  1. Just watch Bakarina when it comes out. Otome games have a lot of tropes.
  2. Lekain whole plan about Dein was "let's hope the king is stupid enought to sign a contract whitout reading it." Wich tbf worked quite well for devils in fiction.
  3. I had a crazy idea. What about having Byleth pulsing wayyyyy back, doing things like preventing the tragedy of duscur or Thales from replacing Arundhel, and dealing whit the butterfly effect untill he find a path where the good people can be happy? It's kinda a classic VN plot.
  4. My idea for a fire emblem game is basically "roman empire vs chinese empire" so i am working on that right now. I am already sure that Kirin Knights would be the flyer class, and that there is going to be a dedicated crossbow class, but other than that i am still deciding the speciphics.
  5. Yes, but they dropped the good things alongside the bad, and i fear we are going to get another Thracia situation, where all the brillant ideas got axed instead of improved.
  6. I suppose there is some cheesy seal def use to clear maps in a turn, but other than that, this game does not have many situations when they are usefull, and when they are, the enemy likely has commander.
  7. I feel for some people gimmicky means "everything that cannot be overcome by throwing overlevelled paladins at it".
  8. Because the underling would go down in 2 turns topand after that the battle became super easy, even if the boss can waste his only action for summonin another minion that would last 2 turns. Underling are ok if there is grid and they have spread enought. 4 vs 1 fights are just not fair most of the times. In pretty much any D&D edition after the early gane you need a single creature to be far above the CR for it to be a challenge, othereise it get destroyed in 2 turns top. But then, JRPG bosses are usually badly designed, as they are just Damage sponge immune to everything that is not straight damage. Those that are more interesting than that, usually have more than a single actions.
  9. I find better enemies that have multiple attacks. If they have just one attack, they became way more manageable, because when action economy is in your favour by 4,5 or even 6 action againist 1, you can nullify everything the boss throw at you and the battle became a slugfest when you either run out of MP or win. Multiple actions allow boss to do more than just damage, such as dispelling your buffs whitout wasting an entire turn doing it.
  10. I feel that 3H, like Echoes, receive more praise for what it is not rather than for what it is. It does not matter how many flaws it has, as long as they are not the same flaws as Fates and Awakening, that certain parts of the fanbase consider the Antichrist. I feel it played too safe for most of the maps, that are much more like Echoes than like Conquest.
  11. I for once, am glad that the classes that should have not been a thing in the first place at least are not a thing for half of the cast.

  13. But Claude is already not part of the story, his whole route is about the church and his own actual objective is reduced to a footnote in his ending. It's even arguable that Dimitri is not a large part of the story as his whole story arc is only about things that are not relevant into any other route and he never ever find out that mole people are a thing. Edelgard vs Rhea is the core of the story far more than Edelgard playing fortnite whit Dimitri and Clayde. Removing the option to side whit Rhea destroy the fundamental point of the story even more than removing the option to side whit Dimitri or Claude.

  15. Except that Silver Snow mostly reuse assets from Verdant Wind(the opposite actually). You won't get much more content by removing it.
  16. Naesala being under a blood pact weakened the character a lot for me. I also feel like Ike is much more of a gary stu, because everyone can't shut up about how awesome he is, and the only character that really got something meaningful out of RD is Elincia. Everyone else either don't devolop much or get worse.
  17. Before Edelgard started the conflict she was considering stepping out in favor of SSJ Byleth, but we don't know what she was expecting from the cerimony(and how she would react if things went differently than what she wanted).
  18. Hardest of all: Edelgard must be ok whit Rhea not getting punished. All the other things you mentioned happen in some route, while Edelgard never let go her animosity toward Rhea.
  19. There is just not a way for it to work. Edelgard want to destroy Rhea far more than she want to destroy the slithers, so there is no way she can cooperate whit Rhea, wich would be necessary for a golden route. Unless you mean it as a "3 lords unite, fuck the church" route.
  20. The weirlding beast in Tales of Maj Eyal. It's already nigh-unkillable as it is, having a shield that totally block damage every X turn, a full heal on a relatively low cooldown, an a buff dispell at a very low cooldown. Then on harder difficulties it spawn whit a class that make it even harder to kill. And there are some fun features locked behind it, so you want to fight it ASAP, but often you just don't have the sheer firepower to do it for a looong time.
  21. I would rework thieves as stealth assassins. They can hide and when they attack while hidden normal attack became crits and crits became lethality. Low str and might means even their crits are not necessarily OHKO. Then archers, other thieves, and certain staves can detect them.
  22. Me: constantly complain about horses being op in fire emblem. Also me:back Pathfinder:wrath of the righteus as soon as they announce mounted combat as a stretch goal.

The Fortress knight base defense is better than i tought, because pretty much everyone but the dedicated tanks and Leonie will have less than 14 def at level 20. 3 def and 3 speed for 300 wexp seems pretty good, considering how much you get from other investment. I am not a big fan of alert stance because i'd rather take an action other than wait if i can, wich is also why i don't like much Dedue's personal, so i'd rather build toward taking the hits or a different kind of dodgetank. Also, i think this game has a bit of a training weapons hell, and the faster i can leave it the better.
  24. Usually i use unicorns in a very un-cute way when i write. They enhance the force of heavy cavalry charge by virtue of ha ing a second lance and being smart enought to realize when the barding are going to protect them from a spear wall. I loke a rhyno mount in D&D for the same purpose, but that's just because the special mount feature of the paladin fix the problems that make Rhynos impossible to tame IRL.
