rigorously.

It really depends on your perspective.

Mechanically, Shadow Dragon has a lot more stuff that is different when you look on the surface. For example, Reclass, forging, sidequests to help players will massive losses, Loan Units, multiplayer, etc.

I personally think Echoes has a similar number of changes, but the Shadow Dragon changes are probably more, I dunno, memorable for some?

I have yet to see any overt pop-culture references in SoV, so it's miles above Awakening so far.

Fates is just a bad translation where the localizers took basically every opportunity they could to change shit.

I can sympathise with preserving originality, but Fates's Japanese text was pretty lackluster so there really wasn't much to lose. Turning Saizo x Beruka C into a joke conversation was the only thing that went too far IMO.

Continuing my previous train of thought, it is actually hilarious to realize that the Whitewings participated in FOUR battles against a "Big Bad Evil Dragon" (tm) over the course of a grand total of a mere four or five years or so (Medeus as an Earth Dragon, Duma, Grima and Medeus as a Shadow Dragon). Char comes a close second due to participating in battles against three of the those four over the course of three or four years.

You know what else is ridiculous? Est is captured in every game she appears in, even Awakening where she's a DLC character. I guess Heroes is the one exception, but you could say she's being held hostage behind a paywall XD

Anyway, um, I guess I'll keep quiet until more Echoes names are dropped. Not sure what else there could be though. The Angel Ring mentioned in one of Minerva's base conversations maybe? Oh yeah, also the name of the star shards in the Astral Temple DLC.

Wait, so players have to go to the 7-Eleven store inorder to get those event DLC items similar to like how we usually get the Event Pokemons that gets obtained the DS and 3DS games when they were distributing for a limited time in GameStops? I think I did been to 7-Eleven before and it was a convinent store.

Yeah, pretty much. At least you get around 2 months.

I think 7-Eleven is very big over in Japan. They've had numerous collaborations before, such as Pokemon, Animal Crossing and I'm tempted to say Monster Hunter. I bet that's not even half the list!

Do you think there is a way to get those items without connecting to this hotspot ?

I know there is some ways to emulate a fake Nintendo Zone, but a fake 7-11 Wifi ?

I haven't heard of a successful spoof. Apparently the 3DS has to connect to a private network.

If it was possible, it would've be done much earlier since 7-Spot has been used to distribute rare event Pokemon before.

  14. Do you know when it usually happens?

I remember my game crashing all the time on my older phone when I was idling in my friend list. I *think* it got my stable after newer versions came out.

Also everyone, I ask for a moment of silence, for my poor wallet. I spent $40 for orbs to try and get Julia and Linde...

    ... No luck...

I'm sorry to hear. I was so tempted to spend for the mage girl banner, but I can't seem to access the orb purchase screen. I guess I may have dodged a bullet?

Anyway, results seem... expected. I just hope there are enough multipliers for Robin so I unload all my spare flags.
