Whit Arvis the game does not try to make him loom sympathetic. Hell, it make you want to kill him as painfully as possible. Arvis is "liked" as a villain, whit only few people giving him excuses, wich usually don't hold up when scrutinized. Edelgard on the other hand is meant to be sympathetic and kinda "right" wich make certain things harder to accept. Arvis joining whit the Loptyr cult is him doing a power move out of ambition and eventually getting outmanuevered and losing everything, Edelgard joining whit the slither is her joining the greater evil to bring down the lesser one.

I would use it over swordmaster, but i'd rather spend some battles in mercenary and then put vantage on a good class.

What is even the point of that? A player playing blind has to be on board whit the blood related incest to even unluck the support conversation that tell you that they are not blood related. At that point, they are siscon and brocon that are more likely to be angry that they where cheated out of the incest rather than happy to be able to safely marry their sibling. The only people that benefit from that conversation are people that were on the fence about the incest and looked for spoilers. They should have either made them non-srankable or commit fully to the incest.

I have to revive this topic because, holy hell, Farnirarras the pensive is lame as Hell. To put into perspective. He is Pathfinder:Kingmaker superboss that can be fought only after you did a gamewide sidequest about hunting 45 monsters. Or if you cheese and teleport into the room. When i found out about him i tried to fight him out of masochism just to see how much overpowered bullshit the guys who made the Stag Lord and Hargulka where going to give him. I killed him in 3 turns whitout any serious preparation. No buffing and no equipment changing. I was at an almost appropriate level and my MC is kinda overpowered, but i was expecting much more. I guess i got lucky whit saving throws againist wail of the banshee, but again, my next try i would have casted death ward, so the result would end up the same.

Is kinda offtopic but one piece is better enjoyed by reading the manga and then watching the best scenes animated. It's also way faster to marathon.

Constance is broken on her mag, favored class and crest alone. 4 range canto sniping whit Thyrsus on an unit whit Lysithea mag is just hilariously strong. Balthus is just better Raphael in any conciviable way. I also don't think his personal is bad on War Master, because i don't think building for staying always on less than half health is safe in the first place(but then, i am too much of a coward for even Danger Mario in TYD.). It help him survive if you aggroed too much enemies. Hapi has the strongest personal in the game and it's not even close. Even if she had 0% growths she would be good. Yuri is the only unit that seems balanced. Wich make this DLC feel like power creep on a game that was not well balanced in the first place.

Personally i think def stacking is a viable tactic that is not used simply because it require bad classes while avoid stacking is better and require good classes: Using Raphael because he is always aviable: 7(base)+ 16(unmodified growth for 35 levels)+ 8(great knight base) +6(Ochain shield)+ 7 (a prot battalion, there are better ones on some routes)+ 2 (defense +2). This is 46 defense, most endgame enemies have below 60 might so he can easily tank a couple of them even if they double, and there are some ways to push his def even higher.

Yes he double, but is few point short of ORKOING, and the weight ruin his performance in the arena. And is also very infuriating that you have to fed kills to the worst tome in the series because the game does not let use anything else. As for Vanessa, according to the efficiency crowd, the earliest flyer is automatically entitled every single Angelic vest, energy fluid and dracoshield. It's like, the only reason Marcia is considered PoR best unit. Everyone is god whit enought favoritism, so the most mobile and aviable character is entitled to "enought favoritism". Wich is the main reason lategame should be balanced around caps imo.

Azel is right behind Dhalsin in the "unit that would be good if Kaga did not go out of his way to screw them" list. Basic fire tomes have no business being that heavy, and the early aviability of tomes in general is terrible, forcing him to go several chapter whitoyt anything decent(and no, elfire is not decent). If they do some rebalancing of tomes in a future remake, Azel would be a great unit.

Well, some peope have the attitude "if they like shit they deserve shit". And other than that there is aknowledging personal biases. Right now i hate paladins because they are poorly balanced, but i aknwledge that most people like things that are a strong, so if they judge units that way paladins deserve all the love they get.

Yes, that's a problem because shieldsare appreciated by those that have super low speed anyway, wich often are crestless. Still, if you are not damaged by it you want the strongest shield aviable or no shield at all. There is some fringe cases for light shields(say, you have 30 str and weapons that weight 5 or less) but talisman is not light enought, so Aegis or Hexlock are better 99% of the times,Aviability aside.

A shield that gives res but is a bit too heavy. I don't think it's worth because the people that want it are going to be doubled by mages. Also, You get a better res shield in Felix paralague.

They are not just flawed as people, they are flawed as characters. Dimitri switch personality in a second, Rhea does not do much despite being the most important character in the lore and Edelgard's plan just does not work in many key instances, such as trying to persuade her friends by saying "ain't gonna explain shit". 3H has the same problem of RD and Fates. It tries to make all playable characters sympathetic at all times, while also trying to never have the player feel bad about their decision unless they go out of their way to do so.

And pretty much everything you said is a common shonen protagonist trope. Wich is not that much of a problem as those trace back into ancient mythology(Cu Chulain in particular check every single checkbox.), but is also kinda impossible to deny if you watch shonens often.

There is no way in hell they would remove Mark when Avatars are usually adored by the fandom at large(even Corrin score high on popularity polls). Imo he is not really needed as his original incarnation does not add much, but the plot of FE7 can use some tweaks so he may fit somewhere. Also, i am kinda curious in how the would expand the connection whit Robin that was hinted by Lyn.

I second the awakening cast in general. I blame level up quotes, crit quotes, and event tile quotes. Because those are all things that you see frequently and that remind of the character gimmick. However, most character have many supports about things other than the gimmicks. The presentation just does not make people interested enought to go deeper.

My main argument for Edelgard is villain representation, something that the franchise lack despite having a very large cast. Post TS Edel whit the hegemon as a final smash would not canonize anything.

There is not a "who do you not want" poll for any region. It's very possible for a divisive character to be on both. Is there any indication that japanese are at large happy about the inclusion?

It was still higly predictable that Byleth would have been badly received. The comunity can't shut up about how much they hate certain things that are on Byleth. I am quite sure that if they made a poll "wich character you do NOT want" before Byleth release, they would have won whit a very large margin over the second place. The main reason i reacted so badly is because i completely excluded in my mind the possibility of Byleth. I was 100% sure it was going to be either no one, Edelgard or the Pokemon trainer. Releasing another anime swordsman from fire emblem, no matter how unique, would have awakened a sleeping giants, and i did not found any compelling reason to take such a risk when there were at least 4 better options in 3H.
