Kon
Remind me, does Seel get a good stab water move not called surf upon purification? Seel's purified moveset is Helping Hand, Surf, Safegaurd, and Ice Beam... starting to rethink choosing Vaporeon as my evolution.
MacLovin
Yeah, but Surf is like EQ in XD, I think. It hits both Mons on the field. So, if you have something like Gligar out, it get mauled. Anything with low sp def as a teammate gets mauled, so IDK if I want it. Starting to think that Zubat may be worth it in XD
Zanarkin
I'm pretty sure surf only affects the enemy pokes. Just checked, serebii says both oponents for gen 3 surf. Edited February 24, 2012 by SlayerX
dondon151
Hoppip Makes those Shadows much easier to catch, and supports Numel with dat Sleep Powder and Ground immunity Butterfreeee I'm gonna use Espeon. Psybeam+Bite and I think it gets hypnosis and the TWave move tutor. Nope and nope. My god, Serebii is like, 5 clicks away. Literally. Remind me, does Seel get a good stab water move not called surf upon purification? No, but why would you need something other than Surf?
MacLovin
Butterfreeee Comes a bit later. Nope and nope. My god, Serebii is like, 5 clicks away. Literally. I wasn't on a PC when I typed that. Surfing the web takes a chunk of phone battery I was going off of memory, and turns out that I was thinking of the gen 4 surf No, but why would you need something other than Surf? Ok, so I made a mistake. Yeah, Vaporeon would be good. Access to Aurora Beam and stuff on level up isn't shabby. As for Jolteon, I think it's mediocre here I can see Roselia getting picked, for powders+Magical Leaf.
dondon151
Comes a bit later. No shit, that was just an offhand suggestion because Butterfree does have a 97.5% accurate Sleep Powder in this game - which is pretty much the only reason to use Butterfree in any context. Yeah, Vaporeon would be good. Not when your strongest move is a non-STAB Ice Beam until Hydro Pump (well OK technically Blizzard but no one likes Blizzard), because Surf doesn't exist in this game. It's slow to boot. I can see Roselia getting picked, for powders+Magical Leaf. Roselia has no powders without using the move relearner, only a very unreliable Grasswhistle. Shadow Mir
Oh shit, I forgot how much I loved the music in this game and Colosseum. The Cipher Lab music <3 Yes indeedy!

Butterfree comes just before Citidark We may not just go and capture everything on Citidark. Alot of Citidark Shadows has effective moves on Butterfree. It's only saving grace appears to be fairly accurate powders. As for Vaporeon, I get the point. As for Roselia, I can't remember everything offhand, so I messed up I can see Tangela/Butterfree being late picks for sleep utility.
Venusaur
Hoppip's evolutions are faster, it comes earlier, and it gets Cotton Spore/Leech Seed for even more support. And of course it does get STAB on whatever Grass move I get it. (I can deal with the lesser accuracy) Butterfree'd be a nice secondary sleeper, though Edited February 24, 2012 by Venusaur
Snivy
Well, Ledyba for its great availability and since I've used it well before.
Venusaur
Well, I've started, and so far I blitzed to Numel and caught all of the Hexagon Brothers' Pokemon. No detailed stats since I'm posting from my 3DS. Numel (M) Lv. 15, Serious nature Espeon (M) Lv. 16, Quiet nature Teddiursa (F) Lv. 17, Impish nature Teddiura picked up an ULTRA BALL of all things! dondon151
By the way, I have a favor to ask of all of you: If Teddiursa gets something via Pickup, can you please tell me what item he picked up at what level? Thanks. I'm guessing that XD uses the same table as Emerald, but since there's no use for the Repel or Escape Rope, I'm wondering what items are substituted.
