  1. I'm from 5-10 for my main team in Chapter 21, but my EXP/Power are still B rank as far as I'm aware. The only units that I don't regularly use that I'm using are Klein and Igrene. >_> I have Oujay and Fir at Level 15 and I bothered to train Lilina (not because I like her, but I find it easier to baby Mages... not that I babied her, I just gave her finishing blows since some of my units couldn't really one round early on and they were like 9 levels higher). 15 Wyverns and 4 Pallies on the first couple turns is murder, by the way.
  2. If the minus one stacks up over times, your argument would hold water. But it doesn't because Ogma has the strength to compensate. Nope, it's not He has the same chance as everyone else because it can be used on anyone. But he's still not the only one that can use it. Who cares if it goes to waste, it can be used on others. It doesn't matter who gives a damn about what, it's still bias to automatically assume Nabarl is getting it. In fact you may as well save it and give it to someone later who has a tough time doubling instead of giving it to Nabarl, because they might need it more. That's a bad thing in a game where WTA matters, not in a game where you can easily shrug it off. Proof? Sigh, time to bring out some numbers. As a Merc, he'll have about 17 Speed at Level 20. He promotes. 19 Speed. He switches to Horseman. 15 Speed. His strength reaches 14 as well. Promotion, 16 Strength. Horseman, 14 Strength. His stats get "Raped" my fucking asshole. On the other hand, Nabarl... Cavalier, 12 Speed at Level 20. Promotion gives him 1 Speed. 13. Oh wait, Ogma wins here! Cavalier, 13 Strength at Level 20. Promotion gives him Strength, 15. Ogma only loses by one point, with a significant AS and HP lead, as well as a level lead of about two to actually make their Strength stats even. And you honestly think he's getting raped? Not when his HP is a lot higher. WOW ONE LESS DEFENSE MY GODAnd Horseman doesn't do anything for his previous HP growth. Hell, you don't even need to make him a Horseman necessarily; he's fine with Hero, and he's offensively more powerful ESPECIALLY with axes to fight against the WTA. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/favoritism I'm not even seeing where you're calling it huge because Ogma can easily take a level up or two as a Knight to close the gap pretty easily. >_> It's just base Defense, Ogma's HP growth and equal defense growth really doesn't mean Nabarl rapes him. Also: Barst receives support from him, as do Bord and Cord (and Nabarl, in fact) so he helps a lot more characters than Nabarl does.
  3. No, it's favoritism if he's not the only one who can use it. +1 damage isn't significant, though. Nabarl isn't the only one who cares about Speed, too. And Ogma also cares about move. What if the person wants to use a Levin Sword? My point is: you can't say that x person will always get y item to close a gap between two characters because you can always use it on the character with the better stat to further enforce the gap. It's favoritism to do so if everyone is able to use it. Jagen's early game wins against everyone until Chapter 2.Ogma's early game basically destroys Nabarl's, then it carries on for a while. After promotion Ogma can easily get the Horseman class too so the movement gap closes between them. Great, except: Horseman class also uses Swords. Ogma has a high Sword weapon level. Not "raped" seeing as, you even said so yourself, the speed is irrelevant because both are going to double. In which case, I'm pretty sure Ogma has a Strength and HP lead here. They're not bad in a game where WTA is irrelevant. By 1. Where Ogma is winning HP by a lot. Actually, give me the raw stats behind this and I'll take a look for myself since I'm not buying it at all.If not, then Nabarl's not doubling for a while as a Cav + Ogma's offense is raping his as a Merc until like Chapter 13 or 14 so Ogma > Nabarl, because Nabarl's leads aren't THAT significant after he promotes. If anything, it's just move and Defense. This point is completely irrelevant. No matter how you cover it up, it's favoritism.
  4. Oh boy because one damage is SO significant especially considering Ogma's strength lead He's not the only one entitled to speedwings, no matter who we are talking about.Agreeing with your logic, I could easily use a Dragonshield to compensate for the Defense gap, or Boots for the movement gap. Stat boosters are valid, but not as automatically applying it to one person; no one man is entitled to a stat booster. Ogma owns the fighters in one round if Nabarl's taking two. Ogma also has the option of becoming a horseman after promotion so the movement lead thins to 1.
  5. No, it doesn't matter because 10% Hit/Evade WTA is minuscule especially considering very few enemies will miss anyway, and you'll miss very little as well. Proof?
  6. So? She still makes decent use of Resolve, I don't think it matters who can use it better. (It shouldn't considering anyone who can use it better is either weaker than her at this point or is a lot stronger, enough to handle enemies where she can't). I'm not even saying she's that good. I'm just saying that she does well with Resolve.
  7. Mercenary Ogma.Upper hand in WTA? Maybe as a cav, but this point doesn't matter too much because evasion rates don't get high at all (WTA doesn't help much, only 10%) and your units tend to miss very little at the same time. At best, it's a minuscule factor. Nabarl, as a cav, is pretty much even with Ogma except Ogma can double as a Merc right from the get go and for the chapters after that. Nabarl has 6 base speed as a Cav which stunts his starting offense. As a Myrmidon, Ogma has 3 more base HP and 1 less base Def (in comparison to Nabarl), while they both have the same growth. Ogma's bases are still winning on the offensive side by quite a bit; 3 more strength and 1 more speed. The move advantage exists only as a Cavalier, then Nabarl loses much of his base offense and his growth is pretty much on par with Merc Ogma's at this point.
  8. You mean- allowing you to use powerful weapons with little penalty, because he steals the Silver Card - allowing you to promote many characters with little penalty, because he steals the Silver Card - allowing you to promote DART without raping Funds, because he steals the Silver Card - him and Legault both can loot chests, but Matthew allows you to steal the Silver Card that allows you much, much flexibility of Funds that it makes characters usable and has the potential to make Tactics a little easier (because you plow enemies faster) isn't worthy of being best in the game?
  9. So? You have to bring her into the final chapter and 4-P and 4-3 (where she has more movement than your non-fliers and physical units), and I don't believe she takes away slots from the final chapter until Part IV. It's what I always do anyway.
  10. She does fine with Resolve, lol ... in NM anyway.
  11. That's not pathetic, they have over a half chance of hitting you there. If FE factors in another RNG, then it's higher than it looks.
  12. Oh yeah, also I've seen a website that somehow takes Castlevania Legends as canon, while also accepting Lament of Innocence as canon. lol that is so inconsistent (considering Trevor was the first Belmont to kill Dracula, NOBODY IN THE BELMONT LINE HAS DRACULA'S BLOOD, and Alucard isn't even born yet) that it's kinda funny.
  13. I don't feel like it either, but I'm curious what there is to steal in ENM (or EHM for that matter).
  14. Matthew shouldn't be that high on ENM. Sure he can steal and sure he can grab stuff from chests, but there is no Silver Card in ENM.
  15. Hardin > Ogma? What? Ogma has better Strength, comes earlier, and a lot less HP. The only thing Hardin has over him is more Spd (ha, and you even said so yourself that AS is irrelevant) and Skl. I think Hardin has only a slight lead in defense overall as well, which doesn't make up for tons more HP and Strength. Same argument applies to Nabarl vs Ogma. I think Ogma > both of them.
  16. And storyline wise he was pretty important considering he was the last Belmont to hold the whip before 1999.
  17. I think Athena's requirements should penalize her more than the rest simply because you have a lot less units to use at this time, not sure if that counts as a double standard or not. The later on Gaiden chars shouldn't be too badly punished I guess, with some of them removing the punishment... though having less than 15 available isn't too bad because that's about how many slots are available so punishing none could be cool... I dunno where I stand s ince I stated this point so I'll wait to hear on someone else (who understands opportunity costs, by the way; I have yet to hear what B2DB thinks on opportunity costs anyway).
  18. I've played all the GBA/DS ones, SotN, Bloodlines, and SCIV and enjoyed most of them.
  19. Better: IS: Let's put a Lord in a game with low Speed against enemies with ridiculously high hit and AS! ^_________^
  20. I'd rather give that to Kurth since then he does loads of damage and fears no counter attack, whereas Sothe does.
  21. Rolf sucks at the beginning and is average at best in the end. Shinon is good at the beginning, sucks when he gets back in, and is just as good as Rolf in the endgame. The early game advantage is what places him much above Rolf. Rolf? CLEARLY stat wise? Shinon's growths are monstrous even if his bases are poor! I'd rather have a game that helps the team early on (in his availability) and doesn't do much later on than someone who hinders the team early on (in his availability) and doesn't do much later on.
  22. Wave dashing isn't that big a deal in Melee (unless you're talking chars like Luigi). In fact, L Canceling is the main thing and it was there for 64 AND Melee and there's a bastardized version in brawl (if you count land canceling of certain moves as the new L cancel). In 64 it was a glitch, in Melee there's proof that L canceling was intended. It can be played competitively and as a party game. Not one or the other. (Also IIRC Guilty Gear is a better fighter than Melee)
  23. I'm pretty sure basic statistics applies to our averages more than basic rounding. In which case, there is an equal chance of either result occurring, the averages just show a sort of mean.. well, it's basically all of their potential stats * the probability of having each. So 7 * .5 + 8 * .5 = 3.5 + 4 + 7.5, which leans towards neither side in terms of statistics.
