Acacia Sgt
IIRC D.C. is actually our third capital and center of government as the United States of America. Philadelphia, one other I can't remember, then D.C. I might be wrong though. That would be correct. It was first Philadelphia, then New York, and finally Washington DC. IGdood
I like horses, so if this stuffs your plan, I'm sorry! Cuirassiers - The Chainsaw Brigade Light Infantry - Black Rock Shooters Reserved. I'll assign a good unit for the light infantry class to the Black Rock Shooters. 2 Questions about this campaign. 1 - The capital is in Philadelphia, not Washington D.C. Is there any reason for this? 2 - Is the US Civil War bound to happen in this game, or does that simply not exist? Acacia and Integ nailed it down right. However, there is a US Civil War mod in the works. ...it was?! Um. ...Well, now I know marginally more about US history. This game was responsible for 5% of my score in a college Western history class. XD

IGdood
Okay so I updated all my computer drivers, including BIOS. And this game isn't working. Nothing explains my anger right now.....
IGdood
So I'm still not sure wtf is wrong with the game/computer/whatnot. Maybe it could be overheating and I'll have to buy one of those overheating pad thingies......except I don't think my parents will let me buy stuff for gaming purposes.... Anyways... I have a few screenies of a deployment phase....there were some pretty nifty battle screens including one pic of the 18th New Charcatra and another rifle unit one-volleying a unit of cavalry.....but I deleted those since the game froze afterwards. I actually started a new USA campaign 3 hours ago in an attempt to see if that would help with the freezing issue. I found out that it didn't; nothing's different though, I followed the exact same steps and the same countries died.....etc. I have great sadness. So I only uploaded the pics of the units as they would be pictured in battle. I've turned down the graphics all I can....any more and the screenshots wouldn't be able to capture shit. So.... this LP looks like it really WILL die. x_x Anyways, that aside...let's keep going.... By Presidential Decree, let it be known that these independent men be named the Oscar Mikes. Let them always be on the move, leading the way for the main army. Oh yeah, they're also pretty skilled marksmen, decent attack, low defense, and a surprising charge bonus. They don't have bayonets though. By Presidential Decree, let it be known that these Cuirassiers shall be called the Chainsaw Brigade. Equipped with armor where everyone else uses only clothing, these heavy cavalry know only one thing to do: Carve a bloody day into enemy lines (provided they're not prepared to withstand a charge). Amazing stats all around, high defense for a cavalry unit. It's a night at the museum! I decide that maybe it wouldn't be so great to attack the Cherokee just yet....so I wait for this tech to be unlocked! By Presidential Decree, these 2nd Continental Light Dragoons have been assigned to the Terminian Division. While not excelling in a melee, their marksmanship on the saddle is unparalleled. By Presidential Decree, let Lee's Legion be renamed to be the Acacia Dragoons. While their shooting abilities are average on the mount, their melee stats are amazing for dragoons. Best tactic: Fire off, then charge! By Presidential Decree, let it be known that this unit of the Legion of the United States be called the Black Rock Shooters. Jack-of-all trades, these men can be assigned to do anything: Hold the line with bayonets, snipe off enemies as light infantry, etc. By presidential decree, let it be known that these expert riflemen (80 FUCKING ACCURACY) be the precursors to Delta Force. (Claimed by a friend of mine in real life) True snipers, let all their bullets fly true. Also decent melee stats. So I go after Florida....and... I decide to mount a siege assault. Here are some in-game shots of your named units. 18th Charcatra in the back 53rd East Gruen Foot Guard are hiding...heh. The Sable Order and the Chainsaw Brigade stand side by side. Missile cavalry together...heheh.

IGdood
...You're tellin' me these are the LOWEST graphic settings?! Okay, maybe medium. XD What I meant to say is that if I turned the settings down even more then the screenshots would be.....incomprehensible. IGdood
Anyways, so in some strange act of mercy/ in real life RNG my computer grants me the boon of a battle....after I turn off some of the more special graphical settings such as.... Volumetric Lighting: Supposedly makes the lighting more realistic in foggy environments. Heat Distortion/Heat Haze: Makes things seem wavy in a heated explosion, sun, etc. Depth of Field: Makes things in the distance blurrier; objects in the center of the screen become clearer, objects out of focus are also blurrier. I suspect this COULD be the culprit of the freezing, although I'm usually wrong since I played the first half of the Prussian campaign with settings on high and no problem. Now why do I suspect it? According to an official staff member from the game this option causes everything to be rendered THREE TIMES. Basically you see the unit, you see a blurry version of the unit, and then you see like a silhouette version of the unit. Anyways, on with the screenies. Its a continuation of the battle above...I think this is the 5th time I've replayed it...heheh. I used it to experiment with tactics before the inevitable freeze....except for this time. So, I put all the light infantry in one group, and escort them with the Sable Order and the Chainsaw Brigade. The Sable Order will intercept and lance anyone who tries to come by, and the Chainsaw Brigade will steamroll whoever survives the Sable Order's charge. Then again, the likelihood of them getting bloodied up is low since there are FOUR units of light infantry. The army's overall melee ability is pretty shitty. Those are Native American MEDICINE MEN on the walls over there, the toughest melee units in their roster. They also throw tomahawks to great effect. Not wanting to risk heavy casualties for our named units, I send forth the generics and un-named special units (1st Delaware and 2nd New York) to the walls. And so they march off....TO THEIR DOOMS BAHAHAHA So after I send off those line infantry I turn around only to see two reinforcing units. I test out my fast response team's capabilities. That is, I wheel around all the dragoons and the Other Kinda Indians and see what happens. So I'm assuming those angry tribal musket riders don't like traitors....aka Indians working for the White man. Yes, they went straight for the Other Kinda Indians and opened fire, killing about 18 dudes. All the other guys return fire, including the Other Kinda Indians, routing those assholes instantly. But not before they smash into the Other Kinda Indians.... And I said there were two units hitting us from the rear right? Well the other guys were Medicine Men. I get the dragoons out of the way, letting them take potshots. The Medicine Men smash into the 53rd East Gruen Foot Guard, who turned around just in time to not receive a rear attack casualty penalty and countercharge. They take out the Medicine Men in a few minutes, although some casualties were caused from friendly fire by the Other Kinda Indians! INTEGRITY PUT YOUR MEN IN DISCIPLINE DAMMIT Meanwhile, the offensive line marches forward. I didn't notice a unit of Native Lancers smash into the 1st Delaware. I quickly order a square and OHKO those idiots. I don't order the guys to climb the walls. No. I've got plenty of ammo. Let's shoot those natives off the walls. Sure, they've got wall cannons, but the losses are acceptable. And they foolishly charge their chieftain out of the gates at the 2nd New York. USE BAYONETS! HA! I get harassed by more cavalry, but that's okay. Bitches don't know 'bout my squares. While all that was going on, the light infantry brigade move forward. And once they arrive, I make then snipe the bastards off the walls. Since their cannons aren't pointed this way....its a pretty nice shoot. The riflemen are the first to fire, what with 125 range. The Black Rock Shooters and Oscar Mikes are getting into position. However they managed to walk themselves into another cannon's sights. KEEP SHOOTING BOYS! YEEHAW! The cannon on the wall takes out 5 unlucky Rangers. I move them over to the side where the cannon can't fire at them (it only shoots straight) ....where the Rangers can fire in relative peace. :D Everybody here would get a gamergasm from hearing the sound of constant musket fire. Yes, it was constant, no reloading time. The 18th Charcatra, the Oscar Mikes, the Black Rock Shooters, Delta Force....they just wouldn't quit shooting. THEY KEPT GOING. BLAM BLAM BLAM Close up shot of eclipse's Black Rock Shooters. Note that they're the only light infantry to use bayonets. After about 10 minutes of nonstop shooting, the walls are "clean." So I move the guys back to cover the gate entrances. I move up two units of generics to take the walls. Hopefully the game doesn't freeze over here. I move the other 3 units back to cover the flanks of the guys moving up the walls. Its funny. I switch on melee mode but I can't target these medicine men. The game has treated them as "dead" or "gone off the battlefield," However, my units won't fight them in melee, and get killed one-by-one....sorta. AVOID THE GLITCHED INVINCIBLE UNITS CLUSTERFUCK IMMINENT DIE PEASANTS Its a win! And so ends the first battle of you lot. The kill ratio's pretty good. I didn't get to use the Puckle Guns, the Chainsaw Brigade, and the Sable Order. Maybe next time... These PAGANS! They have trashed all Western parts of Florida! I MUST DEMOLISH THESE THINGS You guys better start hoping that I don't encounter the freeze + Crash to desktop ever again.

Acacia Sgt
Nice, my Dragoons did fine in battle, specially the Terminian Division. And certainly better than the generic division. Maybe you should consider also giving them under my command for better results. XD
IGdood
UpDATE TIME So, a few units of reinforcements have arrived to keep order in Florida. I move the main army out deeper into Cherokee territory. Just two provinces for the pickings. Yum yum. Drink, drink, drink. Well the Mughals ALWAYS get wiped out... Advancing naval tech..... And my industrial tech. Gotta keep the money flowing! At this point I switched out a unit of line infantry for a unit of US Marines. Their morale-boosting aura and melee capability will make them excellent meatshields...... Independence Hall has been built! A new election puts some godly ministers in government. The next turn arrives.....and we head off to Chicasa! I decide not to attack, since they seem to have so many troops....instead I put the place under siege. A turn passes, and they sally out against me. I split the army into two groups. East Gruen, Marines, Terminian, Chainsaw, Delta Froce, Lugnasadh, Acacia, and the Oscar Mikes will be on the left side with the general and the 2nd New York and a generic. Meanwhile, the Sable Order, 1st Delaware, Charcatra, Black Rocks, Other Kinda Indians, and some more generics will hold the right. The Cherokee force is pretty big. I don't think I can do the hammer and anvil tactic. Looks like its gonna be a full on line battle. I move the right group forward a bit. The first shot is fired by the Charcatra. Some lancers attempt to flank me, but I put the Acacia Dragoons on the sides. Yes, they make 32 lancers turn cold. The main body of the Cherokee force is ready to crash into my lines. All light infantry open up! Still, those musketmen will be a problem with their 90 range. I love these minutemen. They seem to have no trouble aiming instantly, and I can put them in 4 ranks deep and all of them will open fire. Plus, its not even volley fire, but a non stop massed fire. Oh yeah, the Other Kinda Indians are also giving it their all. Just hope they didn't shoot anyone in the back by accident. The right flank seems to be winning the battle! Looks like there's quite a lot of them. I order the Terminian Division to take up a position behind the infantry. And they open up on the move. Looks like the Lughanasadh couldn't hold off the horde. And I throw the marines into the fray before the natives hit the puckle guns. Remember there was a gap between the two groups. My general happened to wander into the middle somehow, and he's in a bit of a mess. I send in the Chainsaw Brigade to cut up some Cherokee. You must admit, their uniforms are fancier than those Fire Emblem cavaliers' armor. They're wearing a cuirass in an era of gunpowder, and doing things the good ol' fashioned way. That is, CUT A SWATHE THROUGH THEM. And the Cherokee Army is in retreat. You cannot beat me, I have superior firepower. While they're running I decide to send in the generic dragoons to do some bloody work. The Gruen Foot Guard seem to be having a field day bayonetting fleeing natives... There was a last unit of Musketmen giving hell to my marines, so I send in the Terminian Division to cut them down. WEEN. It turns out that some of the survivors are still holed up waiting to sally out again. And they do. I just decide to see if I can do a no-losses battle for once. Hopefully they can get into a firing position before those lancers get here. Delta force opens fire, but they kill nobody. What the fuck? I zoom in and take a look at whatever may be blocking their way. Fuck, they're firing straight and theirs a small elevation in front of them. They're not gonna reload in time. Luckily the Oscar Mikes open fire and manage to score a few kills. And the Black Rock Shooters add in their own musket balls to the mix. Combining 90 and 120 range CAN be a good thing. And the lancers manage to charge......at the same time the rifles manage to get a reload in. And nobody was killed....on my side.
