  1. So is anyone writing for this or has it fallen off everybody's list of priorities?
  2. I never really set out to be a sprite artist and heavens knows I'm not. Like at all. But out of necessity I've had to make a few sprites over the years to complete my custom class tree and by now I've ended up with a repertoire of sprites I'm somewhat proud of (others...not so much). Anyway I thought I'd show them off as an independant work so people can say what they like or don't like about it. [spoiler=Probably the first image related to this project that I've ever been able to embed]
  3. Remake Gaiden. Not necessarily what they should do but it's what I want them to do. Failing that I would definitely support a game where the children are implemented naturally. That is to say a decade and a half time skip part way through the game. It doesn't even have to be a kill em all like Holy War. Just age up the portraits a bit. It's be great to see each character with two personalities, a younger and more mature form. Someone would be completely different, some would be almost the same while most would be a balanced mix.
  4. I guess the moral is that incest isn't bad but cultivating the blood of satan is? Also re Erika and Ephraim, their legendary weapons are named after incestous twins in norse mythology. Just sayin.
  5. Naga's gender is not set and he/she can take any form they want. I believe mainly because the benevolent goddess archetype is quite generic when it comes to video games.
  6. Just as emmet finished his healing an explosion appeared not too far away. Did the lady Claire do that? He wondered. He glanced to his right. No she wasn't close enough. It didn't really matter much, as impressive as it was, there were still enemies left standing. Emmet to (23,14), attack Pirate#2 with Pinaka
  7. Most of the mothers in Holy War were probably pregnant after the entire army became fugitives and were just defending themselves instead of choosing to go questing somewhere. It also gets a bit more leeway with a few pretty major time skips. Course the other games might have time skips just as long that aren't mentioned.
  8. That's all off screen stuff mostly regulated to developers notes so it's kind of hard to count it. Re pregnant fighters, I'd just like to remind everyone that Ena was pregnant for 3~20 years and fights in Radiant Dawn carrying possibly one of the rarest creatures in the world. And she's a forced unit so the player can't even get out of endangering that baby. Course who the hell knows how risky dragon trimesters are.
  9. My first thought was of Ethlyn but within seconds I remembered she basically got her husband and herself killed and her daughter raised by a super villain due to her own absolute carelessness. So my second thought was that Canas seemed to have turned out alright so I'd say Niime did a pretty good job of raising him.
  10. Which really, really suits Thracia's style since there are a lot of units and almost every single one of them is viable in some way. And even among those units there are differnt ways of levelling them thanks to the way Scrolls affect growths.
  11. Manaketes be awesome all round yo. Also I feel Crossbows are sufficently different enough to get a mntion on the poll.
  12. Surprised at the positive attention Eliwood is getting. I always thought people looked down on him as a unit since Hector and Lyn exist.
  13. When it comes to combat we've had a pretty rich diversity with how useful lords are (the weapons they use not quite as much but that's a different topic). What's your preferred type of lord when it comes to combat? And what kind of lords would you like to see in the future that they haven't tried yet.
  14. I found the way Naga was described in Genaology of the Holy War as "taking the form of a young maiden" (or something to that effect) as indicative that it was noteworthy (beyond the fact that's it's a bloody dragon). I reckon there's enough ambiguity at least that I can make an assumption. Mainly because I find the all benevolent goddess archetype pretty over used in video games. COming to think of it I should probably add that to the head canon thread active at the moment.
  15. Well he might have been confirmed as racist, I just personally can't recall any instances of it. It's not a core aspect of his character at least. Most of his dialogue revolved around how much he cared for his underlings from my recollection.
  16. Well if we can forgive Jill for her sheltered up bringing in regards to the Laguz why would we condemn Shiharm? I doubt he had the same exposure to laguz as Jill managed to get. Sure he might have had a little more exposure to the world having lived in two countries but I doubt Begnion is much better when it comes to racism than Daein (especially before Sanaki started trying to reform things). They are the people that committed the Serenes Massacre after all. Sure he might have been a better person if he could look past his society's social conditioning but I can't really say it makes him a bad father for not doing so. There's also the very real possibility (unless I'm forgetting optional conversations that say otherwise) he felt absolutely ambivalent towards the laguz and didn't care about them one way or the other, leaving Jill's racism to come from many of the other facets of society that influence people. Also I don't think anyone's mentioned it so far so I'm going to bring up Naga and give him the reward for most neutral parent in the series (assuming He is a He sometimes which I personally like to assume). He clearly loved Tiki but still denied her a childhood, though for a pretty valid concern. On the same note Bantu seems to be a pretty great surrogate. I think some flavor text in FE3 or 12 suggests Tiki would grow to resent Naga for his actions, that would have been a nice thing to see in Awakening had Awaekning actually utlizied Tiki as a character in any meaningful way.
  17. One of the horsemen suffered a hit and retreated to Emmet's side. Without wasting time he healed his ally. Emmet to (27,14) use heal on Nelon
  18. Captain Falcon exists in the Awakening universe...for some reason.
  19. Sounds pretty epic but you're instructions are somewhat hard to grasp. Is it four separate drinks? Are those beer cans empty to start? Or do you basically mix everything listed and get a tankard of the stuff?
  20. Oh! Another headcanon of mine, I completely support the characterisation of Marth's father Cornelius in the OVA and I can't recall anything in the games that directly contradicts it. Making him an abusive man that Marth didn't particularly like makes his death much more complex than the typical "My father was a good man and you killed him. Revenge!" (not that the latter is particularly bad as Greil and Byron showed, just a lot more played out).
  21. It's a precarious balance between having too few and too many cameos. It's where the visual medium can shine a lot easier than the written one.
  22. Emmet was sitting in the crows nest examining the string on Pinaka when the first ballista bolt hit. He leapt to his feet and searched for the attack. His instincts made him look out to sea meaning despite the advantage of a better viewing point, he didn't actually notice the attacks were coming from shor until several more ballista had struck. With great care he climbed down from the crow's nest. By now everyone else had noticed the attack and were getting ready for battle. He made his way to the convoy seeing if there were any spare bows he could use. Pinaka was quite precious to him and he lacked the resources to repair it should something happen. Sure enough a spare Iron Bow was there. He also noticed a powerful Libro staff and decided to take it. Better it sees use than lying here. He rushed on to the beach, splitting up from Serge but staying with some of the other mercenaries. Lady Claire was also nearby too. That reassured him somewhat. He was reasonably certain that despite her bravado, she would be willing to use the elixer if his life was threatened. Emmet takes the Libro and Iron Bow from the convoy, deploys and moves to 25,15
