My second skill roll for Draug had Distant Counter in it. God bless RNGesus.

I currently have

29+1 Marth (Silver Axe+, Desperation 3, Drive Spd 2, Steady Stance 3)
36+1 Caeda (Thoron+, Ruptured Sky, Swift Sparrow 3, Lull Atk/Spd 3, Distant Guard 3, Chill Atk 3)
32+0 Draug (Silver Sword+, Ruptured Sky, Distant Counter)
37+1 Merric (Dark Excalibur [unique], Draw Back, Ruptured Sky, Atk/Spd Bond 4, Hone Spd 4)

Marth has been a pain in the ass to level up since the game refuses to give me lance enemies.

I managed to get Blarblade+ on Caeda, while someone else (Merric) has Rally Atk/Spd+. The end.

...OK, fine. Here's what I have so far:

Lv. 34 Marth, +0: Slaying Axe+ (+Def), Pivot, Aether, Lull Spd/Def 3, Atk Smoke 3
Lv. 35 Caeda, +1: Blarblade+, Shove, Close Counter, Joint Hone Def

Lv. 34 Merric, +0: Excalibur (Unique), Rally Atk/Spd+, Aether, Spd/Def Bond 3, Atk/Def Bond 3

I've cleared up to Chamber 13.

Did more grinding today so only just at Chamber 15

Marth: Lv 36. Wo Gun (Def), Reposition, Atk/Spd Push 4, Escape Route, Odd Speed Wave, Heavy Blade

Caeda: Lv 37. Thoron, Rally Atk/Def+, Sturdy Impact, Spd/Res Ruse, Pulse Smoke 

Draug: Lv 36+1. Geishun (Atk), Pivot, Mirror Stance 2, Vengeful Fighter, Joint Hone Atk, Close Def

Merric: Lv 36. Rexalibur, Swap, Blazing Wind, Flashing Blade 4, Null Follow-Up, Atk Smoke

Not getting very good Skills. Marth keeps getting trolled by not having any offensive Specials popping up for him making Wo Gun largely useless as of now. Only further slapped in the face getting Heavy Blade as an option~ I'll literally take Iceberg at this point~

Wow. Today has been Draug's day. He's level 17 now (I've only done 3 fights today and 3 yesterday) and he has both Distant Counter and Safeguard+. I think I'll be using him as he's intended to be used: as a forward physical tank.

Merric (37): Excalibur (unique), Draw Back, Dragon Fang, Distant Def 4, Mystic Boost 3, Panic Smoke 3

Guess which one has been blowing up the most enemies?

Marth's job is to buff everyone, and position Draug.  Can't take a hit, but who cares if the enemies die outright.  Caeda gets weirdly tanky once she hits Brazen Spd/Def, Draug is good melee bait, and Merric is the offensive powerhouse.  I don't know how this happened.  Please make it stop.

I spent one of those torch things to really just grind them up but  draug isn't getting any great options at all. neither is Marth. 
Caeda has Spooky Censor, and Merric has Dark Excalibur but no good skills (oh well Hone atk 4 x2 on Marth/Draug and Caeda has ruptured sky)

I built up Caeda first, but she got a totally shit selection of skills that came up. I wish they expanded each skill category to include 3 or 4 skills to choose from. She is at merge +10 and she is still running Thoron cause nothing better showed up. She has Moonbow, Fury, and Res Tactic, and that is about it. Still Desperation and Reposition.

Only got through 2 Chambers today~ Didn't start Chamber 17 because I don't think we're ready yet for Lv40+ enemies~

Only levels today, nothing new in terms of Skills because they were just useless or I already had some that were better, so I went for merges instead~

Used up my last reserve torch today and made it through the last floor! Wasn't planning on challenging it yet, but I saw that it had pretty easy fight against Reinhardt/Clarine/Draug/Sheena. Clarine ended up a bit more troublesome than I expected but it all ended up manageable.

Sometimes, you have to build weird things to make it work.  Like Def-stacking on Caeda or something.

Damn, it's so hard to clear. I've lost so many times, against Idunn & co! Anyway, they're all struggling to have a good special,  and both Merric and Caeda have Close Counter. Thankfully there is a lot of days to clear it 😮

Forgot to post yesterday, but nothing changed much since Tuesday either way except everyone reaching Lv 40 and Merric getting Glimmer~ Today was the winner, though~

My team was relatively OP last time and I managed to clear the mode day 2. 

This time I am totally unlucky. So far I have seen only one reposition. The best I have is atk/spd bond 4. Somehow I managed chamber 19 today, lol.

And while I do appreciate the challenge, somehow I have developed a dislike towards my units. Thinking, oh no, not again... lol.

Well shit, this HoF actually sucks ass. I was right to stop depending on Draug for everything, but in return I got powercrept the fuck out. I'm starting to lose more than I win every day, and it's not because of a lack of effort. It's because my units literally suck ass against units that have their own refines and full builds. Not only that, but I haven't gotten one movement-based Assist skill at all...I've only been getting Rallies and Ardent Sacrifices.

I doubt I'll be able to get to the final map at this rate...at least I finally got them to Level 40 though.

...Pretty much nothing changed. Draug got Ignis (even though I wanted Noontime for sustain, but he's so bad that it wouldn't help regardless). Bridal!Marth ended up taking over the Offense position, despite how much I tried to not let it become that way. The occasional good skills he got were given too often compared to the others, and I really don't think that it was random on that part. I think they really drive home the whole "MC is most powerful, the others are just support" by giving Marth the best likelihood for good skills, while the others got jack shit in terms of synergistic skills. Fucking Draug had absolutely nothing in terms of inheritance until I finally gave up and gave him Ignis...and I don't think he'll ever live long enough to use it.

They give us shitty units with a biased RNG that forces you to replace skills over time because you get shitty choices, and they do this without giving you the ability to guarantee you'll even get your units to +10. In order for you to even have a chance at defeating the enemies they send at you, you have to make more and more sacrifices or you'll have to give them skills that don't work well on them at all...and on the very minuscule likelihood that you'll actually get a good roll, replacing that skill with the new one not only doesn't let you merge further that battle but also wastes the effort you put into getting the previous skill in the first place.

If they're going to keep giving us these bad units, I might just stop trying to take pride in building them up. Why should we take pride in building them up if you can't even take pride in using them?

I finally cleared the mode and it was quite painful compared to last time. 

My formas ended with these skills:

Marth: Brave Axe+/Reposition/Glimmer/Atk Spd Push 4/Threaten Atk Spd 4/Atk Smoke seal.

Caeda (MVP by far): (+Res)Vessel of Cheer+/Swap/Moonbow/Bonus Doubler 3/Joint Hone Atk/Brazen Atk/Def seal.

Draug (deadweight): (+Def) Barrier Blade/Moonbow/Special Spiral/Panic Ploy.

Merric: (+Eff) Excalibur/Rally Up Res+/Glimmer/Distant Def 4/Joint Hone Spd.

The main strat is self explanantory. Have Caeda and Merric glued together to let her enjoy huge buffs and with the Swift Sparrow weapon included she's the best offensive unit despite her lackluster base Atk. I only wish I could've gotten Desperation to make her even godlier but RNG is RNG. Merric is a ranged tank and can take care of pesky fliers, Marth does good dmg but he really needed Galeforce+Desperation+Heavy Blade to shine. Draug was kinda cool early on but he fell of a cliff pretty quickly and never recovered.

I'm pretty sure getting merge levels is more of a consolation prize than anything else. I don't think being able to reach +10 merge was ever a goal you were intended to aim for.

...this is not as high priority to fix as the others, but he lacks a certain oomf in Certain areas... could just be him tho

Groom Marth and Bride Caeda had a fitting skillset. Groom Marth had Faithful Axe (how fitting for a wedding) and Repo with Atk/Def Link and Spd Tactic, which really fits Caeda's Blarblade and Spd/Res link.

Although I just changed Marth's weapon to Wo Gun to use with Moonbow better.

Also Merric finally has Dark Excalibur...but no special yet. He does have Atk/Spd Push with Mystic Boost now. (It was Lull Atk/Spd before so he had like +10 hidden Spd)
