  2. The only stat Final Yato doesn't boost is magic. Just use Oniichan Hayato or something.

  4. Vantage would be really easy to check. My money's on "no" though.

  6. There are many ways to nerf Veteran, but Avatar isn't even mandatory for a very painless clear of, say, Hard Mode. Well, I keep repeating how much I love Fates all the time so I can see why somebody would likewise continuously express their dislike towards it. Extremities are a problem though, we can agree on that, on whatever end they may be.
  7. Awakening's map design actually isn't that bad when you don't have grown MU/Sumia/Panne/whoever to put into the range of the whole map at once and notice there actually is some logic to how the enemies are positioned on the map. The game would play so much differently if Veteran wasn't there or if Fates' experience mechanics had been used.
  8. Effie works better as a Dark Falcon, carrying over her lance rank.
  9. Dark Knight Odin will still want to use magic because resistance is the lower defensive stat. I'd argue his combat is comparable to Felicia's because he can take hits better, but Felicia is not about combat at all.
  10. Finally uploaded the chapter 10 clear. Turned out my file was corrupted, which explains why I couldn't convert or import it into Vegas. It makes the sound buzz in the later portion of the video, and like 4-5 seconds of footage are gone in the beginning, but it's much better than I'd feared I'd be able to get.
  11. tbqh XeKr It's only so many levels that you can enjoy flying while also having Bowbreaker and quite a bit of reclassing to get all the skills.
  12. http://serenesforest.net/fire-emblem-fates/hoshidan-characters/base-stats/ http://serenesforest.net/fire-emblem-fates/revelation/character-base-stats/ Azama's class is listed as 'Priest' not 'Monk'.
  13. Awakening could have been a better game indeed, but I don't spend much time criticising it (not sure if you've seen me around the forums enough but what you're accusing me of isn't part of my repertoire); it's not a personal matter. I'm really enjoying it on 0% growths where MU cannot faceroll the game by definition, and I'm sure I'll get even more out of it with a few more challenges. I still think it's a very goofy demonstration of fanboyism when people (often newcomers to the series) continue to produce entirely incoherent posts and huge threads why the game is flawless and everyone who finds any fault with it is a bitter, trendy and somehow simultaneously reactionary monster. I don't think any game in the series has such treatment nowadays and it all has an uncanny resemblance to nu-metal fans defending their favourite music 15 or so years ago.
  14. - Marf Santangelo, a Traveller of sorts. - Duadexa, a mighty mysterious warrior.
  15. Good point, now sword/axe/lance users technically have "bows" of their own too.
  16. Well, so far it seems like we're banning the braves as well. I have a feeling debuffs will be a big thing though. They change matchups radically.
  17. Not sure if this is another thinly veiled attempt to shut down the Awakening critics...
  18. I haven't considered reclassing Nyx because of the limited number of Heart Seals I can get but it certainly doesn't sound like a bad idea at all, considering I'm not allowed to use Niles in combat (even as a pair-up bot) and that makes getting him to chests a little hard. I could use Anna, but I can't legally get her until April I think? I could well be done or about done with the playthrough by then. I'm sure the extra +1 mov on Nyx would be useful, too. I can always pull it off later I suppose, but I need two seals - one to get to Outlaw and one to get back and Conquest doesn't give you nearly as much money as you'd like. Chapter 10 (and probably a couple more maps) would be up by now, but I seem to have recorded it with some hard-to-digest codec. I've just installed a recent version of Any Video Converter, so hopefully I can find a better solution to the problem than screen-recording my video playback in MPC player lol. Also, today I got Nyx as my cook and while I was initially disappointed that she tends to screw up the cooking, I played around with the game and realised you usually get a totally different outcome if you cook a 2nd time after the first one. The first one would give me stat decreases, much like with Niles and Odin, but the second one gave me a much more preferred boost of +2 str/+1 mag/+2 spd. Not sure how convenient it is to manipulate the Mess Hall cooking right now, but the benefits of it are hard to deny - these are boosts comparable to a good pair-up (like Dread Fighter or smth) here. But yeah, a general tip to unrig cooking would be to sacrifice a useless ingredient (+res or something) the first time around, then do it right the second time.
  19. Shura generally doesn't seem all that gamebreaking, especially if killer weapons are banned. I'm more worried that right now there is very little reason not to use Camilla and/or Elise, and they'll be even more desirable when we allow friend/marriage reclassing and DLC classes. Elise and Camilla's personal + Inspiration make a huge difference in damage given and received. It's probably safe to say right now that +/- dmg skills are to the Fates arena what the +/i hit and evo skills were to Awakening's. You want the right characters and skills to give your team an advantage in terms of raw stats.
  20. I remember the user Tooru pointing out that Flora's skill doesn't match its description. It apparently does only half the damage, and Flora needs to be damage prior to the turn when she can start returning the damage (basically like Rinkah's personal). Some testing could be useful here. I don't think Highwayman is all that broken and Shura is definitely not soloing anything with it. -3 str/spd debuffs (turning into -2 str/spd the following turn when the target will be able to take his next action) aren't so huge in comparison to some of the other easily accessible forms of debuffing. My apologies for being slow with hosting the first game, Horace and Nintales. Been busy with work and my sleep schedule has been awful lately. Should be able to return to the game really soon though, like tomorrow soon.
  21. Wasn't there at least one game in the series where you could pull this off, i.e. act out a character's turn and then escape? I could've sworn it was Thracia all along, but I guess not!
  22. Well, it did at least reliably grant me +1 or +2 (at lv. 3) in a stat when used just about all the time. Right now I've got Odin, who seems to mess up when cooking a lot, but repeated attempts can give successful results as well as absurdly bad results where all your stats get lowered by -1 (!) while you get +2 str/mag. Not sure what affects this, but I assume this is random. Selena might just promote to Falcon Knight right away immediately after taking the Heart Seal. Not enough bulk to survive the enemies otherwise, and she doubles the samurai without need for cooking this way. I think I want to give her the Dracoshield too? Her bulk is supposed to be good but she loses a lot of it when going Sky Knight. Once the growths kick in, it should be fine. Strength issues are there too. Basically, Selena is the Conquest LTC equivalent of a Shove Soren or Rath whom you promote to Brave Bow walls and for best movement in snowstorm. I did like my flying Heal staves in casual play, and I dug the flying in general since I didn't use Beruka at all, but you need to go out of your way to shave off like 2 turns with her in the whole run? I still need to discover if the Rescue user needs to be flying to do all of that, too.
  23. I do agree it's a big skill, but it's stuck on one single character in the parents meta so MU might as well be the Chrom of Fates. Also don't forget that Spear Fighters get Defence + Speed Seal, which is even more devastating since it lowers def/spd by further 2 points. Still a potentially broken skill with MU's customisation. Something like General MU with Wary Fighter could tear a whole team into pieces with proper support. How are we going to play without braves? Would you say a sufficient number of weapon classes are represented? Silvers and dual weapons seem incredibly common so far.
