Gonna be joining Team Azura 'cause it's that or Corrin for me unless I get bizarrely lucky with my remaining free pulls on the New Year 2019 banner and I haven't actually bothered with Corrin since last January.
So, if anyone wants a Myrrh to counterkill people, provide Fortify Fliers and/or absorb Kumade+'s debuffs, my FC is 9001374634.

Azura's Legendary Banner gave me Veronica today.
+HP/-ATK, but hey, Veronica's a healer so her ATK isn't super important, plus I could reasonably get pitybroken by her in the future to get a merge that could fix her ATK bane (and +HP might be enough to let her take a hit after Hlidskjalf is applied so that could be useful even if I never pull her again), so I can't really complain.

Did they change the description of Staff Valor? I could have sworn Staff Valor only granted extra SP for healing the last time I checked.
Pretty sure Staff Valor gave extra SP for kills too, though I may be misremembering how it worked when I was training up Halloween Mia.
@Vaximillian @DraceEmpressa I completely forgot about F!Grima. Was that before or after RGB Bows were added?
It’d be nice to see another Colorless Dragon or two in the future. And a few Cavalry Dragons, since we have ‘em for every other movement type.

Ah, that makes sense. Although, going from Blárowl+ to ATK/RES Solo Tome is a bit similar to Ragnarok’s refinement, in that it completely changes how Mae’s default weapon works once it gets refined. I still like it a lot.

So Julia's (assuming that first one's for her 'cause Divine Naga already has Dull Everything by default so it sounds like the second effect would go to Divine Naga and thus Deirdre) gonna get Close Counter? Were there any requirements to get CC to activate like how Saber's Golden Dagger requires his Special to be ready before he can sword people from a distance?
That weapon you said was for Seliph makes sense for him, since getting doubled is a big problem for him.
@Jingle Jangle That seems pretty good, like Ragnarok but more tailored toward Mae's statline. Although, why ATK/RES Solo instead of Brazen ATK/RES? Still, I want this to be a thing now.
So, just thought of some refinements:
Gwendolyn - Adorable Knight
Gwendolyn's Lance | MT 16 | Grants Special Cooldown -1.
Skill-Refine: If the number of Armored allies within 2 spaces > 2, grants ATK/SPD/DEF/RES +3 during combat, and if unit initiates combat, unit attacks twice.Oscar - Agile Horseman
Oscar's Spear | MT 16 | If unit has WTA, boosts ATK by 20%. If unit has WTD, reduces ATK by 20%.
Skill-Refine: When at least 1 Infantry Axe and Infantry Bow ally are within 2 spaces, grants ATK/SPD/DEF/RES +3 during combat, and if unit initiates combat, unit attacks twice.These two's effects represent their games' additional Triangle Attacks, with Gwendolyn getting the Armor Triangle Attack she could do with Bors and Barth and Oscar getting the Brothers Triangle Attack he could do with Boyd and Rolf. They both keep their default weapons with this, Gwendolyn because I like Slaying effect and Oscar to complete the Prf-Gem-weapon set with Titania and Palla.
Nino - Pious Mage
Wordless Tome | MT 14 | Grants ATK/SPD +5 during combat when adjacent to at least one ally.
Skill-Refine: Grants ATK/SPD +4 during combat when an Infantry Sword or Infantry Axe ally is within 2 spaces.Nino puts down her Bladetome and picks up a new book that maximizes her offenses with ATK/SPD Bond 3 and a conditional ATK/SPD Bond 2 that works when an Infantry Sword or Infantry Axe ally (for examples, Lloyd and Linus) are within 2 spaces. Her defenses remain weak, but Desperation can patch over that flaw of hers, and the extra power and speed Nino can get from stacking ATK/SPD Bonds (especially now that it's available as a Sacred Seal as well as an A Slot skill) could be good for her.
Tharja - Dark Shadow
Waste | MT 9 | Inflicts SPD -5. Unit attacks twice when initiating combat.
Skill-Refine: When unit initiates combat, grants SPD +6 during combat.Tharja gets a Brave tome, which actually existed in Awakening so it's not just because I wanna see another Brave tome and think Tharja could be pretty alright with one. The Skill-Refine is just to help Tharja quad more, since she has the SPD to do so.
Would any of these be too good? Not good enough?

Nah, Deirdre just needs a way to nullify adaptive damage on Divine Naga and then to keep Dull Everything because honestly that’s not a bad effect to have, especially now that Hone ATK 4 is a thing and opens up the possibility of other +7 stat buffs showing up in the future and Legendary Azura being able to give +6 and +7 to all stats on buffed allies.
Seriously, Deirdre and Julia would be so much better at Dragon-slaying if they could force Dragons to target their much higher RES. It’s why I was seriously considering giving my Deirdre Mystic Boost before I found out she was getting a refinement.

SpoilerI saw a datamined skill on Reddit that was Close Counter & Null Adaptive Damage, and another that was Dull Ranged+Close & Null Adaptive Damage, so I’m thinking those could be for Naga and Divine Naga, respectively. Bracing Stance 2 for Julia could be neat too though, and was what I would’ve guessed before seeing the datamine stuff.

Also, Sigurd's Divine Tyrfing should be th the refines too, since we have both Naga tomes.
I’d bet on either Slaying + Wrath (like Berserk Armads on a tome) or Slaying + Wo Dao (we don’t have a Nameless Blade-alike for tomes yet, and +10 damage on Special activations would probably still be good on Tailtiu if IntSys thinks Wrath might make her too good) for Tailtiu’s refine. Hoping for something with optional Wrath (because I can’t see them giving her Wrath as the base weapon), and I don’t think they would give that on a Bladetome (though I would love to be wrong).
I expect Julia to be able to get both Naga and Divine Naga’s refinements, but I wouldn’t complain if Divine Naga’s refinement was locked to Deirdre, if only so Sonya and Delthea could get their own personal weapon refines without having to share with Merric and Linde.
Sigurd’s Divine Tyrfing is a pretty alright weapon if you want Sigurd to tank stuff (possibly Seliph too, though unlike Sigurd he’s slow to the point where most foes will double him and doesn’t have Crusader’s Ward to neuter the follow-up attack), so I’m not sure it really needs a refinement. Seliph’s Tyrfing needs a pretty good one though, as Defiant DEF 2 As A Combat Buff Rather Than A Field Buff wasn’t that good when he debuted in 2017 and it hasn’t aged well since then.
I’d like Seliph to get a Tyrfing with Bracing Stance 3 and an optional Follow-Up Ring (since he could theoretically get it in FE4 I think, and it would be a good way to buff Seliph and reference the SPD buff that FE4!Tyrfing gave without having to give him +20 SPD on initiation or something), but I know that’s a pipe dream.

I dunno if there’s evidence at the moment, I just think that’s the case ‘cause her base kit is weird for what she is (she has Chill RES, despite being a Lance unit and thus not able to target RES, and Pivot, despite being a Cavalier and thus not needing Pivot to get around). Plus she’s the only unit with 4 skills instead of 5 in this batch.
Laeg still looks pretty good (she’s basically her normal self, except slightly weaker stat-wise and with horse-movement and Lances), and we won’t know for certain that she’ll be the freebie until the banner trailer drops and doesn’t feature her, but she looks like a freebie.
@Anacybele New Year 2019 Banner will probably be around for most if not all of January, so you‘ll have plenty of time to shoot for Icebro if you want him and get lucky enough to get who you want on the Laguz banner quickly. Alternatively, just wait until he’s on a Legendary Banner so you (probably) have a better chance to get him. Worked for me with a few seasonals (Spring Chrom, Love Abounds Lilina&Roy, Bridal Tharja, PegaNino who isn’t a seasonal but her inability to fly into my barracks made her feel like one), could hopefully work out for you.

Legendary Azura’s banner just gave me Flying Nino (+DEF/-RES, basically neutral) and +ATK/-HP Eir (my second pulled Eir). Definitely happy with this result, since I really wanted Nino 2 for a long time.

I am interested in whether or not we’ll see undead Gunnthrá though. Not expecting it, since Book III seems to be ignoring Book II’s characters at the moment (unless Fjorm died offscreen, but I would expect someone to mention that if it happened), but it could maybe happen, and if it did I’m interested in what she would end up being as a unit. Maybe she’ll be a Mythic unit? Original Gunnthrá is a Legendary, after all...

It’s also really not that useful for most units, except maybe on Armors since they can’t move all that much.
Also Laegjarn has no Special, and she doesn’t have a Link Skill to justify not giving her a Special like Halloween Niles did.
And Laegjarn is a Lance Cavalier, for whom Pivot is really not that great because they have the largest movement range of any movement type and thus can just walk to whatever space she’d be Pivoting to unless she’s Pivoting around a Flying ally to get around a forest or something. She looks pretty good stat-wise too, like her regular self except on a horse, but her odd base skillset (in the below spoiler)

Or Thrud’s Thoron. Tailtiu is a descendant of Thrud, after all, even if she can’t use Mjölnir.
I do like that Tailtiu’s finally getting her Prf though. And Julia’s finally getting hers too! I’m not sure which one I’m looking forward to more! (mostly because I saw some datamined info that may or may not have been Julia’s new Naga and if it is then that’s gonna be quite hard to top)
Also, having seen the new banner, I like it. Probably not gonna pull on it, gotta use those Orbs for Beasts, but if I get lucky enough to pull someone quickly on the Beast Banner I could see myself trying for a New Year 2019 unit.

SpoilerCertainly an interesting sword. Makes running her with herself an interesting prospect, since they both do debuffs and regular Gunnthrá gets effectively 16 free damage on whoever gets Hikami’d as well as her usual 12 damage on the sap who got Chilling Seal’d and being able to benefit from any other debuffs supplied by her teammates.
And all the other new New Year weapons give Chill effects too. Which is interesting.
SpoilerFjorm’s basically Summer Takumi: Green Edition with a Chill SPD bow. She’s neat for sure, but if you can pull him on this week’s Legendary Banner, you don’t really need her.
@Vaximillian They’re not putting last year’s New Year units on the TT+? I was sorta hoping they would.
Oh well, at least we have free units among the bonus units this time.

Holy fuck this banner is much better than I expected it to be
Every color has at least one unit that I would like
Still prioritizing Red because literally any focus unit there would be amazing (Marth is Marth and I like Marth, Tiki is either to be merged into or to merge into my current one, and Flora is kinda consolation-prizey but still would be neat), but now Green (Hector, Nino and Helbindi would all be pretty neat) and Colorless (Veronica I want because I didn’t take her for my free pick and regret that, Takumi can be merged into my current one, and Eir is Mystic Boost fodder and I wouldn’t mind having more of that) and surprisingly enough Blue (Azura carries this entire color by herself because she seems that useful, though my Raven wouldn’t mind Shield Pulse if I pulled a second Fjorm) are also worth trying on.
Not sure how much I’ll really try on this one though. Gotta save at least a little bit for Laguz.
Also, Grima finally missed one of these.

Well, I was gonna try for Marth anyway, and probably always will unless they give regular Marth the Exalted Falchion, but with Legendary Azura’s arrival Blue could give me something nice too. Gray Waves looks stupidly good (imagine combining this with someone who has Galeforce), and Prayer Wheel is a great late Christmas gift to everyone who wanted an easy way to get +6 on all stats for their Bladetome and/or Laevatein. She looks awesome, though she is a ranged dancer so I expect her to be the glassiest of cannons.
The fact that Azura interests me pretty much ensures that I won’t be pulling her (don’t think I’ve pulled a Legendary I don’t have, on their banner or on a rerun, since Lucina, so I’m not getting my hopes up), but good luck to everyone else!

Hi, I pulled a second Eir back during her Hero Fest, and she's +DEF/-RES. Is that appreciably better or worse than neutral Eir?

Although, thinking about it now, Myrrh may result in getting entire teams that are Green, and given my experience with monocolor teams in Voting Gauntlets that might not go so well... Would you guys rather have a Legendary Ryoma [+2 | +SPD/-RES | Wo Dao+ (DEF) | Glimmer | Swift Sparrow 2 | Bushido | Goad Fliers | SPD/DEF 2 Seal, it's probably not the best setup he can run but it nukes pretty well] instead?
