  1. You forget to mention she could also use swords unpromoted. And, that her green hair, the signature trait of all Jugdrali playable and multiple if not all unplayable Pegasus Knights, along with the staff usage as Falcoknights, is what served as the gameplay + hair inspiration for Elincia. And that she is Lewyn's T776 canon wife heavily suggested as a possibility in FE4. Although Gen 1 Genealogy has only 3 females left to add and 9 males.
  2. Would probably like these Eeveelution fanarts.
  3. ...What is to be expected? There is little time for pregnancy once Gen 1 is over. You need the 2nd Gen because the 1st ceases to exist, the 2nd wouldn't have fought if the 1st Gen still could have. This isn't true of Awakening or Fates, where the 2nd Gen was never needed barring Lucina. Although to be fair, you have some time between Chapters 1 and 2 starting, not sure how much. Six months pass between Chapters 2 and 3, and Sigurd's crew seems to have spent about a year in Silesse, mostly in peace but including the civil war, before they went off to fight the final battle in Grannvale. Tailtiu I know was pregnant when Gen 1 ended. Silvia's second child Caipre might not have been in the womb yet when Gen 1 ended, or if he was it was before she could tell. Her Alec Chapter 5 conversation speaks of no pregnancy and only Lene, Cairpre is likely the youngest Gen 2 unit as well. Given the year in Silesse, it's possible Ethlyn had Leif inside her while never having been on the battlefield during that time. Ayra would only have been pregnant once, since Larcei and Ulster are twins. In addition, Kaga once explicitly stated that what you see on the map in FE4 isn't what actually is. There are many "invisible" grunts fighting alongside you and against you, FE4 as Holy Sword Elm Kaiser was going to originally have the squads idea Three Houses is now reviving. With this in mind, you could I guess canonically see each female as not doing as much battle as they would if things were smaller, like Part 4 RD and Ena or Louise in FE7, where what you see is largely what actually is. -Not wholly excusing things, just providing some context and counterargument because I tend to like to balance things. The "Gen 2" part applied to all three of those listed games. Since whilst it cannot be argued that Fates is not the best represented, its 2nd Gen isn't so well covered, and I was being kind towards it. As for Groom Sephiran, the most likely outcome I could see is you now having to respond to Interdimensional and to Observer, maintaining internal unity of existential being would be difficult in such a scenario. The problem is FEH is slow to add new characters and has only so many slots per month for so many loved and deserving games. Furthermore, I'm a Tellius fan, but I don't want it getting flak for favoritism. I don't want it be favored if that happens, I want all games to be treated fairly and no such claims to the contrary to be producible against any game. Tellius had been in need of new additions for quite some time, but after Gallia, I think it was time to stop it for a while (at least a few months) and this Bridal is crossing the line. Glad to see someone so happy! And to provide some evidence to support the bold: Marcia: You were always like that. Unlike Commander Sigrun, you never once commended our unit. You think you understand us, but you don’t. You’re just heartless and frigid.Tanith: Don’t you get it? Why do you think I’m coming down on you so hard!?Marcia: Excuse me?Tanith: I wouldn’t normally say this, but… I had high expectations for you, Marcia. I thought you could take the reigns and someday lead the Holy Guard.Marcia: What!? Where did that come from? Back in Begnion, you said nothing about any of this.Tanith: Do you think I would say something like that on my own? I have no choice now. I’ll offer counsel to the commander, and see to it that you have a place back on the Guard. If you come back, I might just forget all about your desertion. Reyson: Do you still think I am of no value because I do not fight?Tanith: No, Your Highness. I hadn’t realized how valuable you could be. I was arrogant, and I was wrong. To think I’d intended to protect you, and yet you wound up saving me. I have dishonored Begnion.Reyson: It does not matter. As long as you understand that I need no protection.Tanith: No, it matters quite a bit. I’m in over my head. I cannot remain here, not after this humiliation. I return at once to Begnion. There, I shall await the judgment of the apostle.Reyson: You jest! It was a minor tactical error. You needn’t abandon us for–Tanith: No… Dishonorable discharge is the only path left for me… The apostle charged me with a task, and I have failed her.Reyson: If you will not listen to reason, then I see only one recourse. I appoint you as my escort. You have fulfilled your apostle’s orders.Tanith: But, Your Highness, I have already seen that I will be nothing but a burden to you. How can I protect you?Reyson: I will protect you. We will protect one another. Remain here, and fulfill your duty.Tanith: Your Highness, I would be pleased to accept your appointment. I have misjudged you once. I swear I shall not do it again.
  4. Oh. I was just trying to be a little considerate. But those hypocrites don't deserve so much of that, particularly if these people are the same ones demanding abstinence-only sex education. Thanks for the information.
  5. And she also gets a collab appearance! Anna got nothing on that! I guess Begnion has decided to legalize gay marriage at the same time Taiwan has. Sanaki must have been compelled by her "maternal" figures and their forbidden but true romance which for their sake she had to bring out of the closet. -I'd write about it, but I've exhausted my gayship creativity for now on OifeyxShannan. And I just remembered another thing about Tanith, this: Tanith: I may be a fine warrior, but… It’s embarrassing to admit, but I can’t even crack an egg without hurting someone. The last meal I prepared at the academy took three of our finest generals out of action for nearly a month. Inherit a food weapon on her perhaps?
  6. Sigrun was 422 RD and 455 PoR on CYL1, 415 RD and 435 PoR on CYL2, and 205 in CYL3. Tanith was 498 PoR and 597 RD in CYL1, 522 PoR and 605 RD in CYL2, and 358 in CYL3. Sigrun is only an NPC in PoR, whereas she becomes playable in RD, so that explains her ranking. Tanith is a very solid prepromote in PoR with her very unique Reinforce skill in a game where fliers rock. Hence her PoR version ranks higher. But the CYL results show neither was exactly popular, though 205 probably isn't all that bad by Tellius standards for CYL. Although Astrid was 177 on CYL3 I see, and would have made perfect sense as a Runaway Bride on this banner just castrate her two contenders and leave them off the banner. Lucia (152), Volke (155), Boyd (180), Stefan (189), Edward (204), Jill (52), Ilyana (67), Jorge (161, meme), Shinon (86), all also ranked above Sigrun and were skipped. 206 CYL3 was also Sephiran I'm seeing. His normal attire could easily pass as wedding wear: Volug was 210 as well, and we all know he's dressed for the consummation. Ashera was 212. How about New Years'? How else am I going to pop the cork from my champagne but by throwing an axe at it? Pugi is the only axe classy enough to be worth using for the job. Begnion, the country Sanaki rules, as the Holy Pegasus Knights and the Holy Wyvern Riders. The latter serves the imperial Senate, the former the Apostle. Sigrun is commander of the core of the Holy Pegasus Knights- the Holy Guard- which serves as the Empress-Apostle's bodyguard, and Tanith is the subcommander of the Holy Guard. Sigrun appears only as an NPC in PoR, but becomes playable in RD. Tanith joins in PoR as a very good prepromote, who can summon 2 semi-controllable NPC Pegasus Knights and 1 Falcoknight twice per battle to help fight. Tanith rejoins with Sigrun in RD. She also has a slight preference towards swords over lances. Both share in an unshakeable devotion to Sanaki, serving her regardless of anything that is said about her. Sigrun is serene and kind, though she can muster anger against those who oppose the Apostle. Tanith is strict and gets angrier easier, with a less feminine and more "manish" appearance. Tanith means well, she isn't a mean person at all, but her young subordinates in the Holy Pegasus Knights fear her, while they love the gentler Sigrun. Delicious! Thank you!
  7. More Tellius bias, this time via Seasonals. Hmm... not exactly what I think the duology needs at the moment, let it chill IS, you're giving it bad name with this much exposure now. Please don't let the next NH be Tellius, give it to Archanea or SS or Thracia or TMS or even Gen 2 Genealogy or Awakening or Fates. And give us some non-Reinhardt/Olwen Jugdral alts, a whole bunch of them please! Was Sigrun even wanted that much? She doesn't get that much development in RD, if still sorta ample screentime. Tanith had supports in PoR and a little in RD too with Sigrun. Sigrun is nice, if not great, and Tanith is the same. Light and airy breakfast sweets, but not rich buttercreamy cakes with decadent fillings and a crunchy almond meringue in the middle. I like them both and I like Pent a lot too, plus Louise is a good wife, but my face is currently blowing like Final Smash Jigglypuff, Seasonal Allergies and all. And this hurts, because the Charlotte Curse is likely to condemn them to these Seasonal forms only.
  8. Women are capable of acting against their supposed own best interests. Men aren't the only ones who can, neither sex is perfect. Now one can take a condescending "Forgive them Father, they know not what they do" approach to such women as they would with "stupid" men. Though I think it's best to avoid condescension and dehumanizing the enemy and just focus on a cold impassioned beating them back through legal means. The topic of abortion is one wherein I can see powerful emotive grounds which can bind the pro-life side to their cause. Whilst I do believe it to be a right, it's a touchy subject and personally I'd rather it not used as foremost form of birth control (not saying it is). One should be able to use it if they want to or need to, but I'd suggest circumventing the issue if possible on an individual basis by avoiding conception in the first place through use of other means.
  9. Only in FE11 I think. SF doesn't list stopping weapon durability loss in its FE12 description of the Starsphere, only its +2 to most stats, and I don't recall any weapon durability loss stoppage when I played FE12. Although you can buy Tiki more Dragonstones- but they're still limited if you don't really stock up and they're a bit pricey. Overall the Spheres got nerfed compared to FE3. Star lost infinite weapon durability, and saws its +30% universal growths boost turned to a less broken flat stats boost. Light no longer negates Crits and effective bonuses (which for a time means two Iote's Shields in FE3), Life went from restoring all HP to just 20, and Geo lost its +10 Hit bonus (I get why they removed the "attack everyone for 13 damage three times" property.
  10. Irreplaceable fond childhood memories, even if I can see all their justifiable faults nowadays: Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn Childhood memories I overplayed to the point of present exhaustion with it: Sacred Stones Childhood memory I gave away as a child and thus lost access to until like a decade later when it was fresh again; also, my entry for the franchise: Blazing Blade I can understand why the Japanese are fond of it, and I can envision it as FE's A Link to the Past: Mystery of the Emblem Game I should like more than I presently do, but don't because I played it too soon after the above game: New Mystery of the Emblem Do not do as I did and attempt to complete entire chapters for this game in one sitting with a computer that got hot playing it. Might have a been a bit more enjoyable if I did change that.: Genealogy of the Holy War I'm not sure I'm suited for the intense challenge of this game at times, but my first playthrough was unforgettably fun for the rewarding challenge of it all: Fates Conquest Despite being a lacking on map design and thus it not having its strategic potential fully realized, I nonetheless found myself playing this more chill game more than the above, because it wasn't so nailbitingly hard.: Fates Birthright I had my genuine fun with this thing when it first released, I appreciate it as being a tribute to the franchise as a whole: Awakening I was playing too efficiently to slow down enjoyably use this game's weaklings, but I still enjoyed the gameplay on the whole: Binding Blade I sold this at some point to clear my oversized game collection and no longer have access to it, but I did enjoy it at at the time, and it make some silent improvements: Shadow Dragon Played this more than I should have given the map design issues (~4 runs), but can't deny I still found it fun; P.S. the Cipher quartet was real neat DLC: Shadows of Valentia I don't think this was playtested very much, still, uhhh... its final battle wasn't as bad as I first thought it was?, and umm... it does let me use nearly everyone. Although I wish characters were more usable outside of Normal, I'm not that casual.: Fates Revelation Maybe I'll play you eventually, but with SoV and SD and FE3B1 under my belt, your archaic nature and having these other experiences put me off from doing so: FE1, FE2 Better translation to come soon! I'll be singing it's praises to high noon! I just hope its faults don't drive me to the moon! Leif regardless in Gen 2 you were a boon!: Thracia 776 I am Nyna, I want to love you, but I can't; I am Hardin, I want to be loved but aren't: Fire Emblem Heroes I can't play put gameplay over roster selection here, I'm sorry; but on the plus side I LOVES MY FASHIONABLE PAINSTAKINGLY CRAFTED AND NOT GENERIC BLACK SHORTS/WHITE FUNDOSHIS MALE UNDERWEAR!: Fire Emblem Warriors Darned you SRPG Maker and your unfriendliness for translation efforts! I want Vestaria Saga!: Vestaria Saga and it's sequel games Darned you my current computer, I can't play TRS on you for some reason. But hey, it got me to try emulating other things, all good experiences: TearRing Saga Aethin I can't wait 'till its done, hopefully I'll be able to run this delectably exotic take on FE gameplay when it is, I have been using Czene as my badge for forever.: Berwick Saga Sure it's plot is bad and the characters aren't anything special, sure it's not what we were expecting I was myself very bitter when it showed itself to be what it was. But now I laugh off the absurdity of its silliness and in a way just let it roll off me. Better than being bitter about it; save the bitterness for chocolate. The gameplay is very SMT which I like, if with a few faults of its own, but I did really enjoy it and the dungeons were good enough for me, if not Nocturne level. The game does ooze its style and flair too. And I'll not stop hoping for this game to get FEH representation, and are willing to provide any wishing to hear anything about it relevant information. Although I'm trying to cut back on my excess promotion of this game on the FEH boards which I think I did before: Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Tiers? Are those like layers? Because I do like mille-feuille. -They aren't? Well then I'm making a cake out of petit fours!
  11. I forgot that, FE12's limited supports did well here. That's a plausible answer, Michalis himself was a Macedonian nationalist with a little Gharnef manipulation now stay together Europe or Medeussia is coming for you!. Anri's Way does lose much of its significance if one drops Medeus though. Since the little story that happens during it is expose about dragon decline, until at its very end Gotoh explains at the Ice Dragon Temple the origins of the Fire Emblem and Hardin's manipulation. Anri's Way however in the context of the War of Heroes: Marth vs. Hardin, which is the forefront conflict of Mystery B2, total filler. It's a separate strand in the plot, connected to the other only by manipulation of Hardin to achieve its villain's goals. The dragon vein and the evil emperor are certainly better intertwined in Binding Blade, where the former becomes the latter's shock weapon and dream (a bizarre dream given only War Dragons exist, but a dream nonetheless). Though that game's copy Grust Expedition/Macedon Rebellion- The Western Isles- is worse than Anri's Way. You're right that Gharnef is pretty tacked on, he does more than Medeus- who sadly exists only to SPEAK IN ALL CAPS and do nothing else- but is probably less necessary. Why couldn't the Darksphere have simply been discovered at Thabes after vanquishing Gharnef there? Marth wouldn't have known what it was at the time, it gets passed around by his troops, a bunch of them return to Archanea and either sell it to a merchant who sells it to Hardin, or they present their new king with it as a gift. Regardless, Hardin gets it, it corrupts him because Nyna still doesn't love him, all is good for the plot. Medeus could resurrect without Gharnef- Gotoh makes the point the seal on the Earth Dragons is approaching its end. It could easily be imagined that in the year after Marth's victory over Medeus, the seal wore away to a tipping point, where its shackling effects began to decline at an accelerated exponential rate. In light of Faye and her ending, not to mention we already have Marisha in the same game, I hesitate to think to what lengths Nyna could end up going.
  12. Definitely agreed. FE3 Tiki is very unique and powerful, but balanced. Being able to 1-2 Range 2HKO everything is amazing, but permanent 0 AS keeps her offense in check. Being able to hit the 20 Def cap easily with a Dracoshield or two, 40+ HP, and a rare high Res stat (capped with Mage Dragon) is incredible, but always being doubled and things like Snipers and Heroes having well over 20 Atk means she isn't absolutely invincible. On the durability side, she furthermore has the one of a kind (well two with Bantu) property of having a Def stat against enemy Dragons and via the Divinestone tearing heavily into them as well; flight when shifted into Divine and Wyvern are yet more boons. 18 uses per Stone + a minimum of 5 turns per transformation with a 50% chance of 11, means Tiki never has to worry about running out of attacks. Knowing all this made auto-benching Tiki in FE12 disappointing. Going to the Fae format for Manaketes was a bad move. I agree that Minerva should have kept Macedon. Minerva's political weakness seemed just like something to drag her character down with for no reason but to create peril that Marth has to resolve. But... Nyna ceding Archanea was fine, she is just a princess who doesn't seem to have had much political talent herself. The King of Aurelis is old, childless, brotherless, and explicitly asked Marth to have his kingdom when he handed him the Lifesphere. Caeda married Marth so Talys makes sense. Jubelo and Yumina are only little kids, so Grust being passed on to the established matured talent of Marth works, even the twins could technically could inherit it later after a regency. Gra used to be part of Altea and Sheena might not have ever spent much time at home b/c Daddy was mean and she fled to Archanea as a child. Marth already rules Altea. This makes six of the Seven Kingdoms of Archanea, only Macedon is not in Marth's possession. Leaving Macedon alone independent would be a little weird I could see the writer of the time thinking, so Minerva had to cede her throne so Marth could form a unified holy continental Kingdom of Archanea, in direct contrast to Hardin's corrupted Archanean Empire. Only Dolhr and Khadein presumably remain independent, Pyrathi and Port Warren (was it actually independent of Archanea?) we know nothing of, but presumably they both get assimilated into Marth's kingdom. Narratively, I think one has to forgive FE12 for being based on an SNES game, not exactly an era in gaming for high storytelling well not until FE4. Not only that, but you have to consider FE3 had that slightly abridged remake of FE1 included, which certainly affected how the War of Heroes turned out. At the least, you can see this in the gameplay, where the early maps aren't quite what I'd call "normal" or "beginner friendly" compared to some other FEs, due to the assumption the player played Book 1 first and thus knows all the basics quite well. Gharnef's and Medeus's returns make a bit more sense if you see them not as making an independent sequel? Maybe? I'm not sure how strong my argument is that because the War of Heroes was on the same cartridge as the War of Shadows, it sharing villains makes more sense than if it were a sequel apart from that. They didn't have that much space to make a more independent storyline fit?
  13. 1. FE-wise, hmm.... I guess I'd go with... Can't really think of one I'm really all that fond of above the rest. Elincia I'm not counting, because it's as a queen where her real development lay. Maybe I'll throw it to pitiable Sheena, though she lacks for sufficient development. 2. I could likely think of better, but the thing that pops right into my mind to voice support for is Mercedes from Odin Sphere. Kinda typical character development I guess, but I liked it and her story, plus she was fun to play as with her flight and rapid fire magic crossbow. 3. N/A 4. N/A 5. Don't really have a good answer here, but I do recall the stuff on Princess Grace Kelly was good from this Million Dollar American Princesses (actually any American woman who held any royal/noble title) TV documentary series I watched.
  14. I haven't the foggiest whether disconnecting the Compilation from VIIR is on the whole a good or bad thing. But this is useful information. It leaves me wondering, how much of VII's plot is going to be redone? Nothing in VII Classic hints at AC, BC, CC or DoC (whatcha know- all FFVII Compilation titles are -C!) from what I'm aware, they're all unplanned prequels/sequels. My personal terminology when comes to games being redone is three terms: Port/Rerelease- Same game as original, minor tweaks and additions. Remake- Substantially more changes or enhancements than a Port, see Super Mario 64 DS, or SoV, or FFIV DS. Reimagining- Radical changes departing from the original game, see Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. Given the gameplay overhauls, in that regard FVIIR is already a reimagining. Seeing the plot and characters reimagined is absolutely possible and may have already been hinted at. Although disconnecting the Compilation from VIIR might sound like it could free Cloud of his moody self, Nomura may have dashed those hopes already by injecting Noud Cells into the womb of VIIR. In which case, the plot we'd be getting would likely be Nomura's Fantasy VII, we would have the fullest look into his mind yet. To be a little more positive, on the topic of usual seconds, I generally swapped in and out my non-Cloud characters and didn't stick to any two. But I think I favored Yuffie for some reason. I might have preferred those with higher Magic stats, since I didn't grind for better Limit Breaks and Magic is fairly good in VII, particularly if you knew where to get the great spells of Enemy Skills. But even bad casters can be adequately good spellslingers, Materia >>>>>>>> everything else after all (which is a flaw of VII).
  15. I actually finished this game earlier today actually. I delayed for a few weeks stopping around the Flame Barrel in doing so, due to some frustrations later on with same turn reinforcements. Also, I had played FEs 3-6-4 relatively recently beforehand, so to see Book 2 again wasn't as fresh as it could have been had I spaced things out more. Presentation is not as austere as FE11, but the additional CGs were a boon that showed more effort being put into this game for me. Compared to FE3 Book 2 however, Marth took a hit with and without considering Kris- no more alarmed/serious face why? Music was an overall downgrade too, which hurt the presentation. Artistically, things aren't bad, but I think the SNES stuff had a charm this cleaner game lacks. Kris is very bleh and I could do without the new Prologue narrative as a whole is. But Kris didn't burn down a village and eat its citizens for me- I haven't the unending bile for them to say it clearly. In gameplay: The roster bloat of 79 characters hurts, though NM's meagre attempt to give them characterization is more than Shadow Dragon ever tried, if still just a half-shredded fig leaf. Speaking of being shredded, most units start pretty bad for anything other than Normal. Enemy variety, whilst still having its leanings, is certainly much more varied than SD. NM actually went and added Swordmasters, Sages, Warriors and Berserkers to maps that never had any (which is all of them because they didn't exist in FE3), and they added more non-Dragons to Anri's Way. Swords are no longer gimped as the weakest part of the WT due to Axe presence through the entire game, yay! Keeping all the modernizations of FE11 and tossing in a few more like the Training Grounds was good. The game plays fairly fast still, which is great. Hard was not devoid of difficulty, if still easy with the ever-broken Farore and Nayru plus the new Kris. Maniac and Lunatic/+ I can only envision the 160 million evils of, though ir sounds like it could be fun. New Prologue maps were fairly fun and distinctively short, so were the new Gaidens- except for Caesar and Radd being suicidal. Overall I like it and can see why someone would. Would play again, but not now.
  16. SF has models? What kind? And oh yeah *Insert a cat at a piano playing Chopin's iconic funeral march, while another cat meows the "duh duh duhduh duh duhduhduhduh duh DUH!"*
  17. Learnset: The good? Megahorn. The bad: Megahorn comes late. Being Bug/Fighting gives weakness to the Psychics you would otherwise Megahorn. Rock Smash is its only "normal" damage Fighting move, Counter is eh, Gen II Reversal numbers: HP% Power HP ≥ 68.75% 20 35.42% ≤ HP < 68.75% 40 20.83% ≤ HP < 35.42% 80 10.42% ≤ HP < 20.83% 100 4.17% ≤ HP < 10.42% 150 HP < 4.17% 200 Doesn't seem worth it me, but I'm not really sure. Odd. Bulbapedia puts Sandshrew's Catch Rate at 255, the highest possible and thus easiest to catch (3 being the infamous value lots of Legendaries use).
  18. If I had randomly got her as is, I'd use her due to the unlikelihood of her real self coming in anytime soon. But on principle, I won't count her. Real Thracia 776 playable Mareeta is not possessed, she takes pride in being Eyvel's adopted daughter and living up to her and her father, and is happy about being sane. I must continue to hope! Itsuki-Tsubasa-Touma; Kiria-Eleonora-Mamori; Yashiro G-H-B, Uta-loid Tiki T-T! Carnage Unity, Fire Emblem Heroes! Radiant Unity, Fire Emblem Heroes! Heroes Unity! Hear-rows U-nit-tee! *Continues chanting the sacred illusory mantras* Though remembering NPCs and villains exist does help in some cases. Julius and Ishtar make things significantly better for Gen 2 Genealogy even if they number only two. And Lloyd, Linus and Ursula add weight to arguing an earlier period in FEH's history of FE7 favoritism. Archanea has Camus, DE Hardin, Clarisse, Legion, and Gharnef, almost all its major villains (the only missing one is)...
  19. It wasn't counting NPCs, nor characters playable only in DLC scenarios- like Fernand. Adding in NPCs and villains makes where you stop counting who can get in more nebulous. And then Rinea would have to support the further characters of Rudolf, Jedah, Slayde, Fernand, Desaix Brigand Boss. And before you say Mila Maxwell, she is cursed to be Mythic now that Duma is and thus can't carry anyone but those already in.
  20. If exclude the Subs, (and given Lene got Sylvia's weapon and Sylvia got Laylea's weapon, it is wholly believable), FE4 has 48 PCs- 24 per Generation (not counting Finn twice (even though Young Finn would be a reasonable canon alt to me)).: Of the 48 PCs, so far we have 18, including Finn, Leif, and Nanna. 18/48 = 37.5% of the Genealogy roster. In the Generational divide, we have 12 Gen 1s counting Finn as a Gen 1- exactly half, and 6 of Gen 2- a quarter of them. That isn't surprising to me, Gen 1's cast is on the whole more developed than Gen 2's. Want to hear a joke? What game excluding the new possessed girl has only 5/51 = 9.8% of its playables in this game? Thracia 776! And here is the real kicker- only two (Saias and Olwen) aren't in Genealogy! That honestly wouldn't be a bad idea- but only once they use up Tatiana and Silque. Once they do, Harrier Clair can take to the air in my books, -if she has room to fly the remaining men. The way I worded it reminds me of an old ~70s commercial where a young flight attendant named Jennifer promises to give you the viewer "The best flight you've ever had" with the commercial ending with the lines "Fly Jeniffer, fly National.".
  21. Haven't updated my representation topic since the Gallians, and I might be so lazy and the topic a little tedious to edit due to size so I'll hold off until the next New Heroes to load in the Seasonals + Fallen Heroes 2. But I do have SoV's representation numbers available: 34 playable characters, 38 with the Cipher quartet. So far, we have 20 non-alt SoV playables (no real reason not to count the Whitewings): 20/34 is 58.82%, 20/38 = 52.63%. This means as a percentage of its playable roster, Shadows of Valentia is second only to Fates: 45/70 = 64.29% (counts the Kanas and Corrins separately, not counting Bride Charlotte as Charlotte). Awakening has more playable characters than SoV, but just barely a smaller percentage of its total roster sans Cipher 29/51 = 56.86% (not counting Selena as Severa, Laslow/PA Inigo as Inigo, nor Swim Noire as Noire). Sacred Stones, the spiritual sequel to Gaiden, has a similar-sized roster of 33, but only 11 non-Creature Campaign (so Lyon and Valter don't count) playables in so far. Of the remaining SoV characters, only Silque and Tatiana are female- two women for twelve men, and outside of Gallia, this game has preferred Polygyny to Polyandry. So it's wholly possible the next SoV NH could be the last, so each of the remaining men has only a 25% chance (assuming two on the banner plus GHB character) of not sinking into the poisoned abyss called the Mire of Eternal Obscurity where Arcanist-spammed Gargoyles go to defecate on you. Even if we say they do two Gallias, that'll only get in 8 of the 12 remaining men. Which of the men in this scenario will later have their remains turned into petrol when industrialized 19XX Valm needs to use the ancient fossilized Gargoyle feces to fuel their Walhart W3 heavy tanks? Mycen and Nomah are likely, but the other two are in the air- Python and Forsyth maybe? Unless Clive is successful at adopting them and then using that to make family reunification claims. Or why not Kamui? Another Sword Infantry is not high on FEH's needs list, nor is he Silque's savior like Jesse. Deen of Nice Background in an Artbook could be another cut Sword Infantry guy.
  22. Narrative without going into spoilers, CC is a sequel to CT, but not a direct sequel in that none of the old characters are playable nor are the old locations visitable. You'll find plenty of references though. And narratively, I'd want to call it "Chrono Trigger Gaiden", but that might underplay their connectedness and imply undue inferiority in being "only a side-story". "Chrono Cross: Echoes Across Time" would be maybe a good name for it. For criticisms, no spoilers, I'm just putting it in spoilers if you don't want to see them, they're a little detailed if not naming specifics.
  23. Makes it more chill than FEH for sure, you can play at your own pace with your own goals without as much of a cloud hanging over you head. Rather than pit other players against you, which has its own merit I can see, DL opts to emphasize players working together. With some investment I'm now able to do Sabbock Raids on Expert and EX, though certainly not Nightmare, that makes things better. I'm at 400+ Gold Emblems right now, I'm aiming for 3000 by the end, plus maxed Bronze and Silver if possible. Feels more fun than before, but I do think they could make the Manticore drops a little better. You get so many Otherworld Fragments from each you rarely have to spend Stamina on this event- good if you want to use it for other things like Lightsunder Ruins right now, but unless Nightmare gives a hefty amount of Silver or Nightmare is that Gold-laden, I'm thinking the Manticore should give more of those. Or, make it so you can do Sabbock battles using just Otherworld Fragments, but at a much higher cost than if you also had Getherwings to spend. But to be fair, I'm sitting at 90 of them right now, so I've no idea of their regeneration rate. Sabbock also dropped a 5* Wyrmprint on EX for me- the one with Hildegarde and the Water Lance girl- cool! There was one issue with Raids I ran into- getting into a room. If I made one, it filled quickly and all was good. If I tried to find one however, I kid you not I tapped like 20 times with all rooms filled by the time I did. It didn't matter if they had 1 or 3 members, they were all full. Though the cost of hosting and joining are now the same, so neither group is lopsided; the game is just bustling. I noticed they added 2 4* units on the latest Showcase, did they abolish 3* additions due to their ability redundancy and instead opted to make it to 4*s per non-Seasonal Showcase? And I've plopped my Player ID in the DL topic in General Gaming (which might be where this talk should be held henceforth within given the FEH collab is done), I'll repost it here, just tell me who you are here on SF first.: Player ID: 4620 5849 646. My helper is set to a lv 40 Lowen with 30 nodes unlocked. Name is Vritra- at least until they add a Vritra as a Dragon, then it'll be changed.
  24. Somebody else has heard of this? All I ever played was the first title- Riviera: The Promised Land (GBA version), b/c it was on this new Nintendo releases advertising DVD I got once (which also introduced me to Castlevania via Dawn of Sorrow). Though I've read about the rest of the loosely connected (and never finished) series Department Heaven was supposed to be. Riviera wasn't a bad game (and for better or worse, it introduced me to fanservice), certainly a bit restricting and the QTEs I can see as objectionable for some, but I think it's a novel taste that could be loved. It wouldn't surprise me if you in particular enjoyed having limited points to spend on examining things, opening chests with randomized weapons that you can't control the targets they're used against, and you then deciding whether its worth keeping in one of your precious few inventory slots. Variability in a playthrough I hazard is something you enjoy? Knights in the Nightmare's shump aspect was a bit worrisome so I never got it, but I have something of a lingering interest in Yggdra Union. Huh? *looks up game's endings* Imageepoch did sorta slightly allow for gay dating in 7th Dragon III: Code VFD (not sure of 2020 yet, I'm in Chapter 7 and haven't been able to fully upgrade the Skylounge yet, despite getting several characters' emails). LA left a similar impression on me, the games were slow and cliche, and it seems that while the games got better, culminating in Stella Glow, the total improvement weren't ever sufficient. But for a time I did enjoy LA1 and 2, I was younger then. Looks like LA3 never got a fan translation, so there goes my chance of giving it a try. Shame Imageepoch never did rise from mediocrity though, I'm liking 7th Dragon 2020 plenty, but I see the same problem as with LA/SG, the sequels got better but not enough fast enough. Oddly, Etrian Odyssey has survived, despite also being gradualist in improvement. Also, Arc Rise Fantasia was a good knockoff Tales narratively speaking, gameplay-wise it was turn-based fun with a few kinks, but overall I appreciated it. Probably their best title produced. And how dry they've tended to be. I can understand SMTI being minimalistic due to the era, but Nocturne and the Raidou duo (having only played the first) definitely could have done better. IV tried to add life to its cast, it did for Tayama, but not quite so the supporting heroes; and then Apo flanderized things with ill-fitting and poorly done anime cliches. I think DDS had a good (if not complex) crew, hindered only by the games' lack of free time in the narrative to chill and flesh out the characters as they relax. Midori might have had an (appropriate) annoying voice, but overall I think the game achieved a balance of allowing "lighter anime" tones to make the characters more than alignment expies whilst not sacrificing/conflicting with the bleak spirit of SMT. It's the same world, just some generations into the future. I think you can find a trashed PET laying around in one of the game, a relic of the less advanced past. I hope Takahashi doesn't try that. Six parts might work for books, but video games? I'm reminded of Star Wars, George Lucas did start with Episode 4 and work forward to 6 before going back. Maybe Takahashi was actively emulating Lucas. But if he did, he forgot something- Lucas made only three timeless movies, the prequels so I hear aren't of the same quality. Trilogies sound much, much more feasible to me in any non-book medium. -Although you're a Trails player, and I'm not, so maybe I'm unaware of how that franchise has proven some possibility of making more than just a trilogy work.
  25. Overall not a bad piece of marketing artwork. I like how the Legion ally is centered right between the two sexes of PC, so it be associated with both of them. It looks menacing, perhaps evil even, if with a slightly beak-ish face. The whole piece is a little too bluey as well. But the only real issue is how heavily they used the electric polisher in the lower right.
