Hwahahahahaha... Here it is. The choice I've been waiting for.

Spoiler

nkxO9uir_o.jpg

A lesser game would've made Serenoa go "no we will face impossible odds and defend my best friend because honor or something." Triangle Strategy lets me be a bastard.

And, of course...

axM4ZEii_o.jpg

I made my choice. Anna came in clutch. I couldn't convince anyone else to change their minds.

Gotta say, I lovw that Roland votes to surrender Roland. It's a cool detail.

So long, blondie. Hope they'll treat you well and don't bite your neck too hard.

Hah! That sounds great. I'd only accept it if it has even more bugs, though.

Oh God.

Which part? You don't think the art is gorgeous or that the designs are heavy handed? If it isn't clear, I'm talking about the portraits. They're beautiful, but... Dang, so obvious. You can tell who is evil at a glance.

Ah well, personal preferences. I much prefer this grounded, bleaker artstyle. But that's just me, of course.

See this is exactly why I'm out of the loop on things I've spent the last 8 months or so of my life on my niece, messing around with infra-sound, old comics, and playing 16-bit era games. The last game I played all the way through on release was the Switch Port of Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light... and they don't even sell that one anymore because questionable business decisions.

As an aside to that, i finally figured out adding music to CS (not replacing existing music files that is)

c16905e24f2fa283d81e780b0bdccc43.png

And unlike the devs, i actually keep my things in order! (i would freak out otherwise anyways)

As seen here the bgm id has to match with what's in bgm.tbl file in order for music to work right, and the ID needs to be set right as well here.

Whacking things with a racquet really doesn't suit the tone the story is going for. But I am fine with that. Pico's gonna murder the final boss, mark my words.

Yeah, that's where we differ. This, well... I wouldn't mind something like this terribly much if the game's otherwise good, but... Yeaaaah I'd have anything else, haha. This type of style is not for me at all. But that's okay, opinions and all.

Hey, it's all right. You've been spending your time on other things. Keeping up with releases isn't all that, honestly.

True. I'm just saying it makes me feel like I'm out of place... or maybe out of time. Then again.. it could be worse. I could be back in high-school living that period in time where the emo fad was a thing and wondering how I'd ever relate to people my age if they keep dying their hair black and cutting themselves to "fit in". Or something.

Well, the laptop has decided I have abused it too much and is now almost never starting up and crashes after two minutes when it does. So that's great. This was a legit problem for applying for a job today, so yeah. And of course that's another thing in this time of transition to deal with. And the keyboard is acting odd with SF so mobile sucks to type all this, apologies for not engaging on all these topics.

At least I beat that boss that was bothering me in Dread pretty handily just now.

Apologies for the radio silence the above may bring.

Don't worry about it, is all I'll say for now. I'd bring up my experience with minding my own relative, but I can barely scroll up without it going awry.

Yeah it'd be like pre-Shallie Atelier in that regard but even then, Atelier gave you things to do. Meanwhile Persona 5 is really taking it's time before giving you stuff to actually do.

I can't believe I'm seriously going to be using this. But, the combination of physical resistance and Mudoon makes it perfect for the current boss fight. I won't be able to get over its "Push! Push! Ahhhhh!" animation, but I don't need to. I probably won't use him much after the fight.

Really need to recruit more recent demons in more diverse races tho', 18 slots still isn't enough for me. Next priority is using two Aquans to turn my antiquate Anahita into Sarasvati, who shall very fortunately inherit Resist Fire with ease and the first possessor of Bufudyne, I can tell a boss fight is coming up where that combination will be very useful. Besides that, a Kushinada-hime for the first available source of Mediarama.

My question is how much is their crackdown going to apply internally. Usually China's crackdowns are designed to prevent money from leaking out of China into the West. Making trade,if not one way per se, bottlenecked for outgoing currency. I'm not sure they care too much about internal purchases. Then again... can a multinational company investing in foreign companies be said to be internal purchases at this point? Definitely not a situation I'd be eager to be in.

I was referring more to the PRC's typical top-down force-everyone-into-a-correct-minded-productive-slave-to-the-state severe limitations on the amount of time minors can spend on video games. Now, most of China's restrictions apply to online video games, because of the potential of addiction and the country's preference for them, but it's difficult not to see how that would spill down into offline gaming. We're talking the country that bans celebrity fanclubs and writes celebrities out of existence overnight, because nothing deserves worship and loyalty except the PRC state.

Darn it!

It's all because Blue Moon has its units and HQ architecture based on WWII-Korean War era USSR. Not helping is AW1 kicking off with Blue Moon invading Orange Star (America).

I get it. China is literally that old Sonic Comic with the robot hammering in the "No Fun Allowed" sign.

You'd think drastically outdated units and architecture would offer some protection from criticism. But then again... as said I instantly thought "Olaf". Well it's a good thing events in Eastern Europe will never resemble a medieval fantasy like Fire Emblem... and why is everyone looking at Path of Radiance?

The first time a rnadom, unvoiced peasant in TS said "must needs", I though for sure it was a typo.

But then Benedict and his VA said it twice. And I went on Google and apparently that's a valid expression. English is weird...

Bwaahahahaha! Oh this game is going places now.

Spoiler

So the evil greedy fatso from the church state is coming to invade us. Aesfrost has accepted to send aid our way. This means we can easily backstab them and grant Hyzante an easy win in exchange for assylum...

...ooor we can cast our lot with Aesfrost. You know, the guys who invaded us for bogus reasons and intend to conquer the entire world. Led by a vampire.

Yes. Please. I want to stick with Vampcens until the end. I want to see how far they'll let me go down this evil path. Let's go.

The irony is that he is originally from Orange Star, has a Scandinavian name, and sings a barely-revised version of "O Canada" as one of his DS win quotes. General Winter the CO is one real mishmash.

At least this isn't Battalion Wars. I would love a rerelease of those two games, but the Tundran Territories wears its lighthearted communist pride too proudly.

When obscure parts of the world that sound like good fantasy names, stop being so obscure.😆

Although, IS had already goofed with Bern. How did they not realize that was the enduring name of a modern country?

If IS ever in the most bizarre of circumstances decides to rename Elincia's country, how about "Trebizond"? It's another city on the Black Sea, now referred to in English as "Trabzon". It was for two centuries a titular rump state "empire" broken off of the terminally-declining Byzantine Empire. The name fancifully rolls off my tongue and it looks good on paper IMO.😄

Whyyyyyyyyy assign this to the Sumerian hero of yore? Glancing over the myths, there is nothing remotely of the sort in his legends. Why not grab a fictional or real figure (like Casanova) to whom it might actually have some some traction?

Either way, it's messed up Japan. I'm all for whatever retcons they might've enacted here.

Well, in Fate lore Gilgamesh is the first Hero, and everything he says is ''law'', and he made it a law to bed every woman on her wedding day.

Since his word is law, it can't be illegal.

He is an asshole, yes

If I was going with one, I'd say Ajax the Lesser of Greek mythology. Mind that worked out pretty bad for him given the way he died. Mind I find it a bit rich that Poseidon and Athena had a hand in that punishment given how the former treated Medusa in some variations of her origin, and how the latter punished her for being treated that way. Guess it's fine when you're a God but not when you're a mortal. Greek Gods for you.

I think the single thing that ties Olaf to Russia in my mind is his CO ability. Summoning a snowstorm which his troops thrive in while yours flounder simply reminds me of the way Hitler's progression on the Eastern Front stalled come the winter. I don't think there's a military incident I actual remember Russia more for than that. Perhaps because victories stand out more than failures.. and Afghanistan was a failure.

I'm still partial to Crimea as a name for the fictional country. But then I'm adverse to altering names. I remember a point back in the 1960s when Marvel renamed the Black Panther to The Black Leopard to avoid association with a certain group. Didn't stick. I also remember the time they briefly renamed the Western character Carter Slade from "Ghost Rider" to "Night Rider"  in a bid to avoid confusion with the guy with the flaming skull and motorcycle (because they totally look the same)... only to quickly change it to Phantom Rider when "Night Rider" turned out to be an archaic term for a member of the KKK. One look at Carter Slade's all white costume... and you quickly realize that change needed to be made... but ironically could have been avoided if they left him as Ghost Rider. He did have the name first after all. That said... I'm not so adverse to the Phantom Rider name. Night Rider... on the other hand... was truly unfortunate. More so because the name had the connotation first. At least with Crimea, or Black Panther, if we go to Archer the organization ISIS all have names that became unfortunate later due to something unforeseen. Just seems a shame to cede ground on language because of people doing wrong.
