  1. Know how to fit words into tight spaces. Small boxes on the gameboard are annoying to play in, but there are good points to be had there most of the time. Try and hit the point increasing spaces. Similarly, try to make it harder for others to hit the point increasing spaces.
  2. Well yeah, but I don't remember it happening as often. I usually grinded looking for virus cores to unlock areas. Which I find a far better reason to go grinding than "Go talk to a person I don't really care about." I also don't remember dungeons taking so long in the first set of games.
  3. I like G.U. up to the point in the third where I have to spend, like, an hour just to get through an overall pointless dungeon to advance the plot to the point where I need to go through another overall pointless dungeon. It's like, "Why do I have to go to the end of a dungeon to talk to someone? Can't I just meet them at the beginning?" They could have least have something worthwhile to say after it, but no. AKA, got bored.
  4. Drafting as in, there are a certain number of people who pick characters they can use and can't use anyone else. Or something similar to that. Anyways, first things first, we probably want a list of characters. Not like I can remember them all off the top of my head. Also, how do we deal with "extra" characters?
  5. I'll join. Usually play on yahoo, but I'll make something for another site if need be.
  6. Have all four. Beaten them all once, got through half a second playthrough of them before moving on to something else. Draft would be interesting depending on how it's done.
  7. Guys, are we seriously discussing whether or not Ike is a Gary Stu? Let me quote here: The game basically puts a flashy sign on Ike and calls him a Gary Stu. Note: This doesn't make Ike a bad character nor is it a reason to dislike Ike's character. I don't really think you can argue against his Gary Stu-ness after that though.
  8. For anyone who cares, taking the joke Oliver scores out gives him an actual score of 1.99. Which is still too high, but whatever.
  9. So I bought a 3DS to play Tales of the Abyss. Any other games I should be getting?
  10. Has some serious fire power and can do some impressive stuff with it. Is around for 4-E only and doesn't have canto, so not the greatest thing ever. 5.0/10 +1 bias for being the most regal character in the game despite not existing for most of it 6.0/10
  11. Negative growths would involve changing level up mechanics, not actual growth rates. You'd simply make a successful roll decrease a stat rather than increase it. Viola, negative growths.
  12. He can use staves, something I don't particularly need more of for his entire existence. .5/10 -.5 bias 0/10
  13. Exclamation points don't denote anger. Neither does typing in nothing but caps. Write proper English with strong words that convey discontent - you've done a better job of showing your anger than by using exclamation points or all caps. Now exclamation points and caps can help make your point, usually by highlighting more important points of your text. They just don't mean anything on their own; not even on the internet.
  14. The only people on the list are people smash has argued with, apparently. Or my memory's poor. That's a good possibility.
  15. To follow up on that, if you're trying to stop people from rebelling then getting rid of the clergy, who many people listen to, is a good idea.
  16. Which is the best thing to happen to this project.
  17. I think this is nothing but putting what we already do in tier lists into numbers.
  18. "Time efficiency" is terrible because we're ranking units and not players. How do I compare how much real time a unit saves me? "Less time and effort" is also subjective as hell. Just because one person thinks coming up with a strategy and executing it are time consuming and difficult doesn't mean anyone else does. Also, can you not complain about non-quantified factors on an efficiency tier list and then immediately post this?
  19. I'd like to note, Seth2 is better than Seth in Snowy's example if every single tile becomes desert. Which is really just in support of the "situation matters" camp by turning things on their head.
  20. Part 1: Problems because of order Part 2: Problems because of chaos Part 3: Chaos getting out of hand Part 4: Order getting out of hand Story theme of order and chaos.
  21. I can relate to this. Never notice it, so it can't be that big a deal to me.
