Gah! I don't know if I'm gonna get AoC. My parents aren't really interested in it, I don't really know what it's like to play a hack-and-slash Warriors game  and I don't really like playing Zelda by myself...

Not gonna lie, I hope that it's canon and they lose in the end. That'd be a gutsy move and I'd love it.

But anyway, I finished Super Metroid with a time of 5:49 and 55% of items collected. But most importantly, I saved the animals and learned the stunning truth that Samus... wears sunglasses under her helmet! Now I'm in the mood to replay Fusion, since it's the sequel to this game. It's been 18 years since Fusion, when are we getting its sequel?

Congrats! That's not too bad! You can always improve, sure, but that's still great!

Did you try the demo?

And agreed. Ninty needs to take some risks every now and then.

No other company has been so successful at being consistently mediocre, I swear...

No, my parents aren't really interested enough for us to try it. We're trying to finish BotW Master Mode before it releases, but I'm not convinced that we'll get it, seeing as when I told my dad that it was a hack-and-slash game, he said, "Oh, so it's not going to be very fun? That's too bad..."

But we'll see. Maybe we'll get around to trying the demo.

Can you not just download the demo and try it for yourself?

Yeah, but Zelda's just kind of a family thing for me, y'know? I can't really see myself playing one by myself. Every Zelda game I've done has been with my family or friends, (admittedly only, like, five games) with the exception of one Wind Waker postgame thing I did where I got 999 hits on the guy on Outset without getting hit once.

That is a lie that the United States keeps repeating due to their sink-or-swim mindset.

We're literally the only first world country to not have universal healthcare. A system our politicians are too cowardly to implement because "that's socialism" even though one of the greatest Presidents in American history, FDR, enacted a bunch of socialist policies to brings us out of the Depression.

Can we afford it?

....no this is actually a genuine question and not an argument, can we??

I mean, lives are more important than money. I don't see anything wrong with having people who are more affluent pay money so that other people can afford to not die of a flu or something. Plenty of successful countries have universal healthcare, and people aren't just dyin' in ditches everywhere. Healthcare being "better" for the people who can actually afford it causes problems, because usually the people who can afford healthcare easily are the ones who are less vulnerable-People who live in poorer conditions are much more susceptible from illnesses, and they simply can't afford to have it treated.

Really, it's just those who can afford to pay for healthcare already not wanting to pay so that everyone else can have basic human rights.

The lives of the average person would vastly improve. It would not make living conditions worse at all.

But can they afford that? Realistically?

This is still genuine wondering *sweats nervously*

Ah. Yeah we had a similar thing over here. You've probably already heard about it, the "Million MAGA March" where it was just a bunch of Covidiots who are completely convinced that Trump is the winner of the elections even though he isn't.

Tbf anyone going on a march like that is a Covidiot (assuming I’m using the term right, I’m just guessing at the meaning).

I get that you’re not suggesting otherwise, but afaik that’s not the only march going on right now so...

Yes, and fairly easily. America is one of the richest countries in the world with lots of the richest people in the world. it has the money to be very successful as a left-wing socialist country.

Might be a more comedic answer to the question, but i remember that video being pretty informative when it comes to US healthcare iirc.

If we can afford to give our police killdozers and just generally have the biggest military force in the world, we can afford to have universal healthcare.

It's simple actually. Tax the hell out of the rich. And if we look at history, FDR cut military budgets by 50% to pay for his welfare programs. We should do something like that again.

Read through some of the more recent pages of this thread.

https://www.resetera.com/threads/hyrule-warriors-age-of-calamity-spoiler-thread-datamine-seemingly-reveals-base-game-roster-up-copies-out-in-the-wild.314953/page-27

Interestingly enough, the writers of 3H actually worked on AoC's story. Huh. No wonder it was more creative than your typical snoozer Zelda story.

Easily, when he's mostly nothing but a motivation-less "big bad" archetype that serves no other purpose but being a contrived villain for nearly every Zelda game ever made.

Studies have been done. Like this one:

https://journals.plos.org/plosmedicine/article?id=10.1371/journal.pmed.1003013

And they mostly agree. It's doable and possible, and benefits overall specially long-term.

The problem is, as always, those few who hold the cards to make it possible who refuse because they'd be the ones to "lose" (and even then it'd be merely a drop in their buckets), and so constantly refuse to make it so.

Before you do that, you gotta find the right balance so that the rich just don't escape with all their money to another country with less Taxes. That's why countries need to have tax agreements.

Infact, i remember reading some stuff out there that America doesn't even need to raise taxes that much to be able to afford healthcare. If only i had them on hand atm and too lazy too search

but this..

The financial disparity is kind of a good example of some of the problems America has.

There are a lot of the profusely rich in America, basically. And they are becoming increasingly distant from the middle class in terms of amount of money. (The middle class is also getting poorer.)

Socialism is basically a democratic society where the end goal of the society is for the group, not the individual. Examples of this are higher taxes, meaning higher services, such as public transport, universal healthcare, etc. Characteristics of these kinds of countries are:

  • Lower poverty rates
  • Fewer of the very, very rich

Basically, a larger middle class with less financial disparity.
