I can't believe this.

You will not do that again.

Traingle Strategy being an Atelier spin off is canon tho

Is real life an Atelier spin off because there are barrels in it too?

Well, to this I say

Kaga Did It First. There's an atelier in Berwick, as we well know.

You are the worst of the worst.

Do that again, and there will be dire consequences.

Truth or lie... What difference does it make?

Kaga Did It First.

I told you there would be consequences.

The consequences are as follows:

Lea is bad

There you go. I said a statement that will totally upset you. You shouldn't have defied me.

I hate when you make puns. I always try to think of a counter pun, but every time it just makes my brain hurt and I end up frustratedly posting a punless response.

Urrgh.

I still don't like that sword spam move. Way too cheesy for my liking.

Oh hey, it's the guy who gives you all the legendaries in Sun God's Wrath.

You fool. You utter, complete, absolute failure of a man. I've said it so many times, I'm no fan of Reese. I am impervious to your attack! What are you going to do now?

On Metacritic (not that this matters, anyone who unironically takes Metacritic score seriously deserves no rights), it does have the lowest score out of all the Rune Factories, placing it in the mixed category with Tides of Destiny. There are quite a few 8s and 7s but then there's about as many 6s and 7s.

Reading up some reviews, any negatives are pretty much all technical (though one review i saw did put a positive spin on it, saying the way it used colors to make up for it was reminiscent of Wii-era games).

I'm very bummed to see RF5 do so badly in the critic reviews. -But then, I shouldn't be getting hung up on what other people think about a video game. I was expecting "more of the same" and "technical problems" 7/10 reviews, but 5s and 4.5? Ouuuuuuuuuuuch!

And, I don't like people saying "stick with RF4" or worse, the S Word. A genre needs more than one game, I don't want replay what I'm done with or what I simply don't want to play. Imagine if every time a new JRPG or platformer released to less-than-perfect reviews and someone said "Play Final Fantasy VII!" or "Play Super Mario Bros. 3!", nobody does that. It peeves me when this comes up in the farming sim genre. And in the case of myself, as the first and only rainbow RF so far has gotten stuck with the resurrection/growing pains, going back would feel a little stifling.

I'll be seeing for myself but it does seem like a "Sonic had a rough transition to 3D" situation....minus the glitches.

Sonic is a different story I'd say. High speed and the Z-axis in a 3D platformer seems to be that franchise's almost unsolvable problem. Nothing about RF, a life/farm/dating sim & action RPG franchise is so fundamentally irresolvable.

I think the better point of comparison, as I've seen a few say, is Pokemon. The gameplay isn't the problem, it's merely that the devs need lessons in HD 3D development, having primary made less demanding games. And not every company can be like Monolith and nail the HD transition on the first try, referring to XCX's development.

And then I saw this side-by-side.:

Frontier was kinda quaint for a Wii game I admit.

Thankfully, I don't really care about technical junk. People have consistently said SMTV was technically poor, and unless I haven't reached what they're talking about, I just don't see it.

Copium in me says they were waiting for it to be localized before fixing the framerate issues.

The new copium I've seen is "Marvelous/Xseed is good with PC porting, a PC version ought to fix the issues!".

Anyhow, do me a favor, you and Twili better have fun! I want joy to spite to the naysayers!

... i have to grow flowers now? whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Back in RF1 you have to sow like 100 tiles in every dungeon before the mayor would give you the pass to the next. Although I don't remember if you actually had to grow crops, or if hitting the soil with the hoe was enough. I do remember that RF2 and Frontier both demand you bring a bunch of crops in the dungeons to full maturity in a couple cases.
