  1. But that's not the topic at hand now, is it?
  2. The thing is, this isn't about Pelleas, this is about Ilyana and her being held back by her school of magic. If she had access to Dark Magic instead of Thunder then she would start out with a spell that is as strong as Arkthunder right of the bat. It would be a winning trade.
  3. Dark Magic has low hit but the highest attack power of any type of magic. Thunder has the same low accuracy but also the lowest attack power of any type of magic. So yeah, Dark Magic is still terrible but at least it's good at something.
  4. Well, she starts of with good enough bases. But her growth distribution is poor, Thunder is the worst type of magic in the game and mages are already very underpowered. It doesn't exactly help that the Dawn Brigade is desperate for experience, so investing in a character who won't stick around after Part 1 isn't all that tempting. And when she shows up again in Part 3, she is outclassed right off the bat by Soren. And it's not like Soren is all that good in the first place.
  5. Gen 1: Charmander Gen 2: Cyndaquil Gen 3: Oh yeah, I actually did play that one. But honestly, I can't even recall any of the starters, let alone which one I picked. That game just didn't do it for me. Gen 7: Litten - I really didn't want to go with the fire starter again but I just couldn't say no to that little kitty. Plus, the settings seemed to be all waves and palmtrees, so I figured that fire types would be relatively hard to come by. If only I had known just how weak it's final form would turn out to be. Nevermind how just about every Pokemon in Aloha is a Dark type. I struggled enough against Fighting types already, so I really didn't need another one. I wonder how it would have performed if I had kept it in it's second stage and gave it the Evolite instead.
  6. I don't know. 7 million sales sounds pretty good to me. It's sure as hell far more then they deserve.
  7. Well, let's not forget that unlike Brom she actually changed a lot between the two games. In the first game she was so insecure that she tried to speak as little as possible but by the time of Radiant Dawn she managed to completely overcome her insecurities and is able to speak openly towards nobles such as Lucia and Elincia as well as ...difficult people like Heather. This shift in attitude extends to the battlefield too. She stood firmly against an entire group of Ludweck's rebels as well as fellow villagers willing to join them, with only Brom to back her up. Nevermind that it's already pretty awesome that instead of waiting for one of the sides to drag her into the conflict she decided to take matters into her own hands.
  8. Well, my brother tends to haunt my dreams since I spent years being terrified for my life from him. Fortunately the frequency of those nightmares seems to have decreased in recent months. And my dreams almost always take place in our old home, even though I haven't actually lived in there for almost 10 years by now.
  9. As if that trait only exists in that boss conversation. Come on, Valter really is not all that subtle. “Ha ha… Eirika, eh? She’s a ripe little peach. And her brother, Ephraim… He’s better prey than I’d imagined. I can feel my blood rushing at the thought. This might be fun after all.” “What are these cowardly mutterings? It is because you three generals are weak that we others must work so hard. And yet you get the honor of killing the girl. How I long to do your duty for you!” “…I’ve found you, Eirika. Seems you’re as skilled as reports say. This is going to be fun. Yes, yes, yes. I do so love strong women.” "I believe it’s time for me to return to my darling Eirika. It wouldn’t do for Glen to arrive before me, would it? " "I’ve sent a gift your way, Eirika, but I trust you can handle it. You’re my girl after all. I need you to be strong for me… Heh heh… ha ha ha ha ha!” “All you need to do is vanish, you disgusting old man. Eirika is mine. I won’t let you have her. She is so strong, so beautiful… She’s the prey I’ve dreamed of.”
  10. I just don't know what even. So I managed to get the game to start and I selected "Game Start" on what I believed to be the main menu. But instead of ending up in a submenu where I can find a training mode, the game throws like a dozen windows for me to click through, not counting an EULA that takes a whole minute just to scroll through, just for me to find myself in some sort of "lobby" where the game throws tutorials about freaking lootboxes (fucking seriously?) or whatever on me with no sight of any actual game, let alone a fighting game. I'm kinda at a loss here. Just what the hell is this thing? It looks like a crappy mobile game. Seems like this mobile version of Conton City is the closest thing this game has to an actual main menu. So every time I start the game or switch a mode I have to wait for the game to load "regional information" or whatever, just for the game to swarm this main menu with a hundred chibis that make it impossible to see anything. Steam says I supposedly "played" for 18 minutes but I'm pretty sure the only playtime I got was less then a minute in training mode (with most of that minute being spend on a futile attempt of disabling this weird auto-combo thing) Good lord, I'm so close to a bloody refund.
  11. Well, this is of to a good start. So I just installed the PC version and... it won't let me start the game because a program named "EasyAntiCheat" is not installed. So I go into the Fighterz folder and try to install this program manually. But the "EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe" only gives me the error "CopyFile failed with 5". And yeah, I did run it as administrator and disabled Kaspersky. I've also had Steam check the installation and it says everything is fine. So now I'm kinda out of options. ...you know, spending 60 bucks on a game just to end up having to tangle with copy protection software really makes you loooooove those publishers.
  12. As far as weird "what if"s go, it doesn't get much weirder then Krillin in Supersonic Warriors defeating Super Saiyan Vegeta, learning the Kaioken and the Spirit Bomb, and then killing Cell and Majin Buu. As well as an alternate timeline version of the cyborg twins who stole Trunk's timemachine. It's strange how back then Arc System was really going crazy with these character stories but in the more recent Extreme Butoden the character stories never actually deviate from the original plot. And those ones are literally called "What If"s. Xenoverse is kind of a strange case. Those visions show interesting scenarios like Ginyu stealing Vegeta's body... but then these events don't actually happen and things play out like normal. But there are at least some exceptions like the Mr. Satan example above or the Nappa Force in the DLC.
  13. Now this looks really sweet. It's great to see that this project continues to move forward. And just having a translated interface is already a huge help, given how different this game's mechanic's are to it's predecessor.
  14. The boat maps were really fun. I'm really glad they exist. Thabes... not so much. The dungeon almost completely linear with almost no room to explore and corridors that are recycled over and over and over again. And the non-random battles aren't all that interesting either. And since there are no checkpoints, it involves a lot of backtracking. Having to run through 10 floors just to get a single shot at the boss is just a massive pain in the rear. And you are hardly gonna feel like trying out interesting strategies when you know you have to do this all over again if things don't work out. In terms of story... well just to get this out of the way, the idea that the Emperor of Riegel would play bodyguard for some trader is completely ridiculous. But whatever, that's not important. The thing is that the game promises a journey to Akaneia, yet we end up in a completely new location that was never mentioned before nor has it any connection to anything else in Akaneia besides of an offhand mention of Divine Dragon blood. They didn't even do some fun little stuff like having the Akaneian blacksmith show up or something. It's a huge letdown. The weird thing is that this part doesn't even add anything to Awakening either. All we learn is that Grima was artificially created by some random mad scientist. But that alone doesn't add anything to Grima as a character. He may as well have been wished into existence by a genie or something, it's just a random piece of trivia. And it's not even interesting trivia because it has only the faintest of connections to existing lore.
  15. And one of the worst mission systems ever. "You found the level entrance? Congrats! Now go back to the next save point to activate the right mission and then come back here." I would really like to know what this system was supposed to add to the game. Personally I find it rather hard to justify playing ZX. Sure, the level design is as good as ever... but Megaman games are rather short and can easily be beaten in an hour or two. So in a game like ZX that is just like a good Megaman game but with a lot of bullshit inbetween, you end up with a game that has a terrible fun to bullshit ratio. And why bother with that when there are so many Megaman games where you can go directly from one fun level to the next? The good news is that the sequel ZX Advent fixed pretty much all of this. There is no such nonsense as "activating missions" and all level entrances are open at all times. It also has a proper map.
  16. Well, that's a surprise. I'm definitively looking forward towards playing the post X3 games. ...but it's strange for them to just announce this like this. You would think they would announce something like a X Legacy Collection or something like that.
  17. Nah, a critical hit is not needed. From what I recall two good hits should be enough to take him down. Even if it ends up being a few more then that, by trading around the Mage Ring to ensure that everyone can attack him without having to eat a counter, you can get more then enough hits past his defenses before the map ends.
  18. I know that the game still works without a internet connection but getting that set up is a massive pain. If the console can connect to the internet, the game will connect to the internet, without asking and without the option of disconnecting afterwards. And the internet connection of the Wii U can't get disabled either. You have to either screw up the connection settings or delete the connection settings altogether. Unless of course the made a patch that adds a proper offline mode at some point. But if they did that, this was after I stopped playing the game.
  19. Maybe. I do have the Wii U version but I never actually played the game properly. There were some that bothered me about the game quite a lot, like being forced to play online unless you deliberately sabotage the internet connection of your Wii U. Which was a massive pain because my connection isn't good enough for online play in an action game like this and I would rather not ruin things for people with a better connection. It probably didn't help that back then the game was kinda soured for my by those whiny jackasses who complained about the resident pedophile bait getting some of her lingerie outfits removed by the localisation (as well as the fact that those outfits existed in the first place). So maybe this game might be worth getting back to again, especially if some of the rough edges could get ironed in the port.
  20. Nothing, at least from what I recall. I believe that at the time I was still dazed by Philia's sudden death because of how it basically played out like a comedy sketch. I mean she just pops randomly just to immediately get killed by teleporting undead archers, followed by everyone moving on like nothing happened. This weirdness left me dumbfounded for a good while. Things went downhill from there as the game kept trying to push Emmeryn's suicide and her character to be something that they just weren't.
  21. Yeah, I really jumped the gun here. Anyway, good job Deltre with beating this game on Maniac, on your first run no less. I would also like to ask if your Discord still exists? I tried to use the links on your old videos but they don't work. Anyway, now I can finally bitch about what the localisation did to that final cutscene. Maybe you might wonder why that final exchange between Ike and Yune has him going on about humans need the gods to have something to aspire, when the entirely of Part 4 was about how the gods are just as flawed as their creations. So I'm glad to say that this this inspiration stuff is something that is entirely made up by the localisation. A more accurate translation would be this: I would like to note that this translation is from the page containing the translations of the extended script but it's not actually part of the extended script (being cutscene dialog and all). It's just that whoever translated these would sometimes also throw in stuff unrelated to the extended script when there are differences like this one. Honestly, I would really like to know what happened here. The best guess I can come up with is that the localisation didn't want Ike to refer to a little kid as "mother". ...which would be amazingly ironic considering the shameless lolicon pandering in recent games. But whatever their reason may be, I'm amazed by how the end result is so at odds with the theme of Part 4. Anyway, if this was your first run Sephiran would have died for real just like it was the case with Pelleas. Getting Ike's memory scene and keeping Sephiran alive is what all this cryptic stuff like having Ike attack the Black Knight in 3-7 was for. Consequently you also wouldn't have gotten to see the scene about the return of Ashunera. The vocal theme during the credits also only plays if Sephiran survives. Ashera actually has a few boss conversations... but there is something weird going on with them. They don't actually trigger if you attack her. They only trigger if Ashera attacks someone with a single target attack. She has conversations with Ike, Kurthnaga, Micaiah and Lehran. The last two are completely impossible to trigger because Ashera cannot actually target them. She cannot directly attack Micaiah, Lehran or the Herons. It's a shame too because Lehran's is pretty nice. I suppose now I could also link directly to the page containing the available translations of the extended script... https://serenesforest.net/radiant-dawn/scripts/game-script/ as well as the page with the Boss conversations... https://serenesforest.net/radiant-dawn/scripts/game-script/miscellaneous/boss-conversations/ ...and while I'm on it I'll also link to the page about units who won't attack each other. That should be pretty interesting trivia if nothing else. https://serenesforest.net/radiant-dawn/characters/non-attacking-units/
  22. Did you skip the Info Conversation with Nasir and Gareth in E-4? That one is kinda important.
  23. The boss conversation between Micaiah and Pelleas against Lekain are actually different in our version. What they don't mention in our version is that Lekain can no longer invoke the Blood Pact since he technically "died" when Ashera woke up and turned him to stone along with everyone else. This is also why in an earlier Info Conversation it was said that the mark on Pelleas' arm is fading. You also didn't bring Sigrun or Tanith, so I think this one is definitely worth posting (well, technically all of them are worth posting but this one clarifies some things): I also like this one: Edit: Also, remember how Astrid was meant to enter an arranged marriage? Maybe you ended up seeing this conversation after all but guess who her spouse was supposed to be? As awful as Makalov is, I suppose he is quite an improvement over Lekain. Edit2: And you managed to trigger Ike's memory scene. I never managed to get it myself but I suppose that means you should get the extended ending. For the record Ike's memory scene can only be triggered on a second playthough. That must be the reason that this scene does not hide the identity of Sephiran, unlike the memory scene that triggers right afterwards which shows up on every run. Levail's remaining boss conversations are with Haar, Sigrun, Tanith and Oliver. By contrast Sanaki, Micaiah and the Herons can talk to him but I think these conversations also get triggered if you simply have them attack him.
  24. I got Ultra Sun. For once I actually bought a game digitally because I figured this would be a good game to play at the side every now and then. I'm close to 10 hours so far with 40 Pokemon on the Pokedex... but honestly, between all those cutscenes and unwanted comments of the Rotom Dex, I feel like I barely got to actually play the game. It essentially feels as if I was somehow still stuck in the first 20 minutes of the game before I am allowed to buy any Pokeballs. So it's been a very frustrating experience so far.
