  1. Sounds pretty epic but you're instructions are somewhat hard to grasp. Is it four separate drinks? Are those beer cans empty to start? Or do you basically mix everything listed and get a tankard of the stuff?
  2. Oh! Another headcanon of mine, I completely support the characterisation of Marth's father Cornelius in the OVA and I can't recall anything in the games that directly contradicts it. Making him an abusive man that Marth didn't particularly like makes his death much more complex than the typical "My father was a good man and you killed him. Revenge!" (not that the latter is particularly bad as Greil and Byron showed, just a lot more played out).
  3. It's a precarious balance between having too few and too many cameos. It's where the visual medium can shine a lot easier than the written one.
  4. Emmet was sitting in the crows nest examining the string on Pinaka when the first ballista bolt hit. He leapt to his feet and searched for the attack. His instincts made him look out to sea meaning despite the advantage of a better viewing point, he didn't actually notice the attacks were coming from shor until several more ballista had struck. With great care he climbed down from the crow's nest. By now everyone else had noticed the attack and were getting ready for battle. He made his way to the convoy seeing if there were any spare bows he could use. Pinaka was quite precious to him and he lacked the resources to repair it should something happen. Sure enough a spare Iron Bow was there. He also noticed a powerful Libro staff and decided to take it. Better it sees use than lying here. He rushed on to the beach, splitting up from Serge but staying with some of the other mercenaries. Lady Claire was also nearby too. That reassured him somewhat. He was reasonably certain that despite her bravado, she would be willing to use the elixer if his life was threatened. Emmet takes the Libro and Iron Bow from the convoy, deploys and moves to 25,15

  6. It isn't that Priam being Ike's descendant is impossible, it's that being his descendant is a completely meaningless claim. If Ike is Priam's ancestor then he is one of literally hundreds of other ancestors Priam has. The amount of Ike-ness (for lack of a better word) that makes up Priam's genetics is super minimal and unless Ike's lineage consisted exclusively of one child families for hundreds of years, then virtually everyone else in Valm, or wherever Ike settled, would be just as much Ike's descendant as Priam. So for me, Priam being someone who chooses to live by Ike's legacy and ideals makes more sense as a character than a very flimsy blood relation.
  7. Does he have Ragnell though? He has a gold sword called Ragnell but I recall Ike's Ragnell having infinite uses and shooting a shockwave instead of being a boomerang. And even if it is the bona fide Ragnell him having it isn't proof of anything since anyone can use it and anyone can have it. He could have raided Ike's tomb for all we know. My point is, if Ike happened to have decendants beyond two generations, then a thousand years or however long Awakening takes place afterwards for him to be considered a legend, pretty much everyone in the world would be a decendant of Ike. That's the way genetics works. Priam is bound to have cousins, uncles, great grand nephew's twice removed working in as apeasent in the field who's just as much Ike's decendant. He's also going to have genetics for literally hundreds of other people in the great, great, great, great ~whatever range he's removed from Ike. The only way Priam's claim makes any sense is if he's a direct decendant of some incarnation of Ike from the Outrealms, though that still wouldn't connect him to the specific Ike of Awakening's lore. A more satisfactory explanation for me is that he's someone who's chosen to take up the legacy of Ike, his fighting style and ideals so to speak. A spiritual decendant so to speak. Like the way a lot of conquers in our world styled themsleves as the second coming of Alexander the Great.
  8. Yeah I know about the notes. That what I based the idea around. He don't specify precisely why it's the case but having some of his children before bonding with the dragon and at least one after is a very satisfactory explanation.
  9. -Priam isn't Ike's decendant. Just some random warrior who styles himself after an ancient hero. Afterall, so much time has passed between the two games, Priam's claim is just as meaningless as me claiming to be a decendant of Cu Chulainn. -There is a second confilct with Doma explaining why he has remains in Awakening in a different place from where he was defeated and sealed in Gaiden. -Wyverns of Jugdral are manakete's from Archaneia. They were brought there by a sane manakete in an atthempt to stop the degregation. This sane manakete was the one who discovered Loptyr's influence on Jugdral and informed Naga of it (because why else did Naga wait so long before putting a stop to Galle?). -The reason for the Hezul blood not being passed down to the royal family in Genaology is because Hezul already had heirs before gaining the dragon blood and only the child he conceived afterwards could inherit it.
  10. I reckon there's in universe explanation for and against both characters (as well as some others like Geoffrey) which we've covered but I'm primarily talking about the narrative theming they had going on with three previous parts focusing on three separate characters, which eventually join three separate armies. Two of the previous focus characters lead two armies but the other doesn't, even though her presence in the army is narratively quite important since it connects to the reappearance of Bastian and her uncle Renning. I don't think Tibarn's leading is completely illogical of course, the fact that few people even think about is proof enough he makes enough sense in universe and narratively his presence gives weight to the feral laguz reappearance. I just find it somewhat strange they give the gameplay lord quirks and the army name to Tibran when the plot handles all the characters pretty evenly at that point.
  11. Emmet tried to resist scoffing. "Well I'm going to get off this ship to stretch my legs if nothing else. You just ensure our little miracle is kept safe." With that Emmet left Claire. He decided to climb the crow's nest to garner a better view of Magonseate's coast. There still wasn't much to see however. For the thousandth time in his life he cursed his below average eyesight. From there however he had a nice view of the entire ship. Nothing seemed to be happening aside from the Lady Adele attempting to wrestle the bear-man.
  12. Not if you consider the fact that Tibarn is more accustomed to leading aerial laguz while the army is made up primarily of beorc or beast laguz (assuming the playable character ratio we see is an approximate reflection of what it's like in universe). And by the same token Naesala is probably more qualified to lead than Michaiah is in her army. Though in that case its probably comes down to trust more than anything else (even though the only forced character in that army that knows Naesala as a traitors jerk is Skirmir).
  13. Ashnard being behind the Serenes Massacre was never historical fact in Tellius. It's something the main characters assumed during Path of Radiance when they read the Heron who's name I can't remember story about her being captured by a "big man".
  14. "I know this country is dangerous. That's precisely why I was trying to elicit your assitance rather than galavanting into the jungle by myself. I'm not suggesting we part ways from Prince Own's little militia. Merely do some searching while we're here." Unless of course we find something substational Emmet thought to himself.
  15. I think the intention of the Lupin Tonks romance was to drive home the idea that the plot is a lot bigger than Harry's limited perspective and that the adults are fully realised people who are doing just as much if not more to fight Voldemort. It's a theme most evident in the fifth book where Harry's insistence on involving himself gets Sirius killed but little things like Lupin and Tonks getting together in the last two books serve to reinforce the fact. I agree that killing both of them off screen so unceremoniously was pretty poor taste. Lupin at the very least deserved much more than that.
  16. "How else do you suppose one finds a myth?" Emmet asked. "Snooping around is the only way forward. What people appreciate be damned. You're right. It might take some time to even know where to begin but until we try we're getting nowhere. I've seen procrastination ruin many a men's lives. People old and grey with nothing to show for themselves. I don't want to be like that. I'd rather have spent a lifetime trying than doing nothing. Even if I fail in the end." Besides, nothing in particular is making me go back home. I could stay here if I choose. Emmet pushed himself off the rail and took a few steps away from the edge. "I'm going to explore the first chance we get with or without you. Though if I do find something, I trust you'll be here with the bottle?" Taking it half way across the world on a ship is pretty risky but a lot less risky than leaving it in Hull and hoping no one else finds it.
  17. 6.Favorite Bond movie? 7.Favorite Disney movie? 8.Favorite Shakespeare play? 9.Favorite Queen song?
  18. "Good to hear it" Emmet nodded. He put his arms on the railing and looked out to the sea. "I'm sure I don't need to tell you how precious a substance it is. Inspired by our previous conversation, I was starving my last badger to see what effects it might have on starvation but unfortunately this trip cut my plan short. Still, it might be something worth investigating if we can capture another animal. That's not what I wanted to talk to you about however. We're in Magonsaete now. The source of all rumours of the Fountain of Ages. We can't pass up this opportunity to do some exploring." He turned his eyes away from the sea and looked back at here. "What do you think?"
  19. [spoiler=Getting on the boat] "Where is he?" Serge was angry. Incredibly angry. Everything was happening so fast and he was not enjoying it. Niko was gone, Doug was off being some fancy noble, and now just as he was settling in to life in Wyke, they were leaving. Serge finally found the door to the room of the individual he was looking for. He knocked loudly. "Oi! Emmet! Open up!" Emment opened his door to see Serge standing outside. "Hey. Sergeant. Nice to see you. Come in. You want a drink?" "Oh, I'd like a drink alright." He said as he held his head for a bit. "Right, Niko and Doug are gone and we're going to Magonsaete in a few days. So gather the things you wanna bring along and start packing or something. I gotta go hire some new people." He didn't have time to explain. They were already low on men and he still had to find Larissa and tell her the 'news'. "Wait what?" Emmet was confused. "What do you mean Niko and Doug are gone?" I've never even met Doug! "I can't just up and leave to Magonsaete. I mean, I don't have any particular connection to Wyke but I was planning on heading further east to Toulouse next." Hold on Magonsaete...that's where the Fountain is rumoured to be...Lady Adele would only have cause to go there is the princess is heading there too. And if she's heading there it's likely wrapped up in this Dettard business which means the Lady Claire is involved too. Seems I can't miss this opportunity. "Maybe it's best I speak to Niko. When is he coming back?" "He isn't coming back!" He yelled, angry more at Niko than anything else. "He's retired! And he's sent no one else as a replacement! And Doug is off being a noble with his new pretty pink pegasus!" He gave off the heaviest sigh he's ever given. "So...say hello to your new leader...and get packing. And as long as you're in the Reliants and we're under contract for Lady Adele, you're not going to any Toulouse unless she herself is going there. The last thing I need is for the group to be spread across the world doing who knows what!" "What? Niko's gone for good..." He did seem a little out of it when I spoke to him at the vendors the other day. Guarded like there was something on his mind. "That just leave me, you and that other healer right?" Emmet let out half a laugh half a sigh. "We're all new to the Reliants. We haven't even fought in a battle together yet." This guild is effectively finished. We're basically Adele's hired muscle now. Still a better end then how the last one ended up. If Serge reckons he can take command I guess I'll hang around and see how he fairs. "Sergeant has become quite an apt title for you it seems." Emmet opened a bottle of wine and poured a glass for the two of them. He seems quite stressed out. Maybe this'll help him unwind a bit. He raised a toast. "To the New Reliants I suppose. Maybe we should do something about the title. Using the Reliants name will gather us some work but once it gets out that we're not really the same group we'll become a laughing stock. Still, that can be a conversation for a future date. We're doing pretty well as long as we stay in Adeltrudis' good graces. Do you have any idea why we're going to Magonsaete?" "The final destination is Raewald." He said, walking over and picking up the glass. "That's all I know." He said, gulping down the glass of wine. He had little time to be proper. He set the glass down, and went over to the door. "And for the record, we are not changing the name..." He said, slamming the door. The urge to go to some bar and drink away was incredible, but he needed to spend the money on hiring new recruits. "God dammit, Niko...I trusted you and this is how you repay me..." He muttered to himself. "Raewald..." Emmet stopped for a second. A blank look crossing his face.He let out the lightest of laughs. "Am I giong to go home?" he said to himself more than Serge. But the boy wasn't listening. He stormed out of the room obviously quite distressed. "You've dumped that boy in a lot of shit Niko" Emmet muttered at the door. "And me too. But I suppose you have your reasons." Emmet finished off the last of his wine. "Well Claire, sorry to have put you through so much trouble." Emmet approached the cage he had kept in the corner. Inside lay the badger he had been starving the past few days. Initally it had been a docile creature but lack of food made it soon grow violent. Now however it lay weak and still as if it had already given up on life. He had planned on seeing what effects the elixer would have on starvation but now it didn't seem practical. Claire was probably busy prepairing for the same trip and he had no intention of bringing a badger to Magonsaete. Besides, the elixer was more valuable than ever now that they were visiting the land of it's origin. He reached inside the cage and took the animal out. It growled but made no atthempt to bite him. "It's okay" he whispered even though he knew the badger wouldn't understand. "Don't worry." With one quick motion he broke the animal's neck. I wonder if anyone down stairs has any sage he wondered. Emmet found himself enjoying the see voyage. He had travelled far to reach Wyke but it had mostly been by land. Aside from the ferry oveer to the island itself he had never been on an extended sailing trip. Getting use to the new motion of the wave was difficult at first but he soon compensated enough not to feel too queasy. Though he still hoped they wouldn't have to do any fighting while at sea. The rocking would do very little to help his already questionable aim. The ship wasn't an particularly big place but he still never had a chance to converse with the Lady Claire as they sailed. Maybe it was coincidence, maybe she was avoiding him. He couldn't say for sure. It was evident she didn't like him very much but Emmet couldn't care less about that. The only thing he cared for was the vial. Eventually he spotted her talking with the princess and decided to broach her. He waited for Lady Cassandra to leave before approaching. "Miss Bennet. How lovely to see you. I trust the voyage has been agreeing with you. Seasickness is quite common but I hope you'll resist the urge to turn to magic potions to cure it should you suffer any ailments."
  20. Well it's called the Hawk Army because Tibarn leads it not due to the nature of the army. There's only three Hawks (and two of them aren't mandatory) -_- It just as easily could have been called the Crimean Forces (which would have made more sense considereing Bastian and Renning eventually join the forced Elinica and Lucia.
  21. One thing that video failed to realise is that Elsa actually spent a lot of time educating herself when playing the hermit. She somehow manages to know what fractals are even though it's something that's only been properly researched (and named) using computer science.
  22. Captain America probably wasn't intended to be gay in the first film (though IMO, I don't recall feeling much chemistry between him and whatsherface) but I could easily believe this is something they've been trending towards for a few years now. I recently seen the Winter Soldier (wasn't altogether impressed overall) and one scene that sticks out in my mind is when his partner asks if their fake kiss was the first kiss he's had in seventy years. He responds not by acting embarrassed, getting angry or flirting back as one would expect from a straight character. Instead his reacting is a much more subdued "Does this really matter to you? I really don't want to talk about this."
  23. Bring on the Aces I say. Aint nearly enough proper representatives in fiction in my humble bias opinion.
