  1. Good lord, what about this trailer triggered you to whine about those evil sjws hiding under your bed? Must have been a real Desperate Struggle to come up with an excuse. To the matter at hand: Halle-fuckin-luyah! Hard to believe that it's already 7 years since the last game. And this looks pretty promising. I don't know how this cooperation is supposed to look like but pairing up Travis with various indie games sounds like a fantastic idea to me. Will Travis finally come face to face with the Baz? Probably not but one can dream. And hopefully this is going to involve Freedom Planet. Still, the music in this trailer is awfully loud. I can barely make out the dialog. Does anybody happen to have a transcript of the trailer?
  2. On Hard Mode there are some generic enemies with skills on the final map. So it might be a good to watch out for that. Despite Ashnard being invincible to most of your characters, he actually has boss conversations with quite a few of them. The most interesting of them is probably the one that he has with Reyson of all people, which has Ashnard explain why he thinks that awakening an evil god is a good idea. Just wanted to point that out since no one would think to send Reyson against Ashnard. Otherwise I suppose the only conversation that contains some new story details is the one he has with Nasir. And in case you don't know, if Ike doesn't manage to defeat the Black Knight in time, Nasir shows up and attacks the Black Knight. This causes the collapse of the castle, seemingly killing them both. So that's why you only get Nasir if you manage to beat the Black Knight.
  3. How is Caulifla the "Broly chick"? Especially next to Kale who actually transforms into Broly.
  4. It's fantastic to see that Koei now seems to think that performance is actually important. I mean, I get that having a smooth framerate with that many enemies is hard to accomplish so I can accept that they would settle for 30 FPS on most platforms. But Hyrule Warriors Wii U did never even reach that benchmark unless no enemies were around. And I really don't think that that kind of performance is acceptable for an action game. Although maybe it was Nintendo that insisted that Hyrule Warriors had to heavily favor graphics over gameplay in order to push the Wii U. Either way, I don't think 60 fps is the standard for Warriors games. So my hope is that them making a serious effort to get there is an indicator of how they will handle future Warriors games.
  5. Yeah, that conversation was irritating. Alm's reasoning was obviously naive and shortsighted. Meanwhile Clive's objection seemed to be that they were dealing with the situation at all, which of course isn't an option either. Tartara had to be defeated in order to prevent the country from getting flooded and to secure the path to Rigel. And the best way of dealing with Tartara may not necessarily involve killing Delthea. Considering that Delthea is a powerful mage, if possible it would most certainly preferable to avoid fighting her. So the question is how far Alm would go in order to save her. Would he be willing to endanger the troops to save just one person?
  6. 10 Dragon Knights at once. Yikes. That's a nice cliffhanger. Btw, don't blame Elincia for joining so late. She was going to enter the battlefield all the way back in chapter 6 but Ike shot her down back then: I've got to say, that's a very different tone compared to this chapter where he rejects the very idea that he could object to her wishes at all: Ike: This is not something that I can allow or disallow. She is my employer. If this is what the princess wants, all I can do is comply. Of course back then he wasn't the commander. I suppose it makes sense that this new responsibility would change his perspective on things.
  7. At 1:38 they are showing 18 with her Dragon Ball Super outfit. Makes me wonder if alternate costumes might actually be a thing. Seems weird to me that they would go out of their way to portray her accurately in cutscenes, just to have her magically switch to her old Cell Saga jacket during battles.
  8. I don't think you ever had a Brave Bow. In the international version the Brave Bow is dropped by Shinon. But in the Japanese version (or maybe only in Maniac) Shinon's Brave Bow doesn't actually drop. And he doesn't have it equipped when he joins either. So I don't think there is a way to get the Brave Bow in this version at all. And just in case you are not aware of this, the critical bonus of Snipers, Swordmasters and Berserkers has nothing to do with Maniac mode. It's simply something that was only added in the international version. Let's hope this map is as bad as it gets. I see no reason why the remaining maps should be any worse but since this is as far as my run got I can't exactly guarantee it.
  9. Now that's a surprise. I never even considered the possibility of an official translation. But I suppose I don't want to get overly exited just yet when the announcement itself says that the translation might not actually come to pass in the end. Still, it's great to know that there is currently a serious effort going on to get this game translated. Now I would really like to know how that version is supposed to get distributed if it is intended to get sold.
  10. The weird thing about this classes is that they are not even any good as pay-to-win due to their step requirement of having to be level 20 at your final class in order to be able to use them. Once a unit gets that many levels, there is simply nothing in the game that is able to offer any resistance. It's a shame since some of these classes do have some interesting abilities. For example Harriers can use the Magic Ring to attack from four tiles or use the Saunion while still being able to counter in melee. But again, by the time you can use them there is simply no need for such tricks. Edit: Btw, I don't know what this talk is about spellcasters loosing their spells. I haven't seen this with any character I promoted. Maybe this is something that they actually fixed that with that one update they did.
  11. You forgot Kid Goku and GT Goku. And maybe Great Ape Kid Goku if that counts.
  12. I wonder if this is a sign that 17 is not actually playable. Given all the focus 17 has gotten in the past weeks in Super, this would have been a good time to announce him. And they obviously have a model that they can show. Either way, nice to see 16 here. I expected that we would pretty much end up with the rooster of Supersonic Warriors since that was also also made by Arc System. (Well, those and any characters that Toei or Bandai might want to push.) So this actually got me exited to see who else will make the cut.
  13. The green guys don't actually die all that quickly. Most enemies will wait a few turns before charging towards the castle. Heck, on my run I didn't even engage the troops in the east at all and took the bridge to the north and I still ended up arriving before the boss reached the castle. And I got even pinned down at the starting location for several turns. Although the outcome was definitely too close for comfort, not gonna lie. And I did a ton of resets on the BEXP screen, so my units were pretty damn strong. I haven't actually played past this map so far. I wasn't particularly eager to tackle the boulder map, because of how obnoxious those rocks are. You would think rocks would all follow the same rules but instead they roll in whatever way they feel like. And since then, Botw came out, Echoes came out, etc... it kinda feel on the wayside. Btw, in Radiant Dawn Corrosion is actually fairly powerful as far as randomly activated skills go. If it triggers, it reduces the uses of an enemy's weapon based on the users level. Seeing how there are 3 class tiers in that game, this will destroy an enemies' weapon in most situations. Parity was also changed into a command skill. It still has very limited use but at least it never actively handicaps the user. Edit: By fighting the Black Knight during the map you actually skipped a scene that has Ike leave the castle to confront the Black Knight. That scene leads to the same conversation that you saw here, so the only new part is this brief exchange at the beginning: Ike: Why appear now? Do you mean to tell me you purposely waited until the battle was over? Black Knight: Hmph. I know how your mind works. I assumed you would attack the moment you saw me. But perhaps you've learned to judge the importance of time and place. Ike: To a mercenary, nothing's more important than the contract between him and his employer. Black Knight: Shall we call off our contest then? When you die here, you'll be in breach of contract after all. Ike: That's not a problem. All I have to do is win... Ready yourself! Black Knight: Hmph.
  14. I hate to admit it but I don't actually know how to purchase this game. There doesn't seem to be a physical release and without that I don't actually know how to buy Blizzard games these days.
  15. Well, after playing the game for 242 hours my opinion is still pretty much the same as it was in the first few couple of hours: The game is far better then I ever dared to hope for. Sure it's not great but at least it doesn't actively kill my soul. It's even downright enjoyable. I suppose the two things that have changed a little to me is that I feel confident in saying that Celica's side of the story is just plain bad. With that said, it is still far superior to the story of the last two games. Sure, it's "bad" but it's not "Congratulations player, you burned thousands of people alive! You're the greatest tactician ever!" bad. I really don't want to downplay the difference here. And I suppose the Panty Emblem elements are a little more persistent then it looked to me at first glance. But again, far superior compared to the previous two games. As far as I can tell only the Cavalier line has their undergarments rendered. But they look more like bloomers instead of thongs and are never actually highlighted. I'm not going to defend that cleric booty shake though. That was quite on the nose.
  16. So now that I beat the four divine beasts and Ganon I feel confident in saying that this mode is kinda lacking considering that it's DLC. The game doesn't really do anything other then upgrading the grunts to the next level. And even then they are not as dangerous as one would think since their weapons aren't upgraded along with them. So all this means is that enemies take longer to kill and that weapon durability becomes more of an issue. Which are two things that were already annoying in the base game. Still, it was a lot of fun to be able to play this game again from the very beginning. But now I can finally start my "skip-the-Sheikah-Slate-run". It's gonna be interesting to play this game without the map. After all, there is no reason to ever get truly familiar with the environment if you can just teleport all over the place.
  17. In addition to what has been said there is also the fact that Laguz lose their powers if they have a child with a Beorc. And those children are not shapeshifters.
  18. Ha, it's basically like back in Chapter 24x of Binding Blade randomized. On my Maniac Mode run I did this chapter the hard way. Didn't end up too well though. The enemy thieves beat me to some of the treasure and I accidentally killed 1 or 2 of the priests. But that way I actually got a little use out of the Statue Fragment. I gave it too Mia so she could do some pushing. Of course that's just one more reason why using Mia just isn't worth using. Btw, if you hadn't recruited Reyson there would have been an additional scene where the group finds him outside the temple, the justification for his presence being that he picked up a strong thought. A pretty weak explanation, especially considering that he shows up without an escort. Makes me wonder why rejecting him is even an option, if all it does is to force the writers to come up with dumb explanations to have him join the group anyway. The bridge chapter is indeed in Radiant Dawn too but it's a lot more bearable in that game. The locations of the pitfalls in PoR are pretty random compared to Radiant Dawn where they are mostly in places where it makes sense to put a trap. Gotta say though, digging holes into stone bridges seems like a pretty ridiculous concept to me. A little tip for the map: Since fliers don't trigger the traps you can temporarily disable the pitfalls by parking a flier on that tile. As long as a flier occupies that space, everyone can safely move over it. Anyway, at least the map is beautiful to look at. The bridge is high up in the air and the 3D graphics really gives it a nice sense of scale.
  19. Speaking of clothes, that has been changed somewhat as well. Clothes still have stats but they are now overwritten by a new type of item called QQ Bang. If you have a QQ Bang equipped, the game will completely ignore the stats from the clothes you are wearing. So you can now wear whatever you like without it affecting your performance. QQ Bangs are created by "merging" clothes. Their stats depend on the stats of the clothes you used to create them. But unfortunately there is still a lot of randomness involved in their creation.
  20. The combat flows far better now. I just recently run the first game again so I feel confident in saying that the first game feels really stiff by comparison. The AI can actually fight back now. In exchange the AI actually plays by the rules now and no longer has infinite Ki and Stamina. Super armor has also been completely ditched, so the combat is now actually fair. Also Super Saiyan no longer gives you infinite Ki, so Ultimate spamming is no longer an issue either. Nevermind that using an ultimate now leaves you wide open, so an enemy can easily use that opportunity to break your stamina with an Aura Dash. So if you use an ultimate, you have to make sure that it connects or the AI will make you regret it. The AI has also been changed so that it no longer gangs up on you. This can be blessing or a curse depending on the situation. Especially since it also applies to your allies, so they might end up doing nothing but watching as you are getting pummeled. Fortunately that's not much of a problem once you realize that your allies will immediately interfere once you disable your lock on. But most important of all, drops during PQs are now far more lenient. But I am still not a fan of that kind of boring repetition. Oh, and they finally added a proper training mode. That was really overdone. With that said, the game is still missing some basic features you would expect. The simple VS. CPU mode is still just as barebone as in the first game. There is still no option to change the 3 minute time limit or the AI. And the Dragonball characters characters still have their special moves tied to their costumes. The only thing they added is the ability to select the music during combat. So I hope you liked those PQs because they are still what the game mostly revolves around. And those new Expert Missions really aren't a good addition as far as I am concerned. I'm not sure if I can really recommend this game. Don't get me wrong, I did spend hundreds of hours onto this game. But this is mostly because I am playing the PC version and therefore have access to the power of modding, which allows me to address many issues of the game. With those amazing modding tools that are available these days it's easy to disable the time limit, change the moves of characters or even add all new characters, costumes and special moves without having to replace anything.
  21. Probably 10 years. Majora's Mask was released in 2000 and I recall that one of the first things I learned on the internet was that there would be a new N64 Zelda game.
  22. Although Revali's Gale is a lot less impressive once you realize that you can easily create your own updraft by dropping four wood on a pile and setting it on fire. Still, it's a good idea to go there early. In addition to what's already mentioned they also sell a set of armor that protects against the cold. Which is handy since there are plenty of very cold areas that require at least level 2 cold protection. Not just the distance but there are also plenty of NPCs who point you there. There are at least two Zora soldiers and one Hylian Traveler. None of the other three areas do that. Nevermind that you already meet Sidon while you are still far away from the Zora village. The only other location that the game actively guides you towards is the Lost Forest by making you track Hetsu.
  23. Because back when Soren pressed Nasir about his suspicions, Nasir implied that he knows that Soren is a Branded... in other words he blackmailed him into staying quiet. From back in Chapter 18: Nasir: I don't have to explain myself to you. Soren: That's true only until I reveal your purpose to Ike. Nasir: Everyone has a secret or two that he wants to bury somewhere deep. Including you...Soren. Soren: ...I don't know what you mean. Nasir: Oh, I trust that we understand each other. You can see in the IkexSoren A support that Soren is utterly terrified of the possibility that Ike would find out about this: Soren: I don’t have any friends, Ike! I don’t have anyone else! If I tell you and you turn on me… I… I… I don’t think I can survive it. Of course in the same support Soren does reveal his secret to Ike. But it's impossible to get that A support before clearing the chapter where Ike learns that Nasir is a traitor.
  24. I could never beat this game. I always find myself unable to get anywhere without playing super careful, so the game just ends up boring me quickly. And even if I could survive playing more aggressively, I can't imagine that it would really change anything. Dodging projectiles is one thing but your turret is just way to slow for that kind of approach. It doesn't help that the game doesn't seem to save your progress as far as I can tell. Unless of course the game actually keeps track of which of the final stages you beat even after a reset but... if that's the case I don't get why the game starts out with allowing you to freely choose any stage but then once you beat that stage you are suddenly restricted to the adjutant stages. That doesn't make any sense unless the game expects you to beat all the three final stages in one go. And I really don't have the patience for that.
