I mean on the bright side, I only feel so ancient because this dog I remember as an excitable puppy (despite the fact he was, you know, 6 when I met him so by definition he was already grown) is now well past the life-expectancy of his breed... despite being blind, arthritic, and diabetic, and now it turns out the suspected cancer was nothing and his blood sugar is good to go. On the other hand, dealing with automated government systems that don't seem to know how to forward a call (resulting in it sending you through to an out of service phone), send you letters by snail mail about deadlines for things 9 days before the letter arrives (meaning all you get from the letter is the knowledge you missed the deadline), and so forth... well.. I think that's the most I swore in years... even if it was in a pointless rant to empty air. Ah well. At least my ears have given up ringing... so I should hopefully be doing chapter 11 soon.
