  1. I like the addition of Gardevoir and Lip. Not so much the addition of Tingle or the lack of Wolf and Dixie Kong (and 4 reps for DK is definitely not too much). Not really sure about the likes of Eevee over Charizard or Mewtwo. Also not feeling three FE mono-sword users.
  2. All these examples being listed are more likely coincidence rather than influence, if some are even things that are new to If at all. Awakening had some of those. Demoiselle, Avoid +10, Outdoor/Indoor Fighter, etc. Having two skills per class probably just required them to make some filler. This is definitely not unique to VC.
  3. While it might have been the result of something very wrong, the truth is that my family in Nohr are the ones who know me and raised me. Regardless of anything else, they are my family and they are the ones I fight for.
  4. The obligatory. That thing hasn't been edited in years and I doubt even I agree with half of it anymore. This is news to me. I only mentioned Sumia in the other topic because I find most people see her as better than Cordelia. I don't think there's anyone I find particularly underrated, except maybe Lyn.
  5. It's been some ten years now, but I was in Europe during their hottest Summer in history (at the time) and my family was hit by the cold reality that many places don't carry much, if any, ice. But back to Smash, and I have a hypothetical I want people's thoughts on. We all know about the files for Roy and Ryu found in the game's data, correct? Imagine this: a year has passed and it is now almost June 2016. We have received multiple Smash characters, as well as some other stuff, as DLC, with more planned for future release, but none of any of that is Roy or Ryu (meaning not released or announced for release), despite the files still being in the game's code. What is your reaction?
  6. Javelins and Hand Axes really needed the nerf. It's a good change for sure. No more Jagens grabbing a Hand Axe/Javelin and soloing the game.
  7. Yeah, I could respond point-by-point, but I've said what matters most: Sumia relies on very specific strategies to maybe be better (I still think Cordelia is better as soon as she gets an A support regardless of whatever Sumia gets, and steamrolls her for the rest of the game). Cordelia is way more flexible and not so susceptible to RNG screwage. One situation (one that arguably isn't even the most optimal) isn't enough to make Sumia a superior unit overall.
  8. Um, no. That is literally impossible without grinding. Sumia has 5 maps before Cordelia shows up. At absolute best, she can have just gotten an A support. He doesn't give Str or Def, so...no, he doesn't? Dual Strike+ is good, but I don't really see why it's being hyped up so much. Cordelia is still going to have a high dual strike rate with her husband, and since she actually has Str of her own, she probably only needs one dual strike from her partner, if even that, to kill most enemies, while Sumia will need it twice more often, giving her lower kill rates overall. And then the underlying problem I have with your post here is how specific it is, because it sounds like Sumia needs Chrom to function. What if she doesn't get Chrom? Chrom certainly has better options than her (F!Robin and Sully). I personally think Frederick is a better option for her anyway, but Cordelia has every other male option in the game to cover whatever you think she needs. If you wish it, she also has actually good reclass options. Maybe, just maybe, in very specific, bottle-necked runs, Sumia can eek out a win. But Cordelia is so much more flexible and dependable that she should be better for 95% of players.
  9. When I saw the title I thought, "Wait wtf, I know Alpharad just uploaded Ike like yesterday." But that was glorious.
  10. Availability is nice, but Cordelia is still around for a good 76% of the game and statistically smashes Sumia. And Cordelia's extra load of support options more than beats out a potential Chrom support (which doesn't even give what Sumia needs). Basically, Sumia has her few extra chapters, and may be a bit better than Cordelia when she arrives, but Cordelia will pass her up quickly and just expand the lead to the end. I agree for sure that Cynthia > Severa.
  11. Real talk: I said it before sort of as a joke, but if I were to call any character in FE overrated, it would be Sumia, mainly because people say she's better than Cordelia and I don't see how that's possible. Depends how one plays. Calill has the best long-term potential of the magic users in RD, but by the very fact that she's a magic user in RD, that isn't saying a whole lot. I would definitely rank her higher than Sanaki in non-Hard mode, though. I think unit slots are numerous enough such that they are not that valuable in RD, especially by the time Sanaki shows up.
  12. Has anyone considered the possibility that Strategist isn't a male Valkyrie, but is the new Valkyrie class made to not be gender-exclusive? As in, Valkyrie may not exist anymore. And Tsubaki is a dude. People are actually still considering him being a woman?
  13. "I don't use the mechanic that every character has easy access to and makes them all a lot better, and my results say..." Do you see the problem here? This is a worthless distinction in this situation. Pair Up just adds to the dual system. The statement "Every Pair Up gives +Hit" is absolutely true. Congrats to you for not falling into the stereotype, but that doesn't mean anything about everyone else that people have actually been accusing of such.
  14. Pair Up, Anathema, and Hex negate any accuracy or crit issues Tharja may have. If you actually think Tharja has trouble hitting with non-Ruin tomes while paired, I'm going to think you don't ever use her. Tharja wins Speed by a good amount and they essentially tie Magic, she has multiple chapters before Henry exists to get a good lead on him stat-wise, and Nosferatu negates any defensive advantage Henry might have had. Henry's only real advantage is basically his Skill, but since Vengeance is Skl x2 even that isn't a very notable difference. If the dude could double, he might have a chance of being as good, but he has no significant advantages. A few, but I'm definitely seeing more of "character I don't like" in here.
  15. I don't remember people taking this topic so seriously the last time it popped up. SF, I am disappoint. Well, I guess if I were to just give a straight answer to the topic, I would say: none. No one is overrated. Units I like are not overrated and units I dislike are not overrated. Except for Sumia. She's overrated. The only Jagen is Jagen. Well, a few, but I definitely wouldn't cite FE6 first as a Fire Emblem with great prepromotes. Pretty much every game since then has had better ones. Yeah, I'm pretty sure the hype around Tharja isn't so much for her ability but, uh, she's definitely better than Henry in that regard.
  16. If you're bumping/double-posting multiple hours later with a load of new fanart, you can have my word that I won't be stopping you. And yeah, you post a lot of good stuff. My folder is ever-increasing. Thank you.
  17. Every character that I dislike is overrated. It doesn't matter if these characters are liked by many or not for whatever reasons, they're overrated because I dislike them. No one can tell me otherwise, because this is just my opinion, but you can be sure that if anyone tries to tell me these characters are good or cool I'll be there to tell that person how horribly overrated that character is, because calling a character overrated is the ultimate objection. tl;dr Overrated is a terrible word that has lost all meaning and for the love of God do we really need one of these topics every other month?
  18. Hm, am I remembering wrong, or wasn't it said somewhere that male avatars got something else (like facial hair options or something) that female avatars didn't while the latter got these accessories? Not that that justifies it. Why must any of these options be restricted by gender?
  19. Don't make posts like these. If you don't like it, ignore it. If you think it should be gone, report it. Locked on request.
  20. >Eclipse posts telling people off. >People respond with spam. Next time, don't.
  21. F will be my first and my standard for most subsequent playthroughs. I'll probably play the game enough that I'll inevitably do both, though.
