My thoughts-

Ayra- "Your life is mine." I always dread whenever she procs Regnal Astra and says this line. "Let's see you handle this." has slightly more emotion b ut there's just something chilling about my chosen quote.

Arden- "I'm strong, and you're toast." He has a line similar to this but I like this one more because it involves the enemy. Also toast unintentionally brings back FE4 memories of a certain scene so I guess that makes this more memorable in a way.

Tailtiu- "Bye-bye now!" Unfortunately all her quotes are quite short and generic but I guess this one comes the closest to showing off a bubbly personality.

My thoughts-

Gunter- "I will cut you down." I just love the pure emotion in this quote, it's a really strong performance. "A grave mistake" is my second pick.

Felicia- "You're just a stain!" I love a good pun, fits well with her Maid class. It's just such a good quote, and makes Felicia sound really awesome before suddenly blasting a Glacies. "Didn't expect that, did ya?" is a nice second pick, turning one of her after battle quotes from Fates into a special quote.

Jakob- "Time to take out the trash." Again, love a good pun to go with his Butler class. "You are excused" is also a good quote, and a bit classier but the punnier quote is catchier.

Jakob - All of them are amazing because of his voice but 'Time to take out the trash' stands out to me :D

Felicia - 'You're just a stain' - I like how this references her maid job and has nothing to do with her being clumsy.

My thoughts-

Gordin- "Bull's-eye!" Very fitting for the shooting shota archer. I like how energetic and youthful his voice is, so he sounds very eager.

Draug- "For my liege!" I really like the word 'liege' but I like a lot of Draug's quotes. "None shall pass." is another good one, very fitting for an armour knight.

Jeorge- "I won't miss, I'm afraid." Again, Jeorge has a good selection of quotes to choose from but I guess I'm more exposed to this quote because he says this when you enter battle. Honorable mention to "Just as I calculated" for the nice emphasis on 'Just'.

Gordin - 'Bulls-eye' - Pretty much agreed with above. I like the way he says this :)

Draug - 'None shall pass' - It makes me think of Gandalf xD I also like the reference to him being an armour, since he was the first and his name is literally 'guard' backwards. 

Jeorge - 'This will be painless' - It's so confident and clinical. I love it. Shows he knows what he's doing, which is fitting for the best (and prettiest) archer :D 

(I know, he's not the best in the game, but his skills are often mentioned everywhere he appears... and he does remain the prettiest archer bar none <3 )

Draug - "Out of my way." - I don't like his voice so I'll pick the one that I think is a cooler phrase, and it's this.

My thoughts-

Lute- "I am superior, after all." Fits with her personality, and there's just something satisfying hearing this after effortlessly defeating an enemy. 

Amelia- "I am NOT scared!" Not "I'll do my best" because she's not Nino I like how she emphasised "NOT" in this quote, and I always like determined quotes. 

Mia- "Clash with me!" I feel like her voice should sound a little younger, and none of her quotes really stand out that much. I think this one at least goes well with her wanting someone to fight with, so it fits the most.

Man I hate Amelia's art in this game. I try to avoid it where I can -.- 

Amelia - 'I'll protect everyone' - The usual liking the need to protect people. 

Lute - 'I am superior after all' - This really fits with Lute. I honestly don't understand the 'with love' quote. That doesn't feel like Lute at all to me. She's pretty clinical and likes to watch people's reactions... where does love come into her quote? Oo

Mia - I agree, pretty generic quotes overall. Her voice sounds fine to me. I went for 'You're on' since it sounds like she's fully accepting a challenge from someone, so she's finally getting what she wants (even though what she really wants is Rhys, who isn't in the game yet v.v ... Even though Titania x Rhys is love).

My thoughts-

Hawkeye- "WUU-OOHHH!" Boy, that is one good war cry. It's so good I can't choose a properly worded quote over it! Even better because Hawkeye sounds normally so calm in his normal quotes and then suddenly you get this blast of strength in his voice. 

Dorcas- "For Natalie!" Dorcas seems to be a simple man, and just devotes his cause for his wife. Sweet and simple.

Karel- "Feast, blade. Feast!" When I think of Karel, I just think of that sweet, blood-red Wo Dao and this really fits that image of him and his weapon. I especially like how he says the second 'feast'. Also this is the first time I've heard of the word 'roil' so hooray for Heroes teaching vocabulary? haha (Can't help but think if Owain actually had crazed blood he'd say all these lines! If only Heroes had supports I'd love to see him interact with Karel)

Hawkeye - 'I'm coming for YOU' - that would be pretty intimidating to hear when you're against a big, burly man like him... I mean, he's so confident, he doesn't even wear a shirt!

Dorcas - 'I'm making it home alive' - For Natalie felt a bit too forwards. I prefer the more subtle one here, since he's such a family man, I feel like it's all about his home and family.

Karel - Oddly, I never thought of him as middle aged. 'Feast, blade. Feast' - I feel this gets across the pure crazy side of his character, since battling is all he cares about currently. I really want to see his FE6 version in the game so we can see the contrast.

My thoughts-

Gaius- "Like candy from a babe." Ray Chase delivers this line quite smoothly and there's something satisfying when a character belittles an enemy, treating him/her like a baby. It also alludes to his thieving ways. Also, I like how he's using a sword in his art despite being a dagger user in this game lol.

Nowi- "A-aa—aCHOO!" It's just funny to hear a sneeze while she's dishing out a Lightning Breath in her dragon form- plus it's one of the best sneezes I've heard. Second choice would probably be "Who do you think I am?" because I like how she says it.

Henry- "Special delivery!" I...really don't like Henry's English voice- it's a bit too forced and squeaky for my taste (and the Japanese has a nice creepy and jolly tone that works). That said, I like how he says this quote and I hear this one the most when I battle him. Otherwise, for a second choice "It's curse o'clock!" works as well.

I remember when awakenings henry voice was very nice to listen to, but it just sounds so odd in heroes for some reason, really wish he had "Im gonna kill you" from awakening in here, oh well, we deal with what we have I guess.

Gaius - 'Piece of cake' - I love all of his lines. He's my favourite Awakening character and one of my overall favourites. His VA is amazing. I loved this one because it's said in a fairly dismissive way, shows his love of sugar, and totally disregards the enemy xD

Nowi - Yeah... I tend not to use her for obvious reasons -.- - 'Dragon Rampage!' - Suits her childish nature without being overly so, plus I like the way it sounds.

Henry - I don't mind his voice in Heroes. 'It's curse o'clock' is my second favourite due to the way he says it, but I love the gleeful delivery of 'Special delivery' so that is my number one here :D

To be fair, I do think Bryce's Halloween Henry is an improvement

Also @Cute Chao I couldn't really find an actual age for Karel but he does look older than the usual Fire Emblem characters. Maybe it's the long hair haha- but maybe middle-age isn't really the correct term.

I always thought late twenties for him, but then I tend to put most people in their twenties unless they look properly old. Dorcas, I'd say late thirties. Maybe early thirties for Hawkeye?

My thoughts-

Luke- "Legend in the making!" Luke joins Donnel and Rebecca as characters who mention themselves in one their quotes (Luke has two!)....but I like this quote the most. It's pretty catchy and has a nice ring to it.

Roderick- "Duty, above all!" seems very Roderick-like. Special mention to "Brace yourself" because it's a bit meta when he uses the Firesweep Lance- the opponent can't counter so he/she has to brace for the impact!

Athena- "We always pay debt!" A bit unintentional but the way she pronounces this 'debt' sounds like 'death' so it's a bit of an endearing line for me. Otherwise, "Now we cut you!" also sounds great.

Luke - 'Gotta love the Luke' - Love this one. It's said in such a bold way, and the third person announcement really fits Luke. 

Roderick - 'Duty above all' - This suits the very serious Roderick the most, in my opinion. It seems to be the main thing in his focus.

This is the second time we've heard Alexis Tipton as this character, and I like how she aimed to give a slightly more masculine quality because of the Mask, at least compared to what I remember from Laura Bailey's version.

Performing Inigo- "This'll make you smile!" Inigo is all about making everyone smile, and I just can't help but like this quote because of how happy he looks being a dancer like he dreamed of, the excited way he says it, and how joyful his art is when he activates a special. It feels like he's saying that to the summoner as well, since he's about to let loose.

Performing Shigure- "My heart is singing..." Matt Mercer is great as Shigure- there's a hint of sadness but also poise in his quotes. I really love this quote, and even if he shares this with his mother, there's just a different, more sombre quality to it when Matt Mercer speaks. Second pick would be "The end of melody..." because it's a very intriguing quote.

You're right about Inigo. He just seems so happy with everything. His art, voice and all round everything just makes me smile. He and Shigure are still my two favourite additions to this game :D

Inigo - 'One more dance? Sure' - Didn't take much persuading there. I love all of his quotes, but I absolutely adore this one. He's finally getting to dance and it takes no more coaxing to get him to do it again.

Shigure - Ahhh Matt Mercer <3 *Fangirls for a bit*. I think he's at his best with Shigure (some bias after hearing him singing in the Fates DLC). I love his sombre tones, although they always make me want to give him the biggest hug. I went with 'My heart is singing', since it's such an upbeat looking quote but he says it in an almost wistful way. Daaaaw.

 

Masked Lucina can go die in a hole. I've grown to hate her masked persona more and more -.-

My thoughts-

Micaiah- "Such cowardly tactics." I know it references Begnion, but I like how meta it is when she uses her Thani bomb against Armour/Horse Emblem. Veronica Taylor really did a great job in her voice, I like all of her quotes to be honest.

Sothe- "I've made up my mind." Sothe's lines are a bit meh quote-wise but I guess this one sums up his reason for being in the Dawn Brigade and fighting against Ike the most. Also nice if he says it next to Micaiah's "I have no choice!", so that would be some fun interaction.

Zelgius- "One will live. One will die." Well this pretty much makes me think of a certain map objective. While a lot of words can be said about the reveal, I do like how his voice is clearer now. Sure it's less intimidating, but it's also a bit refreshing? I get the feeling Zelgius's VAs speaks as if he is relieved he doesn't have to hide his identity now or something. I also like "Say your prayers" and "No draw. no escape." Overall, I do like how dignified he sounds.

I went with~

"Such cowardly tactics!" for Micaiah.

"Say your prayers!" for Zelgius.

"I've made up my mind!" for Sothe.

@mcsilas It's actually funny how appropriate his quotes are. None of them stand out or are particularly special, but that actually reflects his character himself. Despite his "admittedly cool" appearance, he's noting special or noteworthy, not even in strength. He even reflects that himself at the end of the game when he talks about how mediocre he is and how amazing everyone around him is, but despite that he's resolved to fight too. I think that's why I like him as a character now that I think about it. He's the underdog with no particular potential, but regardless he fights like everyone else, maybe twice as hard.

I was wondering why I liked him because otherwise he's Micaiah Micaiah Micaiah and I hate that, and on the other side of the coin he's kind of a douche to anyone else.

@Zeo Haha, I think if Radiant Dawn had a better support system, it would at least flesh him out (and many others) more.

I never thought of that, and yeah it makes sense, especially the mediocre part (especially back in PoR when Volke exists and he couldn't change classes). I like him a bit more now thanks to your point (Micaiah speak aside). I think the more interesting parts of his character is when he meets old allies like Tormod, and how he steeled himself to be against other ex-allies like Ike (Father of his children...I wonder if anyone supported him and Ike yet?)

So yeah all that actually reinforces my chosen quote now!
