Yeah, it's so that Renair/Kolb/Amelia/etc doesn't get too overleveled and utterly reduce everyone else to useless when they join.

Since level 10 at chapter 4 is... scary high.

Also Astel where have you beeeeen

A new patch! Excellent! Congrats on the release, guys.

I'm putting together a playlog like last time, which I'll post later. A heads-up about Chapter 3, though: a number of enemies are not awarding experience when they die. :(

YOU'RE ALIVE?

Also, sounds like fun!

Enemy soldier is on the same spot as an enemy knight for chapter 5.

Also, I think Kolbane and Furetchen's C support is missing an [A] tag, but I'm not sure since that may have been intentional.

And fuck you guys for having enemies that don't give out EXP on that chapter.

Character balance/level balance is a very tough thing to do...

Ah, thanks for the heads up on that.

I'll look into that.

Oooh, I see. I thought something broke. Good to know it's deliberate. smile.gif Amelia was level 11 by the end of that, so I see your point.

Also, I died, and had to challenge Death to wifi matches to win back my life. Satan showed up too, some souls were wagered, and I'm pretty sure some bits of my sanity are missing here and there. But you know how it goes.

[spoiler=Stats and turns up to route split]Prologue: Kolbane and Renair teamed up on the starting bandit and Furet lured the bandit, letting Renair finish it next turn. Spent a few turns at the chokepoint, then sent Renair and Kolbane to the villages as Furet killed Distan. I think I spent about 6 turns here? Would need to check (recorded everything). You could probably go faster if you didn’t care about the villages.

6-7(?) turns

NAME LEVEL HP PW SK SP LK DE RE NOTES
Renair 3.39 21 7 11 11 5 5 3
Furet 1.75 36 16 10 10 6 10 4
Kolbane 3.11 24 9 11 9 4 7 3

Chapter 1: Furet lured the archer and fighter off to the right, killing them with at range on the counter, while Renair lured an enemy in, critkilling him (not needed, Amelia could have finished him). I moved forward a bit slowly since good offense is hard to come by, but I still did this in a reasonable amount of time. I think a 6 turn here is possible, maybe even 5.

Also Hausen is still the villain

7 turns

NAME LEVEL HP PW SK SP LK DE RE NOTES
Renair 5.12 23 7 13 12 6 5 4
Furet 2.02 36 16 11 11 6 11 4
Kolbane 3.88 24 9 11 9 4 7 3
Ilanice 3.74 20 7 8 11 8 4 5
Amelia 3.75 21 8 6 7 3 5 8

And I just noticed Amelia is more durable than Ilanice... Then again, Pegasus knights are op.

Chapter 2: I ran Renair and Ilanice over to get Chester and the Wing Spear, then flew Renair over to the boss with Chester to distract (read: kill) the bandits as the rest of the group went up to get the Chest Key and some EXP. 6 turns is likely possible, maybe even 5.

7 turns

NAME LEVEL HP PW SK SP LK DE RE NOTES
Renair 5.95 23 7 13 12 6 5 4
Furet 2.24 36 16 11 11 6 11 4
Kolbane 5.20 26 10 11 10 6 9 3
Ilanice 3.85 20 7 8 11 8 4 5
Amelia 4.20 22 8 7 8 4 5 8
Chester 4.03 22 7 9 13 10 5 2

Chapter 3: According to the rank screen I have all 5 stars at this point.

In other news, FUCK THIS CHAPTER

I had Chester, Ilanice, and Furet go get the lower right chest, then ran them back to force through the left hallway to get all the items plus Crowe.

25 turns

NAME LEVEL HP PW SK SP LK DE RE NOTES
Renair 6.70 24 7 14 13 7 5 4
Furet 4.02 36 17 11 12 7 12 5 C Kolbane
Kolbane 6.95 26 10 11 11 6 10 3 C Furet
Ilanice 4.79 21 8 8 11 8 4 6
Amelia 6.51 22 9 8 9 5 5 9
Chester 5.09 22 7 10 13 10 6 2
Crowe 6.40 24 11 9 11 2 6 1

Chapter 4: I... lost a point in combat =(

I had Ilanice rescuedrop Furet to quickly recruit the Lumother, entered combat with the boss the turn after the next, and finished him on the following (with Ilanice)

6 turns

NAME LEVEL HP PW SK SP LK DE RE NOTES
Renair 7.43 24 7 15 13 8 5 4 C Kolbane
Furet 4.75 36 17 11 12 7 12 5 C Kolbane, C Renair
Kolbane 8.28 28 11 11 11 6 12 3 C Furet
Ilanice 4.79 21 9 9 11 8 4 7
Amelia 7.03 22 9 8 9 6 5 9
Crowe 6.81 24 11 9 11 2 6 1
Chester 5.09 22 7 10 13 10 6 2
Lia 4.22 19 7 6 8 7 3 8
Lumi 6.52 24 9 11 13 4 7 3

Chapter 5: I went down to the beach as Ilanice nabbed the Armorslayer, then ran over to get the Torch and Gabriel before making a beeline for the boss, shopping on the last turn

10 turns

NAME LEVEL HP PW SK SP LK DE RE NOTES
Renair 7.87 24 7 15 13 8 5 4 C Kolbane
Furet 4.97 36 17 11 12 7 12 5 C Kolbane, C Renair
Kolbane 9.39 29 11 11 12 6 13 3 C Furet
Ilanice 7.20 22 11 11 13 8 4 7
Amelia 7.55 22 9 8 9 6 5 9
Crowe 7.77 25 12 10 12 3 7 1
Chester 5.84 22 7 10 13 10 6 2
Lia 5.95 19 8 6 8 8 3 9
Lumi 7.29 25 9 11 14 4 7 3
Gabriel 6.61 24 11 7 8 8 5 9

Chapter 6: Poison Sword Myrm poisoned like half my team, but it was alright. Juan and Ilanice did some flight haxing, and I definitely think this could have gone faster if I had had Ilanice fly Furet down to the boss to begin combat with him sooner.

14 turns

I also recorded every attempt I made @_@

If you try and look at the stat screen for the unit I have highlighted in this image, the game crashes.

idkwtfjusthappened2.png

I think it also caused me to get this error when I restarted the chapter (which also crashes the game)?

tknowhowigotthiserror.pngtknowhowigotthiserror2.png

Unless I skip the scene by pressing the start button, I always get an error like this. It worked the first time I went through that scene though...

I did also save on the preparation screen once before finding out about the first glitch I mentioned and then restarting the chapter.

Also, Iliance (the Pegasus knight girl) died if that matters at all.

This is all on chapter 10A.

Apparently, the game crashes when that unit wants to move too I think. It's probably a problem with the map sprite in that case.

Meh, it happened in FE5 too. It's just a new challenge requiring inventive thinking while simultaneously removing statistical certainties.

Alright, Just checked, all of those errors happened to me, for the Female Halb, it probably is a map sprite error, and the 2nd error is from events

It'll take me a while to get this fixed, sorry all.

Edit: Map sprite fixed, Events will be fixed as quickly as I can.

Sooooo, this new patch was incredibly good. Was really anticipating it after FEE3, and it definitely didn't disappoint. A couple comments, in case you guys are looking for feedback. Spoiler tags just cuz I think I'll probably have a spoiler or two.

Gabriel felt pretty weak compared to Amelia. Obviously PEMN, but I did both routes, and either way, he ended up with less def/speed/mag than her, and the magic especially felt odd with him being a shaman. His HP and skill (also odd to me, but meh) and luck were all on pars with her, but nothing was ever better than her's except res at an equal or comparable level. This kinda made him feel useless, tbh. This has nothing to do with me being biased towards dark magic users. Nothing.

The big difficulty I had with chapter 3 was the ridiculous amount of potions I felt I needed to have. I saw some stuff on FEE3 about how hard it was, so I stocked up the chapter before, but it felt really odd chugging a potion just about every turn for a while. Not sure how you'd remedy this though, so.

The difficulty was really good, but I felt it kinda went back and forth. Chapter 7B for example (I think anyways. The first one in Ondurin, with the mercenary boss) felt like a breeze, while a couple others felt like they were just right with difficulty. It's possible I'm overanalyzing or got lucky, but that chapter in particular was really easy for me. Chapter 4, 6, and 8A also felt pretty easy, but not as much as 7B.

I loved the way the plot kicked up after the route switches, but I felt a couple of the early joining characters didn't seem to have a great reason to be coming along. Ilanice, Amelia, Gabriel, and Lia all confused me as to why they continued to stay with the group. Maybe it's revealed in supports, or it flew over my head (wouldn't be the first time) but they all just seemed to tag along. I understood why they joined for the chapter they joined, and was usually pretty confused afterwards.

Lumi/Kolbaine kills all bosses forever.

All said, difficulty=great, characters=interesting, and all with their own flaws, and the plot is really pulling me in. Awesome patch is awesome.

In the middle of a brewing civil war, where better to be than in the middle of a group of armed, neutral soldiers? By the time they're inside it's too late to run.

As for Gabriel, he's got even less shelter than the rest. Unless he finds the warm embrace of the gallows comforting in some way he's got more than enough reason to stay with all the armed, rising-to-influential people.

This definitely went over my head, but makes perfect sense. I is smart, promise.

Musain done

Chapter 6x (Musain): Astra spent the whole map opening chests, as Enjolras, friends, and Renair ran towards the boss, killing him. Fewer turns is likely possible.

13 turns

NAME LEVEL HP PW SK SP LK DE RE NOTES
Renair 10.00 27 9 16 14 10 7 4 C Kolbane
Astra 10.77 32 13 9 9 6 14 3

Chapter 7a: This chapter was going well (enemies ate Crowe) until I reached the 56 avoid boss that 2HKO’d my party, and spent something like 13 turns waiting for Astra to hit him with effective weapons @_@

26 turns...

Chapter 8a: The opening part of this chapter is really, really dumb, since Seren gets wrecked by everything, Juan likely isn’t living through archers+magic users, and neither is Renair (plus lance users). Still, I got a bit lucky...

Chapter 10A: I benched Amelia because she’s sucking and Seren because she sucks. I ran Ilanice, Juan, Lia, Renair, and Astra up the left to get Enjo and kill the boss, and everyone else up the right to get the treasure. Maythunder doesn't say it has 3 range (it just says --).

Ugh, I'm really sorry guys, apparently Chapters 8B, 9B, and 10B (Onduris route chapters) In the latest fix were screwed up. (They had a black screen as soon as you started the chapter, which didn't let you do anything)

And for some reason re applying the events fixed this

Hopefully this next patch I have is glitch free. >_>
