IGdood
Curissairs. Melon Cutterz. Get. Hokay. I'll get them as soon as I get the money. Ya know what's funny? It seems like everyone's getting a cavalry unit. Everyone's trying to be a knight?
IGdood
We have updates! Improving income, once more. My light galley scout has reached the New World and occupied a random rebel port. While my only other ship carries our expeditionary force to the Atlantic Ocean. Hopefully no Polish fleet decides to intercept it. The risk paid off. Alright, it's time to make our own claim in the Americas. We'll start with these rebel provinces. I'm sure our knights love the weather. Oh, and the cannons were at a bad firing position, so I moved everyone forward. I love my ANGRY MARINES. Does anyone get the reference? Firing on the natives.... It pisses them off and they run towards me. Canister works wonders. A volley of arrows takes out some Marksboyz, but the native bowmen routed. Moving my forces forward, I send the Gitz and the Aesir to the flanks. They shall take out the enemy general. Militia charges some other natives that didn't run. The Aesir decide to go after the natives while the Gitz takes on their general. Except the Gitz were suddenly ambushed by archers and lose many riders. They fight valiantly while everyone else rushes to their aid. "Get off my horse, craven cur!" So while everyone else was busy, the Termina Division decides to attack the enemy general. Of course, the Aesir wouldn't have their glory stolen by a bunch of non-nobles. And so an Aesir felled the enemy general. which I caught, here. We win! Wow, no rebellions. Good province. Possible units for recruitment. o_o My income skyrockets by 2500? I'm definitely getting a few of these. To the next province, which I autoresolved. Reinforcing my lands back at h Scouting around reveals pirates... Oh ho, just in time you bastards. Holy shit, they were just waiting around!? IGdood
I'm boosting the amount of units every forumite can claim to 3 units. So, previously on Empire Total War, the dastardly Mughal Empire declared war on us to wrest our possessions in the Americas! It's a rainy day...do you not feel the drops on your head? Seeing the arrangement of the enemy forces made me puzzle, so I shift my soldiers around a bit. The Mughal bombard me with rockets, a long distance artillery weapon with the accuracy of a hand axe flying at a swordmaster. Annnd Mughal generals ride on elephants and are actually dangerous. Peasants with axes? I'm gonna be extra careful with the pause button. This rain is making visibility really shitty. Why is it that my rockets never hurt anyone but the enemy rockets managed to take down so many of the Termina Division? Some enemy cavalry speed through, and are shot. What's nice about some infantry is that if they realize an enemy is approaching too quickly they'll forgo the time-consuming Fire By Rank and just Free Fire. Hmm, more cavalry seek to flank me? Bitches don't know 'bout my square formation. Someone should do a picture of that. Usually you only need to blink once and suddenly the enemy army is upon you. Here we go, let's have a shootout. Some of the Mughal decide that instead of shooting, plain-out charging my militia is better. Heheh, Canister shot isn't scaring them away. That's professional. They attempt to flood my center with soldiers. Marksboyz! Use those bayonets! The smell of smoke, blood, and rain... They've overrun the Armed Citizenry! Annnd the Order Cavalry charge past the routing citizenry, cutting down a few (by accident, I think) and into the Mughal mob. ANGRY MARINES. ALWAYS ANGRY. ALL THE TIME. CHAAAAAAAFFFUUUUUUUUUU Wow, these guys sure aren't going down quick enough. The cannons are overrun! Fall back! Sword & Shield vs. Bayonet. I try to move the militia back so they can open fire at the melee. Their peasants run. Aesir Rider - PUSH FORWARD FELLOW KNIGHTS! It's their general! The Termina aren't so lucky....the Mughal decide to fire into the melee at the cavalrymen. While the Marksboyz and some militia are busy melee'ing people. Oi! Those gitz fink der gawt betta mownts than us! Lez show 'em the powa of teh SPIKY GIIITZ! WAAAAGGGGHHH!!! As you say...Gitz...as you say...we follow. Sure enough, the elephants are swarmed and are cut down. And the whole time, they were sending rockets over. The Termina exact their revenge. Mughal invasion beaten! The Royal Cairo Infantry Guards are leveling very very quickly...

The pack file is inside the zip file, you need winrar to unzip it, I think. Parrhesia
We get three? I'll save my third, in any event. Well then, I claim some Mounted Tribal Auxiliary who will now be called: 'Jaguar Squad' Will recruit in the next next next update :D We get three? I'll save my third, in any event. So it was a Hero MU lobbing one at Shanam? I suppose. Wtf man. Maybe Termina Division just has horrible luck. Scouting around, I see the Mughal have taken up residence on a nearby island. Oh shit, the Ottomans are declaring war. You too, Sweden? The Order's line infantry will not yield to you! All men on the walls. Lol, polearm infantry. Oh, and the Swedes are here too. All able musketman open fire! Bah, cowardly blondes, they waver! Ottoman infantry show up. Hey what the hell are you guys doing down there? They got swarmed and all of them were killed. Your polearm doesn't scare me! Brave citizen. They come in waves and we pushed back each. It's kinda funny how I used armed citizenry (they're free units) as sacrificial meatshields. They actually do okay fighting on the walls though. Some of the line infantry decide to shoot before entering the melee. Sorry for the lack of captions. It's just pure melee fighting from start to finish. Well except those annoying horse archers who shoot up and manage to kill a lot of my men. Last group of Ottomans to kill. Oh look, their artillery finally blew a hole in the walls. Which their remaining cavalry attempt to pour into. So i rush some troops down. Form a square! Of course, I throw some citizens at the camel nomads for the lulz.
IGdood
Infantry! Open fire! Annnd charge those damnable horse archers! FUCK YOU, ARTILLERY Epic victory! The remnants of the Mughal invasion force run on over to the other colony and attack. With only axeman and armed citizens, let's see what happens. Lol...their rocket crew is charging us? open fire! Getting into position.... The garrisoned citizens open fire. Flank attack! Well...not really...CHAAARGE! Axe vs. Axe! GO Pwnt. A little trouble here... That golden-robe guy took an axe straight in the chest. They run. "Okay guys, I think if we just try to reload faster we'll win this!" "C'moon, they're getting closer!" "Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit." "FUCK RUUUN!" "FIRE THE FUCKING THING" "AAAAAAGGGGGGHHHH" "Dance, Mughal, DANCE!" I'm definitely putting one of these guys into my main army. Meh, whatever. Some diplomacy... And an alliance with Britain. Melon Cutterz, who possibly may have heard of the Pineapple Huggers. More attack than the Order Cavalry, but 1 point less defense. The Melon Cutterz will accompany a force to conquer Algiers. Under siege! A second invasion force from the Mughals! No time to replenish, we must attack! They sally out! Melon Cutterz on the field...with armor. Moving to the side. Enemy light infantry? They'll be cut up, heheh.
IGdood
They plant stakes to deter the Cuirassiers. >_> But they unload on the line infantry, and while they reload the Cutterz charge home! Meanwhile, the line is engaged. Unfortunately some enemy citizens turn around and shoot the cutterz. But they run anyways. One more charge by the Cutterz. Victory! However, Algiers is not yet ours yet. Not bad for a first time, heck, they leveled up already. Next update, relieving the siege of Cayenne! IGdood
Against both the Turks and Sweden-something (...)? Good thing they didn't engaged in an actual pincer attack... I think. But soon the Aesir Riders will teach those descendants of Midgar a lesson or two, just you wait! Well the Ottomans were too busy swarming, and Sweden is too poor to afford anything. Previously on Empire Total War....we were defending our assets in the Americas from the Mughal.... Reinforcements in the form of native axemen arrive. Enemy rockets in bound...they take out a few men, but aren't too much of a problem. I send citizens to shoot the rockets. I didn't send anyone else just in case the whole Mughal force comes down on them. Some Mughal cavalry throw themselves at my forces, and are quickly repulsed. While some natives go after some cavalry that was circling around me. Seems like their whole force is going after my axemen forces. I move my citizens aside to clear way for the charging axemen. Also, this can allow the citizens to fire into the melee. I wasn't sure what to do with the cavalry, as their numbers are kind of low and the enemy isn't at breaking point yet. I swear I could've heard one of the ANGRY MARINES swearing when his gun refused to fire. Huh...natives are routing for some reason. I move the Termina a bit closer so they can hit better with their pistols. See that tiny strip of Mughal soldiers just exposed? Perfect Order Cavalry targets. See it now? Bringing the saber down! Annnd the enemy routs. Get away from here, you Mughal bastards! Conquering the Algiers... This battle is really, really short. I can't even call it a battle. It's just a mopping up. And Morocco immediately feels pissed that my provinces border it, and so declares war on me. Fucker. I hope I can pacify the Algiers people in time before they rebel. Oh dear. I don't think my reinforcements will make it in time to Tripoli. Here we go... Last stand? Nice little backpacks. Almost immediately they are on the walls. IGdood
Kill ''em all! Ye shalt not PASS! There's still a lot more Otto's out there. This poor guy got isolated and still he fights to his last. This group of line infantry is being overwhelmed. Same with these colonial militia They take one of the gates, and their cavalry and whoever isn't on the walls attempts to charge in. Of course, the Order militia cavalry won't have that. Oh, the walls came down too. I pull back the exhausted and decimated militia, while the citizens charge in. Getting owned by their own Royal Cairo Infantry Guards.... To the last man and the last round! Last stand mode! Generics. Gotta love them. The militia make themselves useful. There's not that many enemies left.....perhaps we may win? Unfortunately, the chunk of wall that the militia were exiting was blown, scaring them to the point where they routed. Damn, what a scene. Upon exiting the for to mop out the attackers one of the line infantry's morale immediately dropped to wavering. Finish them off! Shit, the line infantry rout. Well there's one group left. My captain's not doing so well... They're...running away....! That was too close. Meanwhile, the knights besiege some pirates....I decide to go for the assault. I put all the named infantry units on one side and all the generic generics on the other. Heh, bandanas. Wut. Goin' up. Militia make first contact. Waiting for all their fellow soldiers to climb up before moving.
IGdood
Axemen rush to the center of the fort. Marksboyz casually stroll down. Brawl in the shadows. Charge! Being inexperienced and not exactly the best fighters, the axemen are quickly cut down. The marines open fire, taking care not to shoot the Marksboyz. And then they charge. Then the enemy general himself charges, and is quickly cut down. Jaguar Hunters are recruited...now I just need to get them to the main army. New units for recruitment. Shitty unit. New tech, too. Moving on to the next island... I also managed to make peace with the Mughal and Sweden. And the Morocco took Algiers. =(

IGdood
BUCCANEERS YES But were you expecting Orcs? PRESUMPTION! THESE ARE THE NOBLE 126th Avon Gate Foot AND THEY SHALL KNOW NO FEAR! Your wish is my command. So uh, I lost my navy to some pirates. Now the army is stuck on Antigua. Not like they can move anywhere even with a navy, since the population is pretty pissed off. My investments yield good buildings. Yeah I autoresolved the siege assault on Antigua. The Moroccans think they're good enough to siege Tunis. I prove them wrong. Turns out I forgot to repair the walls from last time. So I put some guys down on the ground and the rest man the walls. I'm not sure if they look cool or just have a cool name. Some rush through the hole. Others climb the walls. Shoot 'em like target practice! Of course, the citizenry serve as great sword fodder. It was a swift battle. I recruit an actual general to lead our forces. Mr. Spinelli will be tasked with taking Algiers. Holy fuck, I'll need to watch the seas very carefully. Oh yeah, the Melon Cutterz leveled down after reinforcing. And the Moroccans attempt to attack our forces. So, our general sports a fucking manly moustache. They bombard the infantry with cannon. That's alright, at least they're not shooting our cavalry. Nice helmets. So, standard procedure. Everyone's shooting and getting shot. Melon Cutterz circle around and pwn. Well they were intercepted by some enemy cavalry so they got locked there. With infantry support they quickly cut those down and rush on to cut everyone else down. Chaaaaarrrrggggeeee!! Yeah they kinda just carved through most of the routing forces and what remained of the enemy who wasn't running. Well that's one Moroccan force down. Reinforcements of light dragoons and some african infantry. Here's your Avon Gate Foot, Furetchen. Truth be told, the buccaneers....are a bit of strange unit. They have pistols, but the range is low. They're primarily melee units, but their attack isn't too high but their defense isn't that great either. They do run pretty damn fast and have great stamina....and come in a group of 200, which is a lot. Oh, they also have pretty good morale. Moroccans are attacking again... Light dragoons have a range of 90, and they ended up shooting some of the line infantry in the back. So I shift them to the left. Some Moroccan cavalry were charging, and were shot, and the Cutterz finish off the rest of them. Surprise! Shoot and run!
IGdood
Fire by Rank works wonders. So do the light dragoons. MELON CUTTERZ CHOP THOSE HEADS LIKE MELONS These guys actually proved troublesome. Win. By the way, I managed to capture some Polish ships with galley spam. They include two second-rates (very heavy ships), one steam ship (useful when the wind is against you),
IGdood
So yeah, I autoresolved the assault of Algiers because it had only some militia and stuff... Upgrading a military building in Tunis~ A new cavalry unit....lol...top tier, I believe. Stats trump that of the Order Cavalry and Cuirassiers. Okay, I'm letting you guys transfer unit names, that is I disband one of your old units or erase their names and transfer the name over to a new unit....to symbolize promotion or reclass or whatever. Mr. Spinelli is becoming quite an able commander. Ottomans encroach on my territory....well more like besiege it..but I beat them back later. Main army moves on to Caracao, the last stronghold of the pirates. Besieged. New tech. Remember that Heavy First Rate I was talking about? Well, the Polish have it in a fleet that's not quite at full strength. I decide to intercept. This is a Steamship. It's not the most heavily armed, and its short ranged. Its advantage is that it can sail against the wind with less of a speed penalty than other ships, and it can be very fast sailing with the wind. It also tends to explode if it takes a cannonball in the boiler. This is a Second Rate Ship of the Line. Ships of the Line are your bread-and-butter battle ships. The higher their rate, the larger and meaner they are. Also, the higher their rate, the slower and less maneuverable they are. Actually, I should educate everyone about ships. So....going by tiers. Crap Tier Sloops - Most basic, I have no idea how to use these guys. Fast, yes. But too little guns and goes down quickly. Brigs - A bit better than Sloops. Easily spammable. Questionable/Weird/Other Tier Light Galleys, Galleys - Their guns are at the front of the ship, and they're very heavy guns. But, they only have very few guns. They're also slow, and will go down in a few hits. However, they use oars, and so can sail against the wind with less penalties than other ships, so they're also a weird type to use. Steamships - Hard to use, and their traits have been described above. Carronade Frigates - Short-ranged, medium speed, but their guns pack a huge punch. Bomb Ketches/Rocket Ships - Tiny ships with mortars or rockets, hangs back and shoots at enemy ships from a distance in an attempt to scare them away or set them on fire. Will go down in a few hits, if the enemy ever gets closed. Trade Ship Tier Indiaman - Not meant for combat, used to place on trade nodes so they can send income back to you. Galleons/Fluyts - Can actually stand up to maybe...6th rate ships of the line. Mid-Tier 6th-4th rate ships of the line, Privateers, Heavy Privateers - Medium ships, tends to pwn everything I've listed above (except Steamships) Also includes Eastern ships such as Xebecs, which are between Brigs and 6th rates. Razees - A very balanced ship class...I believe its a 4th rate that shaved off its top deck so it has the speed of a 5th rate but more guns than a 5th rate.....yeah it's a weird one, but effective. High-Tier 3rd-1st rates, including the Heavy 1st Rate. - Floating, gloating fortresses. Slow as fuck and not great with turning speed, but anything within their cannon sights will go down. Okay, enough of my boring descriptions, let's move on. This is the Heavy 1st Rate I want to capture. The Polish ships were waving back and forth, so I kinda did not know exactly where they were coming in, hence my slightly messy ship formation. Still, I'll be delivering the first broadside to them. Here my galleys were coming in toward the enemy's side. A dumb move on my part, but they're slow. My steamship sails against the wind and fires on their Second Rate. Here one of my galleys is already routing, but I've got two more coming in. The Heavy 1st Rate looms in the distance. Good thing they're in a bit of a traffic jam. I have my galleys fire on the 1st Rate, maybe it'll actually do something. Some of the Polish ships are either routing or surrendered. One volley from the 1st Rate to one of my privateers makes it surrender, a testament to its power. My other privateer with the captain maneuvers around the 1st rate, hoping to avoid its cannons and stay at its rear. The surrendered Privateer catches on fire and burns. My steamship sails into a full volley of the 1st rate and takes major damage. See that blue icon on my Steamship's card? It means its taking on water and will sink shortly. I am sad. And one of my galleys explodes. Taking on water.... -sigh- I move my Privateer far from the action to deal with the enemy 6th rate. My other two second rates will deal with this Heavy First Rate. Sweet. Well, there goes some pollution. I order one of my second rates to board the heavy first rate, hopefully distracting the enemy crew long enough to stop firing. Hooks are thrown, and still they shoot at each other at close range. My other second rate is shooting from the distance. Leap across! Don't waver now... Captured! The sacrifice is worth it. I take the Heavy First Rate into my own fleet. The rest were sold as prize money for my coffers. Edited April 24, 2011 by skitarii
IGdood
By the way you guys can claim ships too, they won't count in the 3-unit limit. So...the pirates are sallying out. Trenches up, this should be quick. I think I'll make it standard procedure to put the axemen behind my ANGRY MARINES, since the marines are few in number. Jaguar Squad's first battle. My bad, I named them Jaguar Hunters...I'll fix this. SORRY ACACIA! Avon Foot Guard ready for an ambush. Due to a graphical glitch the enemy pirates look unarmed, but their stats are still there. I can just look at these beautiful graphics all day. FIRE! And they charge! Jaguar Squad and militia open fire. Pistol and sword, eheheh. What a bright, lovely day. Jaguar Squad is picking their targets. And now that the pirates are so close the axemen charge! Avon Foot Guard also. Aesir Riders cut down a few pirates. The Spiky Gitz spot the enemy commander on the field, and so they go straight for him. The resulting charge kills off most of the bodyguards. Win. Hehehehehe. Poland accepts a peace treaty with me.
