Fire Emblem Gaiden Name Update Patch (v0.9)
Jotari replied to Gaiden Guy's topic in NES and SNES Era
This will almost definitely encourage me to finally play Gaiden. -
Do you kill the Senators in Part III; Chapter 3?
Jotari replied to SSbardock84's topic in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
I actively use Heather so usually steal for maximum gains. Though if they're escaping and Heather is nowhere nearby for whatever reason I don't hesitate to give them an axe in the face for their loot. -
Just read to the thread and I'm going to have to agree. Remarkably civil for the topic and number of people involved. Nice going guys.

To give my opinion, I'm going to say Path of Radiance which is trailing behind in forth on the poll currently. This was the seventh or eight Fire Emblem game I played so by the time I got to it I was a bit underwhelmed. Overall it's pretty easy compared to the rest of the series save Sacred Stones (in the west that is, I'm aware Lunatic exists in Japan) and the gameplay comes with some pretty annoying features. Predominantly skills vanishing when you remove them from a unit and only 1 S Ranked magic tome. The story also seemed super generic by this point. I can appreciate that it had some good writing, particularly in the world building department (unfortunately for the game I'd already played through Radiant Dawn several times so it wasn't something I could appreciate fully) but over all it threw nothing at me that was surprising and I doubt my opinion would have been much different if I hadn't played Radiant Dawn first. It's by no means a bad game, it did add or bring back some good features and I can see why people like it, but for me personally it just ranks among the lower of Fire Emblem games I feel inclined to play. Quoting something from the first page here but I'd just like to point out that this is someone who was hating on a game series before they even played a single game in it. So my opinion of their opinion couldn't really be much lower.

That's possible but pretty foolish of Manfroy. Putting all your eggs in one basket is not a good idea. The Lopt Sect got really lucky that there was still lopt blood out there after the last Gale was killed. And considering apparently there were public burnings at one point, people with minor lopt were probably kept around in the Lopt Sect of the old days.
-
Given Manfroy's seeming desire to kill Cyas for having Major Fala blood, I get the impression he doesn't have Minor Lopt. If he did then Manfroy would probably want to protect him and encourage his breeding. Then again I can't imagine any logical reason why he wouldn't have lopt blood.

_ _ _ _ _ I I I I I I I------------------ E, A Uh, didn't really know there were categories to choose from. I just picked a word. It's an adjective if that helps.

I read a good theory somewhere that Victor's erratic behavior and gaunt appearance was because he was suffering from lead poisoning, which is something I personally like to believe for the sake of more complex character alignments.

The name is familiar to me but I didn't know anything about it as a series...It sounds amazing. -
What returning features would you like to see in the next fe?
Jotari replied to Super Potat's topic in Fire Emblem Debates
An idea for a character I had awhile back was an enemy manakete who joins your army late game if you have a low enough turn count or playtime throughout the game, the idea being he swaps to the winning side being impressed with your ability as a commander. He then continues acting like a complete monster and even confirms he's eaten humans for fun. But you keep him around for because you need all the help you can get. His ending then has him being executed for war crimes. -

Haha. Just imaging Ike finding the Black Knight asleep on the battlefield and attacking him in a blood fueled rage only for it to have absolutely no effect. -

1.Greatest achievement in life thus far? 2.Something you think is really good but I likely have never heard of? 3.Do you like the sound of your own voice? 4.Furthest you've ever been from home? 5.A Mega Pokemon you'd like to see? -
Really, parents in general get the short end of the stick when it comes to our playable characters. The mother is lucky if she's mentioned at all but the father usually isn't much better, dying before they've had more than a handful of dialogue (if not before the story like in Marth/Lyn/Leif/Chrom's case). The only one they really tried to develop before offing him was Greil. Even Eliwood, the one father character who actually manages to survive till the end of the game and became a lord in the next barely get's any screen time in FE6.
