  1. Yen'fay was working for Wallhart in order to protect Say'ri. I considered dismissing this possibility because that twist wouldn't make any sense but I quickly realized that this objection didn't hold much water because Awakening never cared about making sense before.
  2. Btw, since it's easily missable I would like to confirm that there is at least one gas tank in this stage for Carol. So Carol's bike is indeed usable in this demo. Also, Carol can now pocket her bike. Using the disk command while on the bike will make her throw the bike instead, and it will be in her "inventory" from there on out. There will be a wheel symbol next to her lifebar to show that she still has it. In order to use the bike again, throw the disk and then chase after it by using the "block" button. It took me a bit to figure that one out.
  3. Well, the demo is finally out now. At least for Windows. The Linux and Mac versions are delayed since they still have issues. http://freedomplanet2.com/demo_win.php Edit: And I think it's worth mentioning that the demo will be updated over the course of this month:
  4. It affects all allied units within a range of 3 tiles, same as with Leadership. The bonus is +10 to hit and avoid. Also the effects of several Charisma users can stack.
  5. So the demo is announced for tomorrow the 31th. I was hoping it wouldn't be the very end of the month but it's nice to know that the demo will indeed be available very soon. No words on the distribution method, though.
  6. I think it's worth nothing that while characters with 31+ resistance are hard to hit with status staffs, they do face a 100% chance of being affected by status swords. So if she were to get a Resistance Ring on top of a capped Resistance stat, she could be easily disabled with the Sleep Sword. Of course that would be an exploit, and Resistance Rings are at their most valuable after Julia leaves, due to all the enemy mages.
  7. Sucks to be y... ehm, I mean congratulations and best of luck.
  8. So I am just seeing now that Radiant Head made a new post in this thread but it's not visible, as it has been happened quite a few times this last week. The current page contains 25 posts, which is the max. amount of posts on a page with the new software, so it's probably an issue with the first post on a new page not showing up. So I am making this post in the hopes that this fixes this new page. I hope this isn't much of an issue. Edit: Okay that didn't work. Anyway, my intent wasn't to "bitch" about the issue but to try out if simply making another post could serve as a temporary solution until the issue can be investigated. And unfortunately it does not work, at least not with just one post.
  9. It is most certainly depressing that so many people were apparently voting for him despite being against the things that Trump openly and vehemently said he would do. Not just because Trump is in the White House now but also because of what this says about the effectiveness of substantial political discourses in general.
  10. And Fire Emblem Thracia 776 came out 3 years after the N64, with an actual cartridge release not being a thing until January 2000. That one was pretty epic, especially considering how late Holy War came out.
  11. Well, the thing with the DS replacing the GB brand, was that the DS proved to be extremely successful. If this event is supposed to repeat with the Switch, it needs to do a lot better then the Wii U did.
  12. Okay, I didn't see that one coming. I considered the possibility that the multicolored lines at the end of the trailers might represent the different playable characters but I couldn't line them up properly with the existing characters, so I dismissed the idea of a fourth character. Maybe the red line is actually supposed to represent Carol (her bandana) and the green line is Mila (the Murder Cubes) instead of green being Carol. Hopefully it won't take long until the demo is released. Today the demo is supposed to premier on PAX and the final character got revealed, so I suppose starting with today it could come out at any time.
  13. I've been confused about this one too. By now I'm sure it's not on the OST. Even in the game itself, it's placed at the very end of the Sound Test (the 89th track. The Sound Test doesn't give names, it just uses numbers.).
  14. I think it's worth nothing that the first GBA game is easily the hardest entry of the franchise released in the west. (Although it does have a very elaborate tutorial.) The campaign consists of mostly predeployment maps with very little room for error. The second game "Black Hole Rising" is fine though. Also the first game does the same stupid player tactican thing that Blazing Sword did. Thank god that got retconned in the second game.
  15. Well, the farmer in question is currently not actually in the Lon-Lon farm. He is napping at the castle and lying in the path of some boxes that you need to push in order to get into the courtyard. You will inevitably find him on your way to Zelda, so sorry for bringing him up, I didn't intend to confuse you, I was merely joking about how silly this whole infiltration mission sounds, as well as giving you a hint about an item you will need to get past that point, just in case you didn't get it already. I suppose I could try to explain the whole process in case you are interested: First you need the egg. You get the egg from the farmer's daughter Malon. Malon is initially at the market and you need to talk to her at least once. Afterwards leave the town towards Hyrule Castle, go right back into the town and then leave towards the Castle again and you should see Malon in front of you, right next to the vines that you need to climb to get over the first gate. I believe you need to talk to her multiple times before she will give you the egg. Once you have the egg, simply wait until the next morning for it to hatch. As for getting into the castle, climb up the vines I mentioned to get past the first gate. Afterwards you need to sneak past some guards. The second barrier is a fence surrounding the castle. It's impossible to get through the main entrance but you can climb up the hill that's left of the staircase that leads to the fence. From there you can jump past the fence and into the Castle's moat. Swim through the moat until the end. Get out of the moat and you will find a bunch of boxes as well as Malon's father napping. There is a hole in the castle wall which leads into the courtyard but you need to push those boxes around to reach it. Once you are inside the courtyard, you will have to do some more sneaking. Fortunately if you get caught, they will only drop you right outside the courtyard next to the boxes, so you can try again immediately. Also, you need to enter the courtyard during the day. If you enter it at night, you will see some guards that you can't get past, period. I suppose they are there to ensure that the cutscene with Zelda takes place during the day. I hope my english skills were sufficient to explain this.
  16. I can at least tell you that you are on the wrong track with the bombs, you don't need bombs to get into the castle. In fact, it's impossible to even get bombs before visiting Zelda for the first time. Though, you do need to hatch an egg to wake up an obese farmer. ....yeah, I totally agree that Ocarina can be rather unintuitive. I can easily imagine people getting stuck trying to find the Kokiri Sword or trying to get through the web on the floor in the first room of the Deku Tree, and whatnot.
  17. I suppose it's not exactly like in the GBA games. Like, you could equip her with a sword to boast her melee attacks but it wouldn't affect her magic.
  18. Well, male Corrin was already my least favorite Fire Emblem character ever since his Soleil support where in an truly epic case of bullshittery he claims that "he can't thoughtlessly touch a woman's body before marriage", while also hypocritically shaming Soleil for seeking out physical intimacy while pretending to be concerned about her. It's amazing how much awfulness Corrin managed to put into just two lines. As the full game showed, this kind of behavior is a pattern with this guy. He tells a Hoshidian assassin that "You intent to buy peace with death? That's madness!" and then proceeds to buy peace with the death of countless Hoshidians in the very same chapter, with no self-awareness whatsoever. Corrin is a master of self-pontification but otherwise he is nothing more then a self-centric hypocrite. One shouldn't mistake superficial niceness for genuine kindness. Of course what makes Corrin truly awful is that nothing of it is intentional. The game is very consistent in treating him like he is basically Ultra Super Jesus MK II, which starts out being cringy and just becomes more uncomfortable and infuriating as the game goes on.
  19. Although it should be noted that Shadow Dragon also used tracks from Book 1 of Mystery of the Emblem. For example SD's "For Tomorrow's Sake" is "War of Darkness" from Mystery. Still, I'd say there is no lack of original music in that game.
  20. "Never" might also be helpful. In my case I simply waited until it was over and read up about things on Serenes afterwards.
  21. I think that Lyn's defining attribute is her romantic, idealistic view of family bonds. This is something that is fairly consistent with her. When she first learns about her heritage, she completely ignores the part of the story where her Grandfather renounced her mother. Or any other parts of the story which would reflect bad on her Grandfather that she learned later for that matter. She just wants to see him because he is the only family she has left, despite everything she hears pointing towards the Marquies being a massive asshole who would look down on her for being a nomad. Sure, these days he is regretting his past actions but Lyn didn't know that. Her attempts to become more of a noble women are also motivated by wanting to fulfill her grandfathers expectations, to the point where her pride as a Sacean starts to erode and she sounds actually ashamed of her nomad heritage. Lyn: Yes, but I have so far to go! I’m not like a lady at all. My grandfather took me in, a mixed-blood child, but I fear the other nobles of Lycia will not be so accepting. I do not want the Sacae blood in my veins to bring my grandfather shame. There are also some smaller events, like when she feels the need to bump into Will's family business and actually orders him to write a letter, despite knowing nothing about his relationship with his parents. And I also found rather interesting how she commented on the relationship situation of the Bern royal family with “…… His parents are alive. Yet they’re both awful.” as if it seriously never occurred to her that one's blood relatives might be awful people.
  22. Personally what surprises me the most is how small the gap between the Japanese and international release is this time around. I suppose this is one of the perks of being a major IP.
  23. Criticals shouldn't be an issue. You could just use a Bronze Sword.
  24. I see. Thanks for the info. Good on them to make the title consistent with Binding Blade.
