Silvercrow
Rules (adapted from Integrity's) - Ratings are for Normal Mode. - Votes need some explanation regarding their gameplay performance to be counted. If somebody else said what you want to already, quote them explicitly. +/- ≤1 point extra regarding personality/appearance is encouraged, but no more. If you exercise your bias privileges, please do so explicitly. - Votes are made out of 10. You cannot rate a unit above 10 or below 0. - The rating topic will be updated whenever I feel like it, but I will try to allow at least 24 hours for each topic. They will generally be updated at around noon EST. - A character being inferior relative to another character does not explicitly reduce their rating. - Characters do not get credit for recruiting others or allowing access to side quests. - Assume that the character in question is being recruited. - Characters do not get credit for bringing items. - I reserve the right to ignore any votes which are not well-supported. - You may allow a character to use scrolls (and adjust their rating appropriately) so long as it is reasonable (you may debate what constitutes "reasonable" if you feel people may disagree with you). You cannot arbitrarily increase a unit's score by arguing that they may exclusively use half a dozen scrolls for themself. In general, scrolls will probably not add more than +1 to a character's overall rating. - Warp skipping has an impact on scores in so far as "Safy has an high base staff rank". Nanna would score lower than Safy because of her lower rank, but no chapter is explicitly said to be skipped. You can't get Warp and then suddenly say every character after doesn't exist or requires turns to recruit. Something could be said of Xavier, or Conomore/Amalda who are in an escape chapter where Leaf starts next to the escape point. For one, he has Elite, which makes training him not impossible as even simply chipping will afford him quite a bit of EXP. His growth rates are mostly pretty solid, and a PCC of 5 is really nice. He can use Lightning tomes, which is sort of nice as they're probably overall a little better than Wind, but they're in short supply until chapter 22. Sage promotion bonuses are also meaty. He's not exceptional, but if given a bit of investment he can be used adequately. 6.5/
bottlegnomes
Essentially 2.5 levels away from a promotion that nets him +6 magic and skill, +4 speed and defense, D staves, and access to resire and wind tomes. Also has a move star and a PCC of 5. He's also actually fairly durable for a magic user thanks to sages' absurd promotion bonuses and having a decent HP growth. He's actually better than Asvel in every way except availability and graphcalibur, which are huge advantages in Asvel's favor. A solid unit worth using just because of how easy he is to train and access to sages after minimal training. 7/10+bias 8/10 Edited June 26, 2012 by bottlegnomes
Icon of Sin
Homeros is quite good. His base stats aren't too impressive, but he has fairly good growths, Elite to make them happen more often and he has some of the best promotion bonuses out there. An average 10/1 Homer without scrolls already sports 13 Magic, 12 Skill and 17 Speed backed up by 7 Movement. His durability isn't too great, but lo and behold : a B rank in Light, enough to use the Resire tome. If you decide to promote him later, he'll get a bigger durability boost which means he won't need Resire that badly. And I'm not even touching his 5 PCC yet! While his Skill base is fairly low, Thunder and Lightning both offer a fairly massive critical boost and he also benefits from a support with Nanna. Like he even needed it, he gets Continue upon promotion too. In terms of weapon ranks, he has little options before promotion, but a Knight Crest gives him instant Resire as mentionned above, plus D Staves and Wind tomes. Because he grows so fast, he gets a lot more benefit from scrolls than the recent prepromoted recruits. At this point, Sety shouldn't be in huge damand, which is perfect for Homeros. You may also want to trade him Heim, and like most he always appreciates the durability boost that Hezul and Dain offer. He requires a bit of effort to get his first levels, but past that he's an excellent unit, even when promoted early. Either make him a tank with Resire or a generic speedy magician, he shouldn't disappoint. 7.5/
PuffPuff
Now I love this guy. Seriously. His good PCC/Elite makes him recommendable to use in every run. Plus Elite granting him access to greater stats in a shorter amount of time. He can absolutely break Chapters 23/24X with Rizaia. Even though Rizaia is heavy, he should be able to double with it on everyone except maybe Mercs. Because of Elite, he should promote at 20 to make it so that he won't need scrolls that should be given to other characters. 7.7/
MacLovin
One of the ways to be an "Est" and get away with it. -1-2 range. -Being able to kill things w/o getting assraped. -fe5 sage promo bonuses. -Elite. 8/
