I really hope so. Jugdral and Elibe remakes would be amazing. And New Mystery being translated also seems more possible than it used to, though still unlikely.

This was the reason Gaiden has a couple pieces on the upcoming piano arrangement album. Before it seemed so odd-ball, but now it makes a lot more sense.
There were a few hints that they had been looking at a Gaiden remake for a while. There was also Gaiden music in Smash Bros. (Mila's Divine Protection), there were Gaiden-inspired classes in Awakening and Fates (Dread Fighters and Witches), and finally Fates obviously took a lot of inspiration from how Gaiden switched up the FE formula.
At least, I interpreted it as hints at a possible remake and I'm glad it ended up happening!

This is something that stuck out to me too and makes me hopeful for a better story. Neither Zofia nor Rigel were portrayed as more good or evil than the other, whereas with Fates it was immediately clear Hoshido was the good kingdom.

My fears are that an avatar will be forced in and take over again (I'm confident there won't be children this time), that it somehow won't have supports, and that if it doesn't sell incredibly well it will put a damper on remakes or a more "classic" approach to the series.
My hopes are that it will be a tight and well written story, like SS which took inspiration from Gaiden, and that the likely small cast will be well developed and memorable, unlike the cast in the previous remake that came West. I also hope new fans won't be turned off if there's no avatar and less fanservice.

If done right towns could be amazing for FE. Ever since My Castle was revealed I realized the potential of having a free-roamable "barracks". I hope with SoV they take it one step further and place special conversations and events in the towns.

Looks really cool! I love the new (much needed) art. Both lords look great and I'm glad Celica is channeling more of Eirika than her Awakening redesign.
The in-game graphics looked a little less impressive than Fates, though. Hopefully they'll freshen up before release.

Fuck yeah Gaiden remake!!! I felt it made so much sense to release it now that it seemed that much more unlikely, if that makes sense! It looks amazing! And it's coming in a few months!
And honestly, FE Mobile looks cool too. Can't wait to try it out!

Base game:
Marth - face of FE
Caeda - one of the most important female characters in the series and thanks to #FE is now familiar to new fans as well
Tiki - one of the few recurring characters and important in every game she appears in
Garnef - the original villain
Sigurd - main Lord of the best regarded game in the series; honestly could go to Seliph instead
Arvis - a bit less sure he'll appear, but I feel he deserves an appearance alongside Sigurd or Seliph
Alm - Gaiden got some references in Fates
Celica - same as above, plus as a mage warrior she'd make a fun fighter
Roy - Smash Bros
Lyn - out of the three FE7 lords I feel she's the most likely especially if there's only one
Ephraim - I don't expect much SS rep, but Ephraim is someone I'm 99% sure is gonna be in
Lyon - one of the most memorable villains and he could be interesting with the whole necromancer/Demon King angle
Ike - Smash and is one of the faces of FE at this point
Micaiah - so much potential she has to be in
Sothe - we need a ninja and Sothe is the most important candidate, could just as easily be passed up in favour of Kaze though
Black Knight - I feel this is a must in terms of villains
Chrom - confirmed
Lucina - all but confirmed if Chrom is in
Robin - same as above, unless they decide to have an original avatarTharja - fanservice
Gangrel - his appearance in #FE makes me think he has a good shot and he works as the token crazy villain
Aversa - same as above, she's the most likely sexy villain

Anankos - latest villain and a good choice for the big dragon if Medeus doesn't show

My guess is it's going to be Fire Emblem Warriors, Fire Emblem Mobile, and final batch of DLC for Fates including possible amiibo support for Corrin and Roy. 15 is still a ways out imo. They aren't about to announce another big FE game when they still haven't announced an official end to Fates development and Fire Emblem Warriors coming out. It's just too early yet.
15 is more likely an announcement at E3 anyway. If Fire Emblem really is a big deal to Nintendo now, they will wait for the biggest video game convention of the year to announce it rather than at a small direct. It will garner more attention and hype that way.
Good point. I think FEW and Mobile are sure bets, but I'm not feeling more Fates DLC. Kinda hope/think some VC titles are more likely. If so my guess would be PoR and Gaiden translated.

I remember how excited I was at the FE14 reveal. Getting a repeat of that feeling but with the bonus of the game actually living up to said hype would be a dream come true. Bring on FE15.

Revelation is my least favourite of the three paths and one of the worst FEs in the series. Reasons:
- The story pacing is way off. There's too much shoved into the first third: trip into Valla, sibling drama, Garon's Evil Dudes, recruiting literally everyone. Then the middle chunk, banding together to go into Valla, which should be full of lore and interesting Nohr-Hoshido character development, is a long boring mess that advances the story in no way and pulls a very cheap and ineffective attempt at creating emotionally charged drama. The last few chapters are then rushed again to off the big bad dragon who gets no context or backstory unless you pay for 6 DLCs (iirc). Oh and to top it off the ending makes no sense and only serves as more unnecessary Kamui worship.
- The setting. Valla has no history, no inhabitants, no culture, nothing which makes it interesting. And we spend at least 2/3s of the game there.
- The maps. Sure they're inventive, but not in a fun way like Conquest. Mostly, it's tedious to play this route. Most of the map gimmicks are randomly thrown in, too, with either a lame explanation (see: the town covered in ice) or none (why is Valla a bunch of floating islands and moving platforms?).
- Characters are pushed to the side, but nothing really takes the place of the character development that should be happening. Since everyone is recruited in quick succession, no one gets more than a few lines to remind us who they are. I will say that some of the route supports are good, but it's ridiculous that not even the main characters get to interact meaningfully with each other during the story.
- Kamui worshipping is out of control. First everyone starts a war because Kamui hurt their feelings. Then everyone comes together because Kamui is gonna jump off a bridge. Then they all get betrayed because of Kamui's naïveté, but it's OK because you're awesome don't ever change. Finally they all face off with the zombie squad who for some reason are more interested in Kamui than the other royals, before fighting the dragon boss who btw may or may not be related to Kamui. In the end, Kamui vanquishes evil and he becomes King of a kingdom no one needed or asked for.
In a way, Revelation is a summary of Fates as a whole: sounds great on paper but ends up being mostly wasted potential.

The outfit and colours really suit him as the advisor to Mikoto. The puppet is a cool addition. I wish we had seen more of Hoshido's machinery.

While I'm not big on her character, I love her design. The outfit is great even though I'm not sure what the crown is. The Pegasus classes are really well designed in Fates. And her scars are a good way to show she's an experienced knight.
Scarlet
She's another character who feels very classic FE. She reminds me of Vaida in a way. But cuter.
Flora
Like Felicia I feel it's a good design if you take it separate from the whole anime maid trope.

A pretty cool design. The all black armour looks slick, and his face gives the look of a strong fighter.

I may like her as a character but this design is still terrible.

Very cool design. Same for the transformation.

See above. The only part I don't like is the mullet. The transformation is ugly.
I have to agree both shapeshifters are way better designs than the taguel. They look like they'd fit in with the laguz imo (except the transformed Wolfskin, ugh).

I'm feeling optimistic because so far it looks like a better remake than SD was, so I think word of mouth will be generally positive.
That being said, fans should realistically expect differences from the newest games, since it is a remake of a very old game, and that implies that not every feature from the 3DS era will fit in. IS/Nintendo should probably also keep their own expectations in check though, as I do feel a remake likely won't sell as well as a brand new original game. I still expect it to sell fairly well though and hopefully reviews will help with that.
